JUSTIN, was made a 'bishop' after only two years of conversion, having spent most of his life as a trained philosopher! Did he abandon his worldy ideas for thr 'Good new about the Christ'? Just read this from Google; Further, he also indicates, as St. Augustine would later, regarding the "true religion" that predated Christianity,[5] that the "seeds of Christianity" (manifestations of the Logos acting in history) actually predated Christ's incarnation. This notion allows him to claim many historical Greek philosophers (including Socrates and Plato), in whose works he was well studied, as unknowing Christians. Please read Col 2:8 regarding philosphy!

Jesus sacrifice is our only hope, jesus agony in the garden of Gethsemane does not encourage martyrdom at all. He refused 3 times to drink the cup.

Refuse to drink? No. He had to accept dying for someone like me and you.

@@wingchun1963 jesus sweated blood thats a medical condition due to very extreme stress.why should he be stressed if its his true mission. Socrates died without fear and welcomed it. Because in his belief our physical bodies are a prison that prevents our divine spark to develop.

The saints haven’t chosen to be martyrs. They’ve chosen to be faithful.

@@doritoreiss8089 two types of martyrs white and red. One common denominator. They lived and died as Christians in faithfulness and works.

A "saint" ? A production of Catholicism. No doubt venerable people. However , Our Lord rejoices unto them His grace. The proclamation of holiness is not for another. For His works are of His design. As such it is not for man to glorify. One can use as example , however , no man truly knows another's heart. No man !!!!
