Work together and talk through them, but if there is a disagreement then do separate picks on that bottle. See if you can figure out all 4. Maybe have them all be between 100 and 115 proof.

Blinds always tell the... (hard) truth. HA! See what I did there? That 1792 Full Proof in 1st would have been my guess here, it tends to punch up in blinds, and Kurt seems to be favoring Wild Turkey a bit less when it's blinded. If you're ever in need of more video subjects, you can always do videos with several whiskies distilled in a single state blinded. Every state in the country is making whiskey, that will keep you busy!

Whatever whiskey type/category you pick, you should consider selecting more than 3 each. The more you select, the harder it would be for each of you to pick out your own bottles.

I was surprised how much I liked 1792 Full Proof. I thought the small batch was average. Not sure I would put it above Rare Breed.

I think yall should do a blind of your favorite bottom shelf whiskeys. Who has the best taste of the cheapest.

Did not hear you guys say if these were your first drinks of the day. I like 1792 Full Proof but if I start the evening with it all I get is heat until the third or fourth sip.

This was definitely a lot of fun. In my mind, I think I would have picked them about like Kurt did, so I declare him the winner. But then, you never know how things will turn out in a blind.

I'd have to side with Kurt as the winner. His tie breaker logic is sound. Maybe next time assign a point value to each bourbon that get's 3rd (1 point), 2nd (2 points), or 1st (3 points).

This was a fun challenge!! I’ve found that the thicker walled black glens provide a different tasting and nosing experience than traditional thinner walled glens. Not that it’s bad, just different. Perhaps a “blind” with a mix of glass types where one or two whiskies are repeated using different glasses might be fun or at least educational.

Some Glencairns have a dimple/pit in the bottom which may contribute to the lighter glass weight. You can feel when washing. Ive called my lady on same thing with a blind using clear glasses, volume poured looked well different, but it was the dimple

Y'all should try blinding your infinity bottles against good quality equivalents So like have one glass with a rye infinity bottle, one with a bourbon infinity bottle, and then an unknown rye and an unknown bourbon and rank them

Hard Truth had always had that smell for me as well. Even the rye. I like the pallet but the nose on them aren't the best.

But i think a better tasting based on the title for this video is if you take the top four bourbons from a National tasting or competition and then do a blind and see if you can line it up the same way. That way you’d be able to parse out what the top tasters are looking for. This would just be a good change up to your regular format. In this video you’re really just doing what you usually do, and your tastes don’t viable

I suspect y'all are going to have some stuff I've never tasted, which will prevent me from being certain. But my money's on Kurt. Nobody who gets the bizarre tasting notes Trenton does can possibly win this competition. 🙂 10:06 I've not had any of these, but I betcha that Hard Truth is good. Their Sweet Mash Bourbon is good, and the Sweet Mash Rye is superb. 15:01 There are some whiskies where I have to remind myself to leave off sniffin' and go to sippin', the nose is so wonderful. But in the end, if I don't care for the taste I'm not a-gonna drink it.
