Puerto del Carmen is of course beautiful, however it is totally unsafe for walking and pedestrians. The promenade along the sea front is given over to cyclists, link scooters, and electric powered vehicles resembling bicycles. Most people use this responsibly but a significant minority behave as hooligans without regard for others. Pedestrian crossings are very dangerous, one way streets, street cafes and hotel pool areas are “aim and go areas”. Walking safely here takes the same concentration as motorway driving.
