Years ago, I worked as assistant manager at a store. My manager had a HUGE BBQ one weekend and invited me. Now, she had told me years before that her husband and Randy Travis' were cousins. I got to the cookout about 10 minutes too late to meet him. Lol. I was so mad at myself. BTW, I am a North Carolina girl. Randy is also from North Carolina. I love all his music. Three Wooden Crosses is my favorite.

My favorite part of this song is the line "I ain't in love with your hair. If it all fell out, I'd love you anyway". He put it in after he met a a girl with cancer (causing her hair to fall out). Straight class. Love your reactions!

I have always loved this song since it first came out in 1987.When it came out, it was part of the Neo Country music movement that started in the 1980s that featured such artists as The Judds,K.D. Lang,Alan Jackson , Garth Brooks,Brooks and Dunn and many more. It has such a nice melody and beautiful lyrics.Randy Travis has a wonderful voice that is perfectly suited for Country music but I also loved his cover version recording of Brook Benton''s "It's Just a Matter of Time".If you haven't heard it you should check it out.He recorded it as part of a Rock n' Roll and R&B 10 song collection album entitled "Rock,Rhythm & Blues" and was included in his album entitled "No Holdin' Back". Like the woman he sings about in this song, I will always love it "forever and forever ".

Very smooth, very clean, clear, and reaches to the spirit. As for the message we all need this in our entertainment. There's so much garbage out not celebrating marriage. It reminds us, not everything "old" is bad. I think they knew something that modern society forgot, or wasn't taught.

You picked another winner. Randy came with his band to play for our Easter Sunrise Service in Albuquerque about 20 years ago, it was great. After several Gospel tunes, they also played many of their popular music too.

You are absolutely right that when you are raised and see marriage as forever then that is something you desire. One thing my parents did was they didn’t sugar coat it, they told us marriage is a choice and love is a choice, because you choose who you date and therefor choose who you fall in love with. You can’t fall in love if you don’t choose to have them in your life. And they taught me marriage is hard and it is a sacrifice not rainbows and butterflies but through sacrifice for the other it has rewards as well. I always had strong ideas when I was dating and many times that’s why I dated people for such short periods of time because when I saw a future that wasn’t what I wanted I didn’t stick around I ended it. I took a lot of crap for that from friends who’d be in relationships for 2,3,5 years but they knew they didn’t want to marry that person and for me that was a waste of their time and the other persons time. My dad always said “you date to find the person you want to marry” and that stuck hard and I wish more people would realize that not only for themselves but also for the people they are dating. It not right to take someone’s time when you know you don’t see a future and then you risk getting pregnant and having that person in your life because you were too comfortable to end it even though you already knew. When I met my husband I told him up front as soon as I knew I saw him in my future that I wasn’t gonna date for years if he didn’t know in 2 years and hadn’t proposed in 2 years time that I would walk away. 9 months in he proposed and 9 months later we were married. And ladies just know this, when a man know he knows and he’s not gonna strong you along so if you feel like you’re being strung you probably are and all you have to do is cut that string because you deserve a man who knows.
