Namjoon (RM) and Suga (Yoongi) had a lot of pent up anger because of all the hard times they went through. As the video said, Namjoon got hate comments because he became an idol, which is looked down upon by underground rappers. Also, the beauty standards problem, which is really stupid but thats their society. They are also LGBT supporters in a very close minded country, which is a big thing itself. Yoongi said in an interview how "everyone is equal" when they were asked about it. Also, Yoongi got hate comments because of becoming an idol too, but also because of his feminine looks. As tough as he looks on stage, his looks are very soft and delicate and he's extremely pretty, but again, korean beauty standards. Hoseok (J-Hope) had it a bit easier since he wasn't involved in any underground scene, he was a street dancer before he became a trainee. He learned to rap and during the years he tried to find his own style. He did have his own issues tho, he doesn't handle stress well and he used to have panic attacks often in the beginning. They made the Cyphers (1, 2, 3 and 4) to respond to their haters and you can see how they're really aggressive in the beginning, especially Cypher 2 which was made as a response to B-Free calling Yoongi and Namjoon girls for wearing makeup on stage. Cypher 4 is not that angry because by that time (2016) they already had their fair share of awards and many supportive comments and they were better at dealing with the hate that comes with being a k-pop idol. Ddaeng is a song that can also be considered a Cypher because it's also about haters and fake friends, being about how their "friends" from other companies looked down on them because they were in a small company and struggled a lot with money. Also, since they started being known worldwide and even performed at the BBMAs and AMAs, people started saying how they need western validation and other bs like that. Ddaeng is a song made based on korean traditional music and the rap line (RM, Suga, J-Hope) respond directly to it. I also recommend reacting to their mixtapes, RM, Agust D and Hope World. This is the best way to see their own styles and how Hoseok managed to find his. Namjoon's mixtape, RM, is about his identity struggle, the hate and he talks about his mental health. Yoongi's mixtape, Agust D, is also about his own mental health, his struggles, and the hate he got. By far Yoongi's is the most aggressive mixtape because for him music was the only way to express his feelings. He let them all out in his mixtape. Agust D means DT Suga, DT being Daegu Town, his hometown. He's very proud of it so he makes sure to include in many of his lyrics. Also, currently he's not that savage and silent anymore, he's literally a fluff ball. Hoseok's mixtape, Hope World, talks about his struggles, about how he wants to give people positive energy, being a "piece of peace", but also about his idol struggles. The lack of privacy, the need to act in a certain way, even tho BigHit is one of the greatest companies and always makes sure the boys have as much freedom as they can, the k-pop industry still has rules they have to follow. This became really long and honestly I don't know who would take some time to read it, but I'll just hope for the best. ^^

Taehyung aka V is a unique special human being. The more you learn about him, the more you fall in love with this dorky, quirky, witty and hilarious individual!!

About korean beauty standards , for idols they like delicate figure , so idols that have a strong face like RM and jhope they get called out "ugly" or "intimidating" , Korean beauty standards are really different from Western , and it's not just BTS members suffered about it , a lot others groups get criticised and a lot , but now that kpop it's getting more popular worldwide some idols that were criticised before for their looks are getting more recognized . Just so you now idols there have to be a role model so they have to be "perfect" . perfect skin , hair , they have to be skinny , can't get involved in scandal with drugs or dates or anything controversial or they can have their reputation destroyed .

Awesome video! I'm glad you guys are getting to know BTS! The thing is, BTS kind of were handpicked, so Mark is right. But it was a mixture of being scouted, auditioning, and being handpicked. The creator of BTS, Bang PD, centred the group around finding the right people to be with RM (so RM is the heart of BTS, really). Another thing is BTS are an anomaly in the kpop industry. They're from a small company called Big Hit, and usually groups from small companies don't gain any success, much less the kind BTS got. The most successful groups are usually from the "Big 3" companies, which are SM, YG, and JYP. BTS also produce and write I'd say a good 90% of their songs which not a lot of kpop idols do. Usually their companies just give them songs. All of BTS (except maybe Jin and V) are also not the conventions of Korean beauty, especially compared to other groups, so when they debuted, everyone laughed and said they were ugly and weren't going to be successful, coming from a small company. If you want to know why they're so close, it's because they live together. Since like 2010, they've been living, all 7 of them, in a tiny apartment where they all shared one room. Now they're successful enough to move to one of the richest places in Korea to live together with their own rooms.

they debuted in 2013 but started training 2010-2011. all kpop groups go through training before actually debuting. they were not friends before 2010-2011 but have been living together since then and there relationships with each other are like brothers RM has an IQ of 148 so he was able to teach himself english watching friends yes ARMY was formed in july, we recently celebrated our 5th birthday on the 9th i feel like you guys are OT7, you love all the members. keep in mind you can still have a bias and love all seven. like my bias is RM but i still love all of them equally. as V said BTS is made up of seven guys, love them all.

idk if anyone's told you yet, but many of the BTS videos all link together and tell a story that's set in a fictional universe, and there are tons of clues and theories about the story. It's one of my favourite things about the BTS fandom.
