I used to be a Trinitarian in one of the world’s largest religious denominations for 53 years and taught and raised my own family the same for 18 years. I continued in this teaching right up until the day God had mercy on me and sent me the Holy Spirit who led me into all the truth (John 16:13). What does the Spirit have to say about this? If you have eyes to see and ears to hear, listen: “At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for HIDING THESE THINGS FROM THOSE WHO THINK THEMSELVES WISE AND CLEVER, and for REVEALING THEM TO THE CHILDLIKE. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way.” (Luke 10:21) “Truly I tell you,” He said, “unless you change and become like little children, you will NEVER ENTER the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt. 18:3) Now, remember that show, “Are you smarter than a 5th grader”? Are you willing to be humble and be like a child? Take the test yourself and find out. The topic is based on the doctrine of the Trinity. This doctrine declares the Godhead is triune being comprised of Father, Son and Holy Spirit who are “co-equal” with each other and “are all God”. Without being a bible scholar or having to twist scripture, this is really quite simple. Ready to test yourself? Elementary 5th grade reading and basic 2nd grade math show us the truth of this matter; hence being like a child just like our Lord said: Open your Bible, go to the gospel of John and read the following verses for yourself: John 1:1-3. Now do the basic math. How many God beings do you count? 2 or 3? Having established that both the Father and the Son are God from what you just read, now read the following verses: John 5:17, 5:19, 5:20, 5:21, 5:22, 5:23, 5:26, 5:30, 5:36, 8:28, 12:50, 10:30, 14:6, 14:23, 14:28, 15:10, 17:3, 17:5, Rom. 1:1, Rom. 1:27, 1 Cor. 1:3, 1 Cor. 1:9, 1 Cor. 8:6-7, 1 Cor. 15:27-28, 2 Cor. 1:2-3, Eph. 1:2, 5:20, Philip. 1:2, Col. 1:3, 1 Thess. 1:3, 2 Thess. 1:2, Phil. 1:3, Heb. 1:8-13, 1 Peter 1:3, 2 Peter 1:2, 1 John 1:3, 1: John 5:20, 2 John 1:3, 2 John 1:9, Rev. 3:12, 7:10, 21:22-23. Now do the basic math. How many God beings do you count? 2 or 3? Now, ask honestly ask yourself, where in this world does 1 + 1 =3? The Spirit can keep going on with many more verses just like this. If you have the humility to be honest with yourself and what you just read, you will see the plain truth and the trinity doctrine is debunked. If the Holy Spirit was in fact God, why was he left out of all those verses? What happened to being co-equal? Little children truly believe in Santa Claus in all sincerity up until the day they discover the ugly truth of the matter, right? This isn’t any different. Why anyone would continue to believe in a lie after the truth has been revealed with the preponderance of overwhelming evidence? Ripping the band aid off hurts, doesn’t it? But, “the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). So now that you have read and seen the truth for yourself, do you still believe in the false trinity doctrine or did you fail the 5th grade test? If you failed it and still believe in the doctrines of men and not God, go to your Bible and read John 8:47. That is the harsh reality friend. Another biblical fact: Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the Holy Spirit is God. Nowhere! Christ also said, “the Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). Clearly, Christ by his very statement of fact said they are NOT co-equal! This totally scotches the doctrine of the trinity that claims the Father, Son and Spirit are co-equal. Who on earth would dare call Christ a liar? It’s sheer foolishness! How can anyone believe in the false doctrine of the trinity after reading the gospel of John? The gospel of John and other books of the Bible clearly testify that the doctrine of the triune god is a lie (John 1:1-3). The word “trinity” isn’t even written anywhere in the Bible, why would anyone believe it? The world foolishly says about the Spirit of God that he is “God the Spirit”. Christ tells us that “God IS spirit” (John 4:24). Do you see how foolish this is already? Why does God need a Spirit if he already IS spirit? It is the Spirit of God. The word “OF” being paramount as the Spirit belongs to God and Christ; the word “OF” denotes possession/ownership. They own it and they sent it (John 16:15) Don’t know who the Holy Spirit is? Simple, read John 1:51 and Hebrews 1:7, 1:14, and Psalm 104:4. There is our Helper in plain sight yet most are so blinded by the years of false teaching and lies they can’t see the truth. Angel of the Lord, Angel of God, Spirit of God, the Spirit of the Lord, the Spirit = Holy Spirit. Read Hebrews 1:7 and Psalm 104:4. Now go to the Book of Acts and read Acts 2:1-4 (The Coming of the Holy Spirit). This isn’t hard to figure out. Still can’t see? Paul cautioned us about false humility and the worship of angles (Col. 2:18). The Holy Spirit warned John twice in the Book of Revelation that he should not be worshiped (Rev. 19:10, 22:8-9). Let’s really simplify this: If a fallen angel is a demon/evil spirit that belongs to Satan (Rev. 12:7), then an angel of God can only be what? A Holy Spirit because he belongs to God who is holy (Lev. 11:44, 1 Peter 1:16). Think about it, if the Holy Spirit was a single 3rd person of the Godhead, how is it even possible we can we all have him? See how foolish this is already? Do I get the Holy Spirit today and borrow him to you tomorrow? Can you see how foolish this world’s wisdom is. The answer is found again in Matthew 18:10 for it is written: “Beware that you don't look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven THEIR ANGELS are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.” (Matt. 18:10). The words “their angels” (Holy Spirit) shows ownership. The Holy Spirit for each one of us was not sent until Christ came into his glory (John 7:39). Let the Bible explain itself, it's quite simple and straightforward. The teaching is very simple without having to twist scripture and believe in something that just isn't there like the word “trinity”. Biblical truth is solely based on the word of God (John 17:17) It’s time to unlearn one of the greatest lies of so called “modern Christianity”. Believe in what Christ said and taught. Believe in what is actually and clearly written in the word of God and not in the invented mythology or eisegesis of men. Get this, if you are worshiping the pagan invented god known as the “trinity”, you will never, ever receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:32) as you are breaking the 1st Commandment, a spiritual law of God’s coming kingdom (Rom. 7:14, Rev. 11:19) by creating your own god made up in the mythology and eisegesis of men. “that their hearts may be encouraged, being KNIT together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, BOTH of the FATHER AND OF CHRIST, IN WHOM are hidden ALL the treasures of WISDOM and KNOWLEDGE.” (Col. 2:2-3 NKJV). Whom has ALL the treasures of wisdom and knowledge as you just read? The Father and Christ. Again, how many God beings do you count? 2 or 3? Lay down your pride and what you think you know about God and the Bible and unlearn the lies. Repent and let God through the Holy Spirit teach you. Unless you become like a child, you will never enter the Kingdom of God. Forget what you think you know as the Lord has sent me to reveal the simplicity of his teaching in spirit and truth. Finally, let’s read Proverbs 30:4 together: “Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is HIS NAME, and what is HIS SON’S NAME, If you know? One more time, how many God beings do you count? 2 or 3? Still don’t believe it? Let’s continue reading the rest of it: “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. DO NOT ADD TO HIS WORD, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.” (Prov. 30:5-6) FACT: The word “trinity” isn’t found anywhere in the Bible as it is “added” to His word. So now ask yourself, who is the liar? If today you hear his voice, harden not your heart! Repent for the Kingdom of God is near!

This whole video is inaccurate. Grossly inaccurate and I don’t understand why you aren’t ashamed. Christianity from the start was Trinitarian . The Trinity is not developed over time. Already in the letters of Paul there is clearly trinitarian theology. The gospels of Mark and Matthew depict Jesus not just divine but YHWH. The theological language developed, but the belief in the Trinity was there from the very start. The Council of Nicea was to address the Arianism dispute (among other stuff) and NOT to settle the trinity or to somehow invent it: both camps were Trinitarian. How Jesus is God was the issue: was he the first creation thus divine but not equal to the Father, thus not YHWH (Arius) or Jesus was pre-existing, equal to the Father , thus YHWH. The Christian Easter is determined by lunar calendar from either Julian or the Gregorian calendar. The date of the Easter is a calendar issue and not a theological or dogmatic issue.

Any religion who claims to be Christian but espouses Trinitarian doctrine is not truly Christian. Jesus Christ and the Apostles never taught Trinity and is nowhere found in the Bible. Nor those who believe Christ is a deity, or not a Man. So, Catholicism, Protestantism and Eastern Orthodox are never Christian.

It’s cringe-worthy when Christian’s use 1 John 5:7 to justify a trinity. They don’t realize that at the bottom of that page in most bibles, the footnotes admit that this verse was NOT found in ANY early manuscript and that it was ADDED into the Latin vulgate. It’s a completely fabricated verse. Yet Christian’s use it to justify their Pauline belief. They accept Paul who never met Jesus and merely had a “vision”. Yet they reject Mormon founder Joseph smith who also never met Jesus and merely claimed for have a “vision”.

The church is more than just the Eastern Church or Western Church. It's the whole body of believers who follow Christ. Let the Eastern and Western Churches argue theology and ritual with each other. I'll keep my eye on the prize... I left the Roman Catholic Church when I was 9. I felt that the Church didn't preach Christ and Salvation clearly enough. At that time, my Jewish Father and my Irish Catholic Mother got divorced. Mom became a Presbyterian and Dad converted to Roman Catholicism and I became an Evangelical. In old testament word "Elohim" ( which is more than one) is used for 2500 times. The Jews are well aware that this word suggests that there are more than one Persons. Jews tried to stone Jesus when He claimed to be the Son of God because they were aware that there were more than one person referred to in Godhead in O.T. and thus He (Jesus) claimed to be equal with God by calling Himself the Son of God. ( by the way Son is only a title just like Messiah, Prince of peace, Eternal Father etc)

i was struggling with my faith for about 2 years, sometimes i could not get to sleep thinking about it, but last year i asked a christian on a youtube video comment section "where is the trinity mentioned in the old testament"? he answered me, it is implied in isaiah 48:16, i used my smartphone to communicate on youtube with my left hand, and used my right hand single handedly to open up the bible to look up this verse, i opened the page at random, it was isaiah chapter 48, the fingertip on my index finger landed at random as i opened the bible on verse 16, this is i believe god showing me, out of all the pages my fingertip lands on the very verse, and this is not a page i opened up before, as sometimes a page, on any book, can naturally open up on a page opened up frequently, but this page had not been opened before.

ex-atheist here. I met Christ in a world more real than this one. I held on to his robe and my soul physically felt him place the whole universe into perfect order. It was the best moment of my life. 1 Timothy 3:16 explains everything you need to know about nature of God.

Matthew 28:19 Jesus said: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost”. So the Trinity was mentioned by Jesus Christ Himself. John 5:23 Jesus also said: “that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him”. Jesus refers to Himself as the Son of God. When all this is put into the context of the life of Jesus, the miracles He performed, that He was crucified, died on the cross and rose from the dead, and that He did proclaim Himself to be God, we truly believe He is the Son of God and we believe in the Holy Trinity and the divinity of Jesus Christ.

The almighty triune Godhead revealed the trinity. "Who invented it" is a sneakily leading question, with only one answer. Nobody, because the Trinity is not an invention, but a revelation. "Let US make man in OUR image."... Or, how about "Let US go down and confuse their language." Jesus said "you should have known of me because Moses wrote of me." Go read Isaiah 53 with honesty. In fact, after you read Isaiah 53, go back and read the whole book of Isaiah and read Isaiah 53 again in full context. He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquity. He was despised and rejected by his own people. Upon him God laid the iniquity of us all. YOU DON'T REALLY THINK HE WAS TALKING ABOUT JEREMIAH DO YOU???? He was prophesying Mashiach.

Idolatry is a self-inflicted wound from which Christians have never recovered? Could you give examples of what you're meaning, outside the Catholic church? My father's church, where he preached ( before I was born), is on Peoria, near Woodward Park, in Tulsa, OK. I don't remember ANY idolatry. It's pretty stones on the outside, but just painted cinder blocks on the inside. There were nice pews, linoleum, old red carpeting, in 1979. My aunt had to call, for my sister to be married there, since she wasn't attending. What idolatry? I had a painting of The Holy Family mysteriously show up in my living room in 1986, the year I gave birth to my son. Who invented the Trinity? Oh, Mr. Singer, if all your questions were that easy. The Trinity wasn't so much "invented" as it was the original dream team of the cosmos, hanging out and brainstorming the universe long before anyone else even knew there was a universe to brainstorm about. They were the ultimate trio, the cosmic committee, making sure everything was in place before we even knew what "in place" meant. The Old Testament gets us started on this with Isaiah 48:13, where God says, "My own hand laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they all stand up together." It's like God giving us a sneak peek into the grand construction project of the cosmos. Then the New Testament jumps in with John 1:1-3, setting the scene with: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." It's the ultimate throwback to the moment when the Word, a.k.a. Jesus, teamed up with the Father and the Holy Spirit to kickstart everything we know and love today. An excellent discussion of the artifice of the Trinity. Like many corruptions of the teachings of the Rabbi from Nazareth, the Gospels are internally inconsistent regarding the Trinity. In John 14:25-26, Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit or "Advocate" as a separate concept that would follow after he departed his Disciples: "All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you." Indeed, as predicted by Jesus in John, the Holy Spirit comes later, a separate entity, as related in Acts 2:1-4: "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit." Beyond the obvious point, that one cannot be both Father and Son, the logical gyrations to support or refute Trinitarianism are silly.

The question was: “What think ye of Christ?” But what good could come from the ‘clarifiers’ and establishers of dogma at the synod of Ephesus in 449 who, in fury, abandoned the discussion and went for each other with cudgels, until one party was defeated and accepted the ruling of the stronger party. The dispute concerning the status of Jesus Christ became particularly fierce when those Church Fathers who sided with Arius took a stand against the doc­trine of the Trinity, which was then being formulated. The dispute focused on an essential problem which the Church in those days had not yet clarified. While certain ecclesiastical authorities were at­tempting to establish the doctrine of the Trinity, Arius presented a different view: “The Father begat His only begotten Son many aeons ago, and through Him created the Aeons and the universe. Commenting on this in his book “The Emperor Constantine and the Christian Church”, Edward Schwartz writes: “It was quite unheard of that a uni­versal article of faith should come into be­ing merely on the authority of the Emperor, who as a catechumen was not even admitted to the mystery of the Eucharist, and who had not the slightest right to take part in discussions concern­ing the most profound mysteries of the Faith. Yet not one Bishop dared to speak a word in opposition to this monstrous hap­pening.” The Council of Nicea gave assent to this dogma, not as a result of Christian delib­erations but through the force of imperial politics. The Emperor gave Arius a gracious reception, but his command was not obeyed by Athanasius, the most pow­erful opponent of Arius, and the hoped-for reconciliation between these two did not take place. Schism means a split or division between strongly opposed groups. There weren't a multitude of schisms in Christianity from the very beginning as rabbi Singer claims. Had that been the case then many separate Christian Churches would have emerged once Christianity was legalized. Occasionally there were different interpretations but they rarely resulted in schisms. Only gnostic groups in Egypt went their separate ways and were shunned by the mainstream Christian Church. Singer has an awful habit of deprecatory exaggerations when it comes to Christianity. The term Trinity may have been first used by Tertullian but he did not invent the concept. The epiphany of the Trinity took place at Christ's baptism and it is described by all three authors of the Synoptic gospels. God the Father's voice is heard and the Holy Spirit appears as part of the Triune God. In fact the feast of the Theophany is the first Christian feast day that was celebrated from virtually the beginning of Christianity. Singer has a very superficial and oversimplified knowledge and understanding of Christianity based little more than Wikipedia. In desperation he grabs on to all kinds of stories that have not been historically verified. On top of that his unrestrained hatred and hostility toward Christianity keeps intruding just too much in all his talks. Only an ignorant person would take his lectures seriously.

Okay. The "trinity" is simply the syncretic combination that happened as the polytheistic "pagan" gods were consolidated into the "monotheistic" Christian god. The henotheism referenced is sort of a transitional condition of believing in a sort of super-god with any number of subordinate or inferior gods which ultimately more or less stabilized in the absurd "triune God". As with any compromise, it's far more an evolution than a design, but as it turns out is a pretty good filtering criteria. Anyone who doesn't accept the triune God... OUT!
