You always surprise us, you put out the most interesting content, my wife and I found your search for your ancestry inspires us to do the same. Love it if you could do more, keep up the great work, you both are fantastic ❤️x
It is truly amazing how much information can be found with a lot of digging and investigation. Fascinating, sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes exciting!
That was a great video , blown away with all the information, Jenny must have spent literally hours collating that. How lovely to find out so much about your ancestors. Looking forward to your next video 😊 x
Hi Bob and Jenny. Thank you for a really absorbing video. We were fascinated to se the various strands of Bob's family history picked out in the video. George is currently doing our families' trees, but research in Scotland is a little bit harder as there are not so many sources of information, as we have research remotely, but your video has given us fresh enthusiasm to continue. Terrific research from Jenny and we enjoyed the sense of pride and achievement about the family which you both clearly got from that and actually visiting the relevant locations. Smashing video - thank you both. George and Trish
Great researching done! My husband and I had a few days away in our motorhome combining it with family research and it was amazing what we found out about his family. Brings it back to life 👍
Hi Bob and Jenny, wow you have done so much research Jenny it must have taken you some time to collate it all. Very interesting history of your family Bob, such a shame your grandmother was widowed so early in her marriage to your grandfather and like you say a sad story. I find it fascinating, I have done this family tree research on my family too. Great video nice that you were able to find some of the buildings you were looking for. The view from the church was amazing like you say a beautiful place to live x
Brilliant video Bob and Jenny, found it really interesting thank you. I too have have been using ancestry and am always amazed at how much information is available. I started researching my family tree at 16 and am now in my early 60’s, dipping in and out over the years. We have just watched your video sited at Cayton Village, not been a good week weather wise but enjoyable nevertheless. Thank you both for all you do
Fabulous video Bob family history so interesting. And of course your history as we feel we know you a little as we have followed you for so long.my late mother has family connections to the north and Scotland. Her maiden name was Wakefield. So interesting.
Very interesting, well researched Jenny That was funny about the policeman. ( i remember our village policeman doing that 😂). My son lives near Huddersfield Oakes, i always complain about all the hills and small roads. I once used ancestory to find about my Mothers Mother, she passed away when mum was 7, we could never understand a connection with a Doctor being her parent, i found out that her Mother passed away when herself and brother were infants and they adopted them. I did find her brothers family too to find out we all went to school together.
Loved the tour of my home town. Looking forward to the Towneley Hall video. I spent a lot of weekends playing Football and cricket on the playing fields .You should have called in for a coffee to chat about your family history!😆Phil and Helen
Towneley Hall, Burnley’s jewel in the crown, you can look around the Hall most days was £5 entrance fee. Jenny have a look at Lancashire online parish records, brilliant for local bmd records. Another Great video !
found this very interesting, not just the “ isuzu attached to my thong “ bit 😂😂 , and the stunning location , but actually finding the house where john and hannah lived ! absolutely loved this , i reckon they were definitely amongst the unmarked graves , the old pic of the granby hotel where your grandad worked amazing & the police fined £5 😂 , also ediths house @22:01 , great work bob & jenny 👍 enjoyed the video
My grandmother was Emily Earnshaw from Rochdale born 1880 her father was Albert Earnshaw a winder in the mill. Started watching your show a few years back because of your name and been watching eversince
@@BobEarnshawMoHo though there would be. Thank you for your reply looking forward to your next video. I am scottish and love when you tour Scotland hope you do again soon x
Well done Jenny, you have obviously worked hard on this one! Having been on Ancestry myself it gets quite confusing the further back you go. Good work.
Hi Bob & Jenny, As a family history enthusiast it was very pleasant to watch and listen to your history. Two points firstly my grandad was a cabinetmaker and upholster and died at young age with respiratory problems that was blamed on the glues and varnishes. Secondly the GRO office is based in Southport, but I do not know whether you can order certificates over the counter. On line applications take only a few working days and I usually purchase the email version and then print it off. Keep on researching. Geoff
Just love family history, been doing my son's direct lines back for some 30 years!!!! I have a link to the Queen Mary Trailers, made by Taskers of Andover in Hampshire. My father supplied them with with workshop machinery and took away all the scrap metal!!! Thank you both, fascinating. Take care.
Love researching family history, traced my mother’s side back to the 1800,s unfortunately my father’s family are from Dublin Eire so not much luck yet. Thoroughly enjoyed this video thanks for trip on your family’s journey. Stay safe and well xx
Great video again! I too am an enthusiastic family tree chaser. Tends to go in fits and starts as brick walls are overcome. I found that linking into Family Tree as well as Ancestry is useful👍. It was one of the reasons for getting the Motorhome as I plan to travel around Yorkshire where some of my roots are based to do a bit of detective work😁
Great video. Have you tried the General Register Office (GRO) for birth/marriage/death certificates. A lot cheaper for a pdf. to use for family history. Keep up your good work.
Ancestry £24.99. GRO direct £7.50. This tip was from a Podcast Amateur Family History by Andy Holmes. Like yourselves he is very helpful and informative with lots of useful tips.
Hi Bob great video In the war Central Mill also made wooden models of planes to help ack ack gunners recognise planes. My great grandfather was Wilfred booth and I have been in the factory when it was working. I am Lawrence booth
The drive around Burnley took me back. Lots of people moved into the area from Yorkshire for work. Cotton and iron were the major employers. Some of my family came from Gargrave and surrounding area. My Great Grandmother married in Gargrave but was born in Mayfair - nobody knows why she ended up in Gargrave but the only plausible idea of the many people I am in contact with is that her employer had a house in the area, still a mystery. As for Townley hall, did you take a photo of the drive with the hall behind you? George Washington is a decedent of the Towley's.

A very interesting video, thanks. The area of where the Parkinson Street house is located is classed as one of the rough areas of Burnley, though probably wasn't way back. As you saw they have now demolished a lot of the old terraced houses and built new houses, so at least they are now trying to improve that area. I have trees on Ancestry though it can be very time consuming and also frustrating at times. One part of my tree, I have managed to trace back to the mid 1500s, but not as successful with other parts especially when a person turns out to be illegitimate. It is fascinating what you find out. I've sent for a few birth/death certificates and on one death certificate for a 3 or 4 x gt grandmother in the 1800s (off the top of my head I can't remember which), her cause of death is listed as "By the visitation of God".....which these days would certainly not be allowed 🤣🤣. I've some ancestors that were of the Quaker faith and I have found some excellent records for those ancestors, because the Quakers were good at keeping records. Last week I ordered an Ancestry DNA kit, so that will be interesting to see what info I get from that.
I'm a huge family history fan so thanks for this. Any idea why the Earnshaw brothers went into business with Wilfred Booth? Not far from my patch... we might share blood from many many years ago. Bob and Dan could be Family 🤣😁😜
Wow came across this video random came up in my news feed and watched it all is that a manchester accent ? my hubby is from there we live in ireland and if i did my family tree it would include poland, england, ireland, australia, usa, canada, I don't think i could afford it to find out, great job 👍
Hello Bob and Jenny thank you so much for sharing this fasinating video which is something I have also done and found so many stories that just brough many family members to life in many ways, some stories not to sweet but, it is what it is and everything I found was very interesting. As I was watching your story I looked up the "British Newspaper Archives" and there are quite a few articles there that may well help you in your quest including, company advertisments, wedding pictures (not good quality) and quite a few stories. Unfortuneatly you have to subcribe but it is certainly worth it. Good luck and take care. 👌
Watched today, and found it very interesting, finding out where family members lived.done the same with my wife, looking for family ancestors. So once again very interesting. Take care and keep those videos coming.
I have traced my family history too, my mums side were from York so I always go past my grandparents house when I am nearby. Fond memories of travelling up to York on the train to stay at my grandparents. Even though you could have seen the houses on street view its not the same as going in person. It somehow makes more of a connection to think you were in the same place albeit many years later.
