Prince Daeron is probably the only Green I'd ever root for.

Daeron the daring. He's stated as being the biggest threat to the blacks in the books, helping the Hightower army marching up to kingslanding.

I really thought in season 1 that he was just going to be an absent character but I think how they spoke of him in season 2... we're almost certain to see him and his dragon soon. Maybe before season end but certainly season 3.

Laena told us half of all eggs never hatch. It's possible eggs were placed with Helaena and Aemond but they never hatched.

I suppose one reason to send Daeron away so young would be essentially as a status symbol? To give House Hightower its own personal prince? And to have more control over raising him, as it was becoming clear that Aegon and soon after, Aemond were growing beyond anyone's control.

7:22 im pretty sure daeron was confirmed to exist since last season in the opening and when daemon said the blacks outnumber the greens 4 dragons ( alicents children)

They are going to make Daeron Cole's bastard i guess. This seems the direction they are taking with all of that sex between Alicent and Cole...

Daeron is my favorite character, im so hyped for him

Otto or alicent probably found some excuse to send daeron to old town in the show so that he would be far and a last hope incase rhenyra ascended and exceuted the greens. It does still make sense for him to squire for a Hightower relative plus Oldtown would have the resources to keep a dragon instead of some place like the North, the vale or the Stormlands also doesn't stuff like this happen cause remember Tywin married his cousin even though it brought no alliance to the Lannisters. I'm also pretty sure Viserys was pliable enough to let the Lord Hoghtower have his nieces children over for a while as an honour or a gesture if they asked.

As a non book reader I feel like it’s okay that they haven’t shown Daeron yet or when he was growing up. The show is very short so far. If they introduce this guy and mention that he grew up with the rest of them I wouldn’t really question it too much

Everyone acts like this part of the book is long, but it's really just a piece of the book, and I really don't think they are rushing at all. This isn't intended to be a 6 season part of the show. They could literally keep the name and start from Aegon the Conquerer.

HBO may make Daeron a mentioned but never scene Targaryen.

Leaks are saying Daeron will be a bastard. So Daeron the daring is not even a fucking Targaryan...These showrunners are idiots...

I don't think casual viewers will care too much unless the character is introduced on screen. Not a big deal, since we knew he existed already 🤷

You were the one hyping up Cregan Stark, not the trailer lol. Trailers mostly only show things from the first few episodes, im sure he will have a bigger role to play in future episodes.

I have a theory, Daeron looks more like Alicent than Viserys (even though he’s definitely Vizzy T’s son since he rides a dragon) but optically they sent him away so he wouldn’t be treated as a bastard for having Alicents brown and “plain” features

I understand your saltiness. They have dropped the ball with certain characters and the timeline in this show. It's a case of, for everything they get right they get something equally wrong. It is frustrating. Better than GoT seasons 7-8, but that's a real low bar.

So glad my favourite character got added in. Thought it was sloppy they didn’t mention him in Season 1 in any form. But better late than never right!?

Spoiler, Prince DAERON together with his Baby/teen Dragon Tessarion beat/slay the Largest Dragon of team blacks Vermithor and seasmoke in a 2v1 air battle... hence DAERON the Daring...REAL HERO, that after the war, Rhae son Aegon III named his son and Hier also "DAERON" in honor of his Uncle Prince Daeron Targtower oh, I mean Targaryen..

Why does everyone think Daeron is somehow better than his brothers? He burned an entire town because he was angry about Maelor. A town full of innocent people fleeing the violence.
