A snow dump won't stop the crazy supercars, and we've heard there are some Koenigseggs about! We're in St Moritz with my AMG GT Black Series and hearing word that both a Jesko and CCXR Special Edition are somewhere to be found, the challenge is on to track them down!
Having ventured over to Switzerland for The ICE, a huge amount of snow falling put a stop to the main event due to the weight of it on the frozen lake causing a safety concern. However. that makes for a perfect opportunity to put my winter tyres to the test, and see how the Solarbeam GT Black Series performs on the white stuff.
First up, we manage to spot the CCXR Special Edition from Esser in Germany, parked on display for the day and certainly looking very, very out of place in this kind of weather. The CCXR Special Edition is one of only two made, with a full carbon body, towards the end of the CC series production before the introduction of the Agera models.
As we head around town for some car spotting in the snow, there are plenty of Porsches and G Wagons, but throwing into the mix the likes of a 296 GTB with a ski box! With The ICE not taking place, the show cars are also parked up in a garage where it would be rude not to go over to see the classics and the likes of the Pagani Utopia and Zonda. From a 275P, C-Type, Bulldog, 250 Cal Spyder, DB4 GT Zagato and so much, it's a room with hundreds of millions of cars on display.
However, after hearing that a Koenigsegg Jesko is about, it is of course the mission to find it, and thankfully as the day is drawing to a close we manage to spot it just when we least expected it. Having been parked outside for a few hours, and therefore well and truly camouflaged, the Jesko Absolut from Carage is looking epic, even if we can only see parts of it in the snow.
To wrap up the day, the Marc Philipp Gemballa Marsien is in town! As days go, when the event doesn't take place, it still turns out to be a lot of fun in St Moritz.
