Bob Newhart was one of the legendary TV comedians. He had a very soft way of telling jokes and was just a lovable guy. Even his movie roles were terrific. Rip Bob

My father loved Bob Newhart. Maybe they will meet now on that Celestial Shore. So sorry for the loss of Shannon Doherty. She suffered so from cancer. She was a child actress on Little House on the Prairie, was part of 90210 and later Charmed.

The passing of Bob Newhart is notable. I remember listening to his records back before in the early 60s. The driving instructor, Walter Raleigh and tobacco, etc.. The various tv comedy shows. What a great talent of subtle humor. Rest well Mr. Newhart. I still enjoy your reruns!!!!

Shannon Doherty’s passing left me speechless, as she was one of my absolute favorite actors. GenXers/Xennials like myself most likely remember her as a child on “Little House on the Prairie” and “Our House” (with Deidre Hall from “Days of our Lives” and Wilford Brimley), but we definitely remember her in “Mallrats”, “Heathers”, the forever iconic “Beverly Hills, 90210”, and “Charmed”. I was on a cruise ship when she passed, so because I had very limited wifi or cell service (along with no TV channels that broadcast national news), I didn’t find out about her passing until the day after when we landed in a city. I literally cried when I saw the news story. Shannon was one of GenX/ Xennials’ icons. even though I knew she was ill, learning that she was gone knocked the wind out of me. in a lot of ways, losing Shannon is like losing part of my childhood. I vividly remember calling my girlfriend and my best friend every Wednesday night so we could all watch it together and talk about it during the commercials! 😅 someone said in the comments (and I’m paraphrasing) that losing Shannen made them contemplate their own mortality, and I couldn’t agree more. when someone close to your age, it is not only a reminder of just how old you are, but that our days really ARE numbered. rest well, sweet Shannen. we’ll miss you.

BOB made tv history when he did the final epidsode of the New Bob Newhart show by making it a part of the first Bob Newhart show. Only know Shannen D. From Charmed, she was the besy part of Charmed stopped watching when she left the show, I remember reading in one of the tv magazines that the first Charmed pilot had been filmed with 3 entirely different girls but the producers ordered all 3 replaced and that filming on the new pilot begun before an actress for Phoebe had been found her part was spliced into continuity after they hired A.M.,, rather wise that they had picked some other Actress for Phoebe, maybe the show would have been better, without the on set feud.

Shannen Doherty--that hurts😞 Such a gifted person all around. When Prue died on Charmed, Piper said "She was the first one up, and the last one down..." -which is a fitting epitaph for Shannen...I'll always remember that line, bc it was very much the character but also Shannen. I was rewatching old episodes of 90210 and found it ironic that early in the series they had Shannen Doherty's character Brenda finding a lump in her breast, the episode was all about what if she had breast cancer.

I remember seeing Dr Ruth on the Johnny Carson Show years ago. I always felt so bad because Dr. Ruth had lost her entire family in the holocaust. I also remember Richard Simmons's enthusiasm when I saw him on TV. really liked the Bob Newhart Show where he played a psychologist. No more golden age of Hollywood comics anymore. I still miss Bob Hope and Jack Benny, Burns and Allen. Such is life. My condolences to the families who lost loved ones this week.

Lou Dobbs was a force in the world of TV news. He was a journalist that reported key information that was truthful and on point. Lou had a great career and was respected by his peers. This is a great loss for quality reporting! Rip Mr Dobbs.

The passing of Lou Dobbs is unfortunate. He was a magnificent journalist, what you can call a true journalist, not just a reporter. He is sorely missed by his family and friends and his colleagues and all the people who knew Lou Dobbs and followed his example being such great man and journalist. Rest in Peace always, Lou, you might be gone but you will be never forgotten. 🙏💐

RIP, rest in peace, Richard Simmons, Shannon Doherty (Beverly Hills 90210 & Charmed), and Bob Newhart, aka Professor Proton of the TV show The Big Bang Theory & as a guest speaker on The Simpsons with the episode of Krusty and his tax problems and he faking his own death, as of yesterday. Richard Simmons was the same age that Jimmy Buffet died,76 years old, Sharon Doherty was one year shy of when Matthew Perry aka Chandler Bing of the TV show Friends,54 years old & three years shy of when Steve Harwell of the rock band Smash Mouth when he died, 56 years old ✝️🤟🙏

It's 45 to 55 minutes to cover the month. They quietly changed their format from monthly to weekly. Like.. cmon people.

As @SagittariusQueen said, those 4 all passing within 24 hours to a couple of days of each other was the worst week ever. I especially loved Richard Simmons doing the Deal-a-meal in the early 90s and his dancing to the oldies. Dr Ruth was a mainstay for us in the early 80s just like Se#with Sue(Johannson) in Canada. All of us grew up with Bob Newhart since the 70s. ❤😢

I can still remember watching The Richard Simmons Show with my mother when it came on in 1980. I'm not sure if I was even in school yet then or not, but we both did the exercises with him. In high school gym class, we sometimes exercised along with Sweatin' to the Oldies.

This was such a tough week for pretty much every Gen Xer out there. Too many icons at one time. 😭 May they all rest in peace, knowing they left a legacy that will live on for a very, very long time. 🙏

I never have any criticism for this channel, which I faithfully watch every week, but this time, I simply must say my peace. I feel that the tribute to Lou Dobbs, while gracious as always, fell short of the lifetime achievements of this man. I remember him on local TV News in Phoenix, Az in the 70s, and I am very saddened by his passing. Lou was not just a news anchor, he was an award-winning journalist and lauded author. He received an Emmy Award, ACE Cable Award, Peabody Award, Horatio Alger Award, the Eugene Katz Award on Immigration, an American Legion Award, the Alex de Toqueville Statesmanship Award, and the Father Of The Year Award in 1993. Lou had six children. And as far as I know, he authored at least seven books on economics. The WSJ named him TV's Premier Business News Anchor. By all accounts, Lou was an outstanding professional, a man of great personal integrity, and an awesome friend to many. He will be greatly missed.

A damn shame about Bob..."Newhart" was one of my favorites growing up, him the late Tom Poston and of course "Larry, Daryll & Daryll" TOTALLY made that show what it was! And I dont think I need to remind anyone that remembers that the series finale was one of the most memorable and talked about in TV history even to this day and a little known fact about it CBS writing staff tried to pass it off their idea when in fact it was his late wife Ginny's idea 2 years before the show was even cancelled ....I was a little surprised about Dr. Ruth, though...I thought she already died years ago...

A sad few days, lost Prue (Shannon),loved Charmed , Richard Simmons, was so funny, but was serious in getting people to exercise and Dr Ruth, she told people about taboo things and said it straight forward.

Wow! Talk about terrible and huge losses the past week??? My goodness 😳 especially the loss of my all-time favorite and hero, BOB NEWHART! Bob helped get me through some really hard times when I was a young kid and into my teenage years from sone terrible family problems and trauma! His comedy kept me insulated from all the drama and sadness during my growing years, and I think without him, I might have taken a wrong turn in my life? Thanks to BOB NEWHART, I survived relatively intact and emotionally healthy! I love that man..... I'll miss him dearly 😢 Thank you BOB NEWHART for probably saving my life with your genius comedy and all the laughter you gave me to help me cope with terrible stress and anxiety at a young age! I honestly owe you my life BOB! Rest well, beautiful man! 😊❤😢
