Marvel found inspiration in history when it used tales of West African women warriors as the basis for the fearsome Dora Milaje in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The fictional, fearsome, and all-female Dora Milaje in the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever were inspired by a real group of African warriors: the Agojie. Nat Geo contributing writer Rachel Jones shares the history of the Agojie and discusses the way that movies and pop culture can shape our understanding of the world.

The Dora Milaje of Wakanda were inspired by the Dahomey women warriors Europeans dubbed "Amazons", after the Greek mythology warriors. They were meat bags at best, decimated every time they faced battle. All while defending the Kingdom of Dahomey's slave trade. You're welcome. I saved you 30min of your life.

Does that make you feel good to put down a culture and women? You must feel very superior to all the educated people who have giver so much information to so many people over the decades they have written wonderful magazines and discovered lost kingdom and great ship wrecks and showed them on Cable TV. So sad to be so egotistical.

@@rebeccawhite7448 I have never read Comic books or do I go to movies she must have been referring to. At any rate my comments still stand. At 75 year's old I have always been an avid reader of National Geographic documentaries and the magazine.

So in english if a noun has two parts you don't pluralize both: it's either "woman warriors" or "warrior women." Try it out and you'll see it just doesn't sound right: "men warriors"? "Amazons warriors"? "Americans Trucks"?
