As someone who had this exact problem I can say I think he needs to practice to build up the volume because how he sang is how I sang when being to loud causes your voice to crack. I still don't sound amazing at all lol but I can definitely sing louder now without my voice giving out after like a year of practice lol. So yeah I definitely think he has potential but I think he stayed quiet so he had better control of his voice (I'm not at all a professional and have never been to any classes I'm only speaking on this based on how similar it seems to my voice when singing)
Okay but I think Kane shocked us and himself I'm so proud lol Also, I love Darren's voice bc it makes me think of when me and my friends just belted out lyrics. We didn't sound professional by any means but it was that kind of singing that you'll only do together one the best nights. Specifically road trips! Wow okay I think I just miss my friends and Darren acts a lot like them and now I'm missing them more and connecting things XD That being said, his voice really does make me happy. ALSO SEB DANG BOY (I knew the extent of Oliver's voice but not his)
