It removes the power from gods, creating Basically a perfect order, the details are slim about the difference between the before and after, but as we now have been told, he fixes the golden order completely, even the those who live in death situation

Sunflowers are able to remove radiation and heavy metals from the soil while making the soil better for other crops. You could see it as the same as Goldmask

There iscurrently one web comic that is telling the story of Elden Ring. It is an indie project and not officially licensed. It is also very lighthearted and is meant to emulate the confusion, humor, frustration, and eventually despair a first time player feels. But there is a new officially licensed graphic novel in the works that tells the story of Elden Ring.

Well executed? I completely disagree. So much of the stuff I've learned lore-wise has been from Vaati, Zullie, and this channel. The game doesn't organically explain any of this. Just the usual cryptic minimal details. Don't get me wrong I like Elden Ring I think it is a phenomenal game, but I think when it comes to storytelling and lore-building, the in-game experience isn’t the best.

@@suchmousewhile I do agree that the RU-vid videos these guys make definitely help contextualize the story, you can learn all of this by playing the game and looking at item descriptions and just going places. It’s a really well made story and every new piece I learn either from the game or from a video like this really helps add so much to the story. I would also say it shows how great Fromsoft storytelling is without holding your hand, yk?

​@@suchmouse I did agree with you. However, you gotta make a habit in reading the descriptions to all items/weapons/armor, etc, in addition to hearing what all NPCs say. Then you have to explore the world to answer these questions: Why is everyone miserable? What shit went down before everything turned to crap? It finally took me to Dark Souls 3 to figure that out. I always wondered how people knew so much about the lore. They just read. Miyazaki doesn't put in books in his games (like Bethesda for Elder Scrolls). You have to be proactive to get the lore organically.

@@suchmouseThis is what is known as a “skill issue”. All the lore videos are essentially reading the in game item descriptions and often times coming to their own conclusions that they feel best surmise it. FromSoft has famously been very discreet about the lore to allow the players to experience it for themselves and to encourage those that seek more knowledge to find it themselves, which in turn makes one more excited and interested in their game.

The Elden ring is mailable. Meaning if you are powerful enough you can subtract and add things to it. Queen Marika did this at the beginning of her age by removing the "rune of death" from the elden ring. Gold mask Rune is one thats supposed to "mend" the elden ring. Hes just fixing it with something he thought was missing from it.

The game is very poor at explaining anything in detail, and everything it does explain is generally filtered through a very grandiose, dramatic affect, which makes it even harder. Basically, the titular Elden Ring (which is also a creature, the Elden Beast) manifests the power of the Greater Will, an Eldritch God, and creates the Golden Order, which is essentially a different set of natural laws defining how the world works within the Lands Between. Like how dying isn't really possible until you release the Rune of Death; the Golden Order just kinda yoinked the concept of Death out of reality, so nobody could die naturally, until the player puts it back. The different Mending Runes you can get for the different endings are pretty much modifications to the "rules" imposed on reality by the Golden Order, and thus change how life carries on after the player becomes Lord. You don't have to get a Mending Rune, the pure default ending just puts things (mostly) back to how they used to be, but adding a Mending Rune means fundamentally altering something about the Golden Order.

To add, it seems an outer god is a requirement to enforce the order and rules. Each outer god kinda has his own order. The primordial crucible is humanity pretty much. Something divided the primordial crucible creating different types of life and leaving something that later becomes the erdtree the container of the order. Each ending either changes the rules of the order of the greater will, or gives control to another outer god (Ranni changes the outer god in control from the greater will to the dark moon). Also it seems only an empyriam can establish an order. That's why the lord of rot attached it self to Malenia, St. Trina attached herself to Miquella (not sure if trina is a god or not), Dark moon attaching itself to Ranni, the greater will attaching itself to Marika. Radahn funnily enough us perhaps the most significant thing to ever grace the greater will. His power to hold the actual stars essentially halted the pursuits of all outer gods. By stopping the stars that hold fate, all people got their fate suspended like the stars he stopped, essentially preventing anyone to attain their fate, including the demi gods and more importantly the empyrians. To put ut into better terms the fate of malenia, miquella and ranni to promote their outer god into power was halted because of radahn, basically protecting the greater will as long as he held the stars. No empyrians can achieve their fate of granting power to their respective god making the greater will eternal too, which is kinda absurd how important radahn really is

There's also an outer god of frenzy that seeks an order of chaos. This outer god wants one thing and one thing alone, erase all that divides and distinguishes, all shall be one without differences... ALL SHALL BE NONE. Yep the frenzy ending destroys everything into nothing turning everything equal.
