I’m not gonna ask you what loneliness means and sound all nerdy but being alone and loneliness are two different words headed in the same direction, they mean almost the same thing except being alone is a literal statement, loneliness is more of a restrictive psychological experience and anyone and almost everyone can experience it.

If you have no company with u, u are alone. Which roots into being lonely. Only until someone actually cares and pays attention to you, is when ur no longer alone.
@@YuuriDFox well the thing is he did have someone who cared for him and that was iruka sensei and before that ramen guy, literally the only reason he went there was because he was lonely and needed someone to talk to.
Because he is luffy, he made all those things look less worse than they actually were. Ace neglected him and Luffy sometimes had near death experiences due to that and in starting dadan didn't wanted to take for him but she had to due to pressure of garp. It's just that it was luffy that made it look wholesome and funny rather than sad.

Naruto did have safety in his village, despite that there were several adult who wanted to kill him. In the first episode Naruto steals a scroll with forbidden jutsu, and the first thing they wanted to do was kill him, there was a group that was even planning on going behind the hokage back and killing him in the woods, and in the manga choji's dad was one of them. Not to mention Naruto didn't find out the reason he was being ostracized until he was 12, so a good chunk of his life he was being ruthlessly bullied and ignored for no reason. Maybe watch the anime before you make this argument.

This is not even close. Sure, Luffy had some rough spots in his childhood, but he was always to be able to bounce back very quickly because there were people who took care of Luffy. Naruto was lonely for almost his entire childhood and was ostracized by his village as a monster. The only reason he did not become one was because he had Iruka who treated like a normal kid.
Iruka also hated him at first because his parents also died to Kurama, he just started to be nice to him after realising he was also bullied as a child.

Just think about this way if you had to pick which life you would experience from birth till they are 18 which would you pick Luffy´s or Naruto´s.
Luffy CHOSE to go through some of those hardships so he could be a great pirate and he ignored his guardians who tried to keep him safe naruto had the entire village hating on him since birth due to something he didnt know or control

@@cheeseboys1700 firstly I never said Luffy had worse childhood than Naruto, well I find it hard to relate to Naruto bc I am mostly an introvert and loner I very good at keeping myself happy , Naruto suffered more bc of his an extrovert and wanted everyone attention , if I was Naruto I would have just cared about teuchi(ramen guy) and 3rd hokage and I wouldn't have cared much about the other villagers ,I might not hate the village (bc i see hating someone a waste of energy) but I wouldn't go out of my way get acknowledged by them either , if Naruto had a family that he had memories with and he remembered losing them with i would understand his pain more but he didnt , naruto never knew what loosing someone u care about felt like until way later when he became a ninja so I can't really sympathize with him that much . Being alone IS worse than being hurt. Also, "had the Hokage looking after him", only if you consider throwing a little child into an appartment, by himself, isn't really looking after him.
To be fair Naruto had a bad enviroment for mental health and Luffy was constantly at risk of dying(often because of Garp). Luffy had better mental health Naruto had better physical health.
Naruto was the son of a hokage but basically grew up poor as hell with no one truly invested in his training or him even living. We saw what kind of father the 3rd was with Asuma he was trash only person 3rd hokage seem to ever care for was Orichomaru. Garp beat up on luffy physically but it was to make him strong and even let him go after his dream of being a pirate and luffy had real friends that become family, hell naruto didn’t even have that till he was a teenager with Jiraya even kakashi put most of his energy into Sasuke
Naruto had it worst for the fact that he was alone for most of his life. The hokage really didn’t look after him that much. He didn’t have a real father figure until iruka accepted him.
Naruto had it worse, and it’s not even close. He was hated by everyone except like 3 or 4 people, had to live on expired milk and ramen for his whole life, had no family, was always alone, always got bullied, oh also not to mention the hokage who was supposed to be looking after him only gave him some allowance, and that’s not even all
And we didn't even mention the fact that Naruto had no parents and at least Luffy has a father, while not directly involved in his life at least he has a fairly good reason for why.
Naruto’s parents died, almost dies in every arc, is the reason Jiryia has that gnarly chest scar, was hated by basically everyone in his village, and was unable to properly use jutsus and was harassed by everyone due to being a jinchuriki, and having his best friend abandon him. Keep in mind that basically ww4 happened on his birthday and neji also died on his bday along with like 50,000 other people. oh yeah i forgot one the only person that gave more than a shit about naruto died to some dude named pain, after that there was only 4 people that gave a shit about him, ichiraku and iruka when naruto was a little kid, sakura after the land of waves ark, and tsnade after the search for tsunade ark. All that really happened to luffy is him being thrown in the woods, he thinks sabo dies, robin leaves then they save her, and ace dies.
Honestly I'm gonna have to say that Luffy's childhood was pretty messed up, he just doesn't care about it and doesn't let it bother him. While Naruto cardied that trauma with him when he grew up.
One of them literally had a fun childhood that did have certain unfortunate aspects but the other had literally no one and hated everything. Like if he had the option luffy would 100% go back to being a kid but naruto would not

Ok, it is not even close. Sure, Luffy did suffer mote physical abuse compared to Naruto, but they only lasted for a short while. More importantly, Luffy had people he can talk to if he was having any trouble. When Sabo ‘died’, Luffy still had Ace to help him process his emotions. When Shanks sacrifices his arm to save Luffy, Shanks comforted Luffy that it was ok because and that incident just taught Luffy a lesson about being ready to become a pirate. Whenever something terrible happened to Luffy, he was able to bounce back soon after, especially when he had other people looking after him. Naruto, on the other hand, only had Iruka, and was ostracized by the entire village. Sure, the Third Hokage made sure Naruto had a roof over his head and food to eat, but he rarely interacted directly with Naruto. Naruto was miserable for almost his entire childhood and he could have become worse had it not been for Iruka offering a supporting hand and believe in Naruto to become a great ninja one day.

Everyone say that Naruto was alone ALL his childhood, but realy it was to age of idk 5 maybe 6, but don't forget about: Hinata, Shikamaru and Choji. Luffy before he get to Goa Kingdom was also alone and had only Garp (that is why he wanted to became friends with Ace and Sabo) Reason why Narutos backstory is sadder is cuz Luffy didn't care that much about the sad things or lonelynes (tell Sabo died)He was still going and geting stronger and he was smiling when he was happy, Naruto was smiling even when he was sad.

Only sad thing that happened with luffy is he lost his brother. He fell in many trouble but he over come those with the help from his brothers. He was loved by ace,sabo, shanks, garp, dadan and the whole village along with Makino. So i did not get it how his childhood is sad.
Definitely Naruto physical pain is nothing compared to what Naruto and Gaara had to go through, his parents died even before he was born and he was kind of a direct cause for his father Minato dying so there is that guilt. Also having people hate him just for being born is in a whole other league of agony, I love both the characters but honest Uzumaki had it worse

For the people saying Naruto had it significantly worse needs to understand that it is just based on perspective. Mental pain and loneliness is worse for some people but physical pain and constant fear of death can also be just as worse. Just beacuse luffy laughs it off doest mean that a average person will not have truama with the conditions he went through. Aslo luffy was also disliked by both sabo and ace when they met and they avoided him and even tried to kill him multiple times but luffy persisted through and made them his family. Luffys fear of loneliness comes from garp constantly leaving him alone in forests and valleys where his life is constantly in danger . Luffy would rather have people who hate and avoid him arround than being physically alone which is different from Naruto
That's the point. We all know every shounen protag is kinda overpowered in their child form than any other normal kid (plot armor). And I really think every shounen's MC would rather hard living in the jungle who also raise their strength and skill (I count it as a hard training) from their granpa (really, garp loved Luffy he know Luffy would survive those days in the jungle. Beside, he ask Dadan who also obey his request so they would not courage enough to hurt his grandson). And for Naruto... Nah, MC shounen have a common emotional side, they would not enjoying to be hated by your entire enviroment and don't have the one who trully genuie loving you. Like Luffy said he would rather hurt than being alone, cause beling alone is really bad for him
Naruto was always alone, until the war happened. That was when people began to notice how awesome he is. But he did have his victory appreciated at the end of the pain arc as well. Naruto definitely had it worse. Luffy had people who made it possible for him to keep doing what he does best, fighting to achieve what he believes in. Meanwhile naruto had to act out and make a mess constantly just to get people’s attention because he can’t stand sulking around like some depressed people. Luffy’s painful moments were definitely way more painful to watch than Naruto’s (obviously) but I honestly can say that naruto never lost someone he met and fought with simply because he’s Naruto. He’s literally the definition of awesome.

Also Luffy had a voice on the matter. Naruto was forced into his life of being alone and sad while Luffy chose to do most of it. He made those friends, chose to not rat them out for hours of torture. He willingly chose most of the sad things which arguably makes his less sad then Naruto's

Yes, but Naruto was alone with some help of the hokage and Iruka while luffy had ace, garp, and Sabo, and many more people looking after him plus luffy also had the fear of being alone. But Naruto also lived in poverty and was alone most of the time.
Yeh I know how much loneliness hurts i am even crying while writing this but I always had to put a smile on my face wether it is real or fake i have no friends because of constant transfers and my family lives too far away

You actually have to be delusional to think Luffy's childhood is comparable to Naruto's, Naruto's was far worse and it's not even a contest. Luffy actually had people who cared for him, was always having fun with his two older brothers and even had a role model like Shanks he wanted to become like. While Naruto was hated and treated horribly by pretty much everyone in the village, had no one looking after him except for the 3rd Hokage giving him money to live off, didn't have anyone in his life actually care about him until around the time he became a Genin. And the 3rd Hokage did somewhat care about Naruto but didn't do nearly enough to prevent his childhood suffering as he was pretty much the only one with the power to prevent it. Sure Luffy had some dangerous moments in his childhood and sabo did "die" but losing someone is not as bad as never having anyone to begin with, Luffy's childhood wasn't even bad tbh, sure it wasn't perfect but he was happy during his childhood outside when Sabo "died".

I love luffy but tgis is literally a debate of who had it rough from the beginning. Even sasuke said something in their final fight when he was using his shadow clones. That he uses his clones as a distraction of reality that naruto is lonely and was alone from the beginning.

Luffy had a pretty bad childhood afterall in the anime it says that grandpa garp will throw him in the jungle and leave him but also his dad dragon and his mom witch is unknown also he had to see shanks loose his arm because he was helpless to a sea king left him for his grandpa also Naruto had the nine tail fox in him witch made the village hate him so if you would ask me there pretty equal.

Tbh, they had it about the same, in terms of who had to train more while constantly being hated on by his own brother and village, Luffy, but Naruto had nothing from the start, he wasn't really hated as much as people were just scared of him, but overall, Naruto had a worse childhood while being a crybaby, and Luffy had a pretty bad childhood but did something about it, but Sanji had the worst childhood throughout both anime.
