The Marine Corps' recent Medal of Honor recipient has been cited for his humility throughout his time in the public spotlight. Dakota Meyer and his friends and family talk about what makes Dakota tick.
@Aiden Cooper ALL MARINES have stories, Devildog, even you I bet! The question is are they the kind of stories you tell your buddies or your mother?? LOL!! SEMPER FIDELIS!
He is the most humble person I have ever seen... when asked if he was a hero...and he said,if everyone that served honorably is a hero then yes, ... the most magnanimous statement I have heard in a long time... you are an inspiration for a whole generation that needs to but will never hear of you...
Marines like Dakota Meyer and Kyle Carpenter, through their great courage, their total commitment to their fellow Marines and their modesty are an inspiration us today. Thankfully they show there are still young people today who will step up and put their lives on the line for their fellow Marines and their country. Deepest respect and admiration to you, may God bless your future path
ill tell you who sgt Dakota meyer is,hes a national hero who put it all out there to ensure more marines would 1 day enjoy parenthood and grandparenthood! that's who that man is and I have nothing but the highest respect for that fine marine and am proud to call him my brother marine!
The guy earned the Medal of Honor, that is a very cherished accomplishment in the USA. This particular man put his life on the line in order to help others live. So don't "cringe" when his football coach or anyone else is associated with the man. People want to know about these things. The young man has a background and he is not a murderer, but a good man, a good man who saved lives or attempted to.
I served while he was in. God bless America and the heroes that emerges from her. This has got to be one of the greatest generation in American history. Don’t you guys ever forget that
I'm so lucky that this hero was born and raised in the same little town in Kentucky as me. He's a huge reason I want to serve, and I couldn't be more thankful to have someone like Sgt. Meyer to look up to
We are so abudentley blessed with the greatest military on earth!! All our guys are so humble and gracious! I found out first hand this past Christmas of 19 when a young Sergeant from FortBragg brokedown enroute to his family on leave we all totally showed him the utmost respect while he was here he was shocked from all the help he got! Thank you Sargeant d.h. for all you do! We love and respect our awesome soldiers in Marion Nc 🇱🇷🇱🇷!!!
Here is the incredible part.....Meyer and Sgt Chavez requested to go into this killing zone...think about that... what would you have done...eh! Now after the first journey into this hell zone they probably realized that their chances of doing it again was ...nil...Yet, Meyer and the Sgt probably thought of their comrades that were taking fire were wondering when help would arrive... I think this was the mindset throughout the ordeal...that Meyer and Chavez were all the help those troops were going to get... so they did it time and time again...I cant imagine the terror these men endured....I think this is why this action will be communicated for years to come to new recruits in any service for America.....I hope all Americans can appreciate this kind of service that our service men and women do everyday and are never heard of....
Dakota Meyer is a man, a proud American, Kentuckian, a patriot of the USA, and yet he is also a servant of God, a Marine Sergeant of uncommon valor, gallantry, bravery, courage, and at the end of the day a true American hero! Sgt Meyer, sir your actions that fateful day resonate even to this day your willingness to not only save the lives of your team but of Americans serving throughout the globe, you did your country proud sir, well done and Semper Fi Marine!
Your An Awesome Marine Devil Dog.. Thank you for giving people the incite on the USMC Values.. People just don't understand that you will do anything for your fellow Marine... Its about a Brotherhood that is everlasting after a Combat Tour.... Semper Fi...and Thank You.. Doc Gonzo (FMF/Retired)
I believe Dakota now lives in another state, but regardless all of our men and women who serve our country are my heroes, and he is as humble as they come, he doesn't seek the spotlight, in his opinion he's just a regular Marine, but you've made our country so very proud Sgt!
There is no greater example of American heroism then these few men that have given their all it makes me proud to be an American may God bless you all!
Dakota I can't imagine getting a medal for the day my brother s died I understand 💯 u did more in 1 day than a life time how brave were your brother Marines that went on that village knowing it could be a ambush they gave all the medal is for them I believe
Marines are taught to take the initiative in an attempt to resolve the problem. Especially, if you're in a position to determine what is necessary to complete your mission. 2/9 1st Platoon Echo Company, 3rd Marine Division.
.....A BOY BECAME A MAN. THANKS MR. MYER FOR YOUR COURAGE AND CONVICTION TO AID YOUR COMRADES EVEN TOWARDS DEATH OR INJURY TO YOURSELF....THE DNA OF SELF SACRIFICE IS ALIVE AND WELL REPRESENTED IN YOUR GENERATION!!
“Well, do you call every other Marine or soldier or anyone who is serving the country a hero? Then you can call me a hero. But if you’re not going to call them a hero for the same reasons you call me a hero then don’t do it.”-Dakota Meyer🇺🇸🇺🇸👏🇺🇸🇺🇸👏🇺🇸🇺🇸👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Way to put Adair County on the map, sir! Now we need for you to run for office. We need men of your caliber and your honor in the Kentucky State government. We need men of your caliber in Congress.
him and his buddy drove into basically a 180 degree ambush to put injured guys and dead bodys in the truck and did it multiple times making over 3 trips i think while being basically under fire the entire time
SEMPER FI MY BROTHER, I AM A JARHEAD LIKE YOU. LIKE YOU I WISHED I WAS NOT HERE. BETTER TO DIE,, THEN LIVE AND REGRET THE BOYS YOU LEFT THERE,,,, BE YOU,, YOU SHOULD BE PROUD, ,, SEMPER FIDELIS MY BROTHER
I might be totally wrong, but I do have an idea about this one. Didn't you say Louisiana? That and the dude's last name give me an idea. I have family in what's called "Bayou Country," and at the time frame mentioned, the people there were devoutly and almost without exception, Roman Catholic. Among that demographic, about the worst sin, a person could commit was suicide. It would be for Mr. Robichaux a perfectly reasonable thing to do what he did. He would have been sparing his wife and family the terrible shame of his unforgivable "sinful" and "cowardly" act of selfish rejection of God's grace, damning himself to everlasting Hell-fire and them to the scorn and/or pity of their community. I know this sounds really extreme, but that's the way it was back then. Maybe it still is. But I left there a long time ago and I don't intend to ever, ever go back.
I’d like to see you try to do what he did. I don’t care what you think of Dakota politically, what he did overseas is the greatest testament to man of excellent character.
him and another marine drove into a 180 degree ambush to evacuate wounded and dead in a pretty much unarmored truck with a gun on it and doing 2+ trips all whilst getting shot at
You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You must love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus the Anointed is Lord! Repent and be baptized and believe the Gospel!
Umm.... I believe the request began with his immediate chain of command and went up through Congress before the President approved it. Also, it was earned not given.
