*Coughs in theorist* No, but this has been one of the things that my mind has been stuck on since the end of Unlocked. I personally agree with the Gethen theory the most, not only because of what you said above, but also for the reason that in her notebook, Sophie mentioned that he was the Keeper of the Neverseen. Now, the name of the book series is Keeper of the Lost Cities, but we've only had a real focus on that idea in Keeper (In Quinlin's office, I believe) But, this could totally be Shannon's way of a. Reintroducing that title back into the series, and b. Reinforcing that good vs. evil parallel between the Neverseen and Black Swan. After Unlocked, Shannon has set the whole rest of this series on the tip of an iceberg, and I'm so excited to see which way it falls.

At 3:52 where you mentioned that Grady could have been tricked into being Sophie's dad I think that would be really interesting to see! I really want to see something where Sophie figures it out before whoever the dad is does because that would be a super crazy plot twist I genuinely hope that the dad doesn't know

I think Elwin is her father, possibly Grady 1. When Sophie was complaining about the Black Swan refusing to tell her who her parents were two elves in particular were really angry about it, Oralie and Elwin 2. Elwin cares about everyone (of course) but he seems to have a special place for Sophie. He hung pictures of her in the healing center, and created a list for Edaline of ways that Sophie may injure herself and how to treat it at home But maybe Grady is her dad. I mean there has been a point since book 1 of showing that Sophie and Jolie look nearly identical. But I just don’t see how Brant could have been her dad. That just doesn’t really work out I think.

I feel like Sophie's father might not be a human, because with all the DNA stuff, all the medicine designed for elvin bodies, and all the stuff Elwin said about her cells having damage from the toxins in the human world in the first book (and the fact that she even has Elvin abilities) whatnot I think she might have to be 100% elf. But on the other hand she is supposed to be a bridge between the elves and humans, so...

I personally am hoping Sophies dad is a new character!

Also ok so THEORY TIME!! Everyone that is Sophie’s friend is there for a reason. Keefe - Parents, Fitz and Biana - alvar, Dex - mom (Black swan), Marella _ her mom and possibly her had, Maruca - Perentice & Wylie, Stina - her dad, That leaves Jensi and tam and Linh. For jensi I think his older brother is blur and for tam and Linh their mom is glimmer and that is what finishes the theory of all of Sophie’s friends connected into it not just “Recruited” as gisela puts it

when you said that you didnt know who brant is related to (well most of us dont ) but i have a theory. It could be Kenric. look at their middle names and look at kotlc siblings.heres an example Tam Dai Song Linh Hai Song but kenric and brant have very similar middle names. I think the strongest theory in this video was the one about Mr. Forkle, it makes complete sense. Gethen and Elwin are also pretty strong ones too.

I have a crazy theory. Powers are genetics, sometimes, right? So what if the first elves ever only had basic powers (Hydrokinetic Pyrokinetic, Charger, Telepath, Empath,..) and then the powers kinda mix (like what happened with Keefe) to create a new, official power ? Like Empath + Charger = Inflictor? When Sophie inflicts, she creates red lights so a Charger or a Flasher could be her father. And Empath because it's the only other Talent connected to feelings. What do you think?

Idk why but I would want Elwin, Gethen, or Fintan to be her dad. Idk why but Fintan just seems like Sophie’s dad because I’m pretty sure he has blond hair but a lot of elves have blonde hair. I’m just staying I’m keeping those three on my mind 😃

TIME TO THEORIZE!!!! BEWARE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!! READ AT UR OWN RISK!!!!!! REASONS WHY I THINK 'GETHEN' MIGHT BE SOPHIES'S BIOLOGICAL FATHER. REASON NO.1: INHERITANCE First of all Gethen is a powerful telepath, the fact that he literally made a giant castle collapse justifies this. And let's not forget, we can agree that the physical similarities between him and Sophie are prominent. I know that the elves don't exactly inherit their parents abilities but it does happen and usually most of the time. For example; the Vackers Fitz, Biana and Alvar each take after at least on of their parents, right? Biana and Alvar all inherit their current abilities from their mother. Whereas Fitz inherits telepathy from his dad. Which at least explains a little, Sophie could have inherited her strong ability in the arts of telepathy from Gethen because he was emphasized to be the most powerful telepath among the Neverseen ever. Let's take into account the huge priority the Double Forkles reveled on, making sure that the Moonlark is as powerful as she can be so she could heal Minds and do all kinds of crazy things. Note: Sophie has 5 abilities and she was actually expected to have only 3. enhancing teleporting and having gold-flecked brown eyes were a side effect of the fact the forkles tweaked her genes based on Alicorn DNA. So, if the forkles were so focused on making her the strongest telepath why not pick the strongest telepath then? REASON NO.2: THE HINTS Shannon is oh-so good at pointing hints into her story. She had now already hinted at us the possibility of Sophie's father being someone she had met...maybe not in good circumstances (like the fact that Gethen is a murderer who works for the Neverseen? Yup), completely contradicting what happened between Sophie and her mother, since Book 1 her mother, was a supporting figure for her, it was until Book 8 that Sophie discovered that the kind woman she looked up to was her mother (which of course she finds disgraceful in her own sense since she already did assume her biological parents abandoned her for their own selfish reasons...which isn't true ofcourse...just Sophie trying to make sense of the world😏) To keep this theory living, let's assume Sophie's parents are those she had already met. Let me add, Shannon had been emphasizing so much in Book 7 Flashback how much Sophie hates fighting, she was very reluctant to hurt someone or even think about it! How much she 'loathed' it when Grizel literally called her a natural when Sophie was making good progress in combat training with Sandor (that moment killed me!). I mean come on, it's pretty obvious, you know? Sophie thought herself to be a natural killer (adding spice to what Grizel was actually telling her). Knowing Shannon, why in the lost cities would she put something like that into the story and ignore it? Well...we might not know yet but we still have to try theorizing. We gotta compete in this and see who found the correct answer when the secret finally reveals itself! Ugh!!! What was Shannon trying to hint at???? Now we that we do know she was trying to hint at something, since Gethen is part of this scenario he could be Sophie's Dad. Shannon had also 'inflicted'(😲😂) a tremendous fear into Sophie throughout Flashback along with the fear of having an evil parent. Usually when authors write about their character's fears and emphasize it briefly, it becomes a plothole for them to use for the progression of the story, turning into reality to keep the character in check and create a plot twist. Again with the evidence from Flashback I qoute; 'Sophie saw the determination and *concern* in his eyes' when Gethen and his buddies from the Neverseen attacked her and Fitz (although he hadn't made any attempts to stop the attacks he gave her several chances to save herself and her friends) While you're reading this, I know you guys might be thinking... So if Gethen's really Sophie's dad why would he assist the Black Swan in their project since he's a bad guy? Well, here's my answer for ya, people aren't born evil, it sounded like the guy could have joined the Neverseen immediately after and had been with them for over 13years or so. Maybe the Neverseen wasn't even there before (the sole purpose of the Neverseen, as seen by Gisela, was to use the leader's own kid in an attempt at an experiment with a motive similar to the Black Swan but with gruesome methods too, both motives were to change the world for the good....In Gisela's case, she just wants to rule the world obviously🙄😒) in a matter a fact tho, either way he could have easily given up on his family since joining the Neverseen meant having to make huge sacrifices on others to make the world a better place assumes Gisela since her stupidity has gotten the better of her (tho she's still a likeable character😏) SUMMARY Gethen➡️blonde hair and ice blue eyes, a telepath, plus; Sophie's mother➡️blonde hair too and blue eyes, an empath & conjurer, plus; Double Forkles➡️working their magic by tweaking Sophie's genes, equals;↙️ Sophie➡️blonde hair, brown eyes, a telepath, inflictor, polyglot, teleporter & enchancer. Can you now see the obvious here? THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEARING WITH ME HERE. I WAS DYING TO LET THIS OUT MY SYSTEM FOR MONTHS NOW. THANKS AGAIN!!

at the beginning of legacy i got so worried gisela was sophie’s mom because of her polyglot ability, photographic memory, and her blonde hair but i was so relieved to know it wasn’t her

Honestly all of your theories are great! I would love for Elwin to be Sophie's biological father because he's just so sweet and has always been there for Sophie ever since she came the the lost cities and he's just one of the best characters. Gethen is also a good one! As always your videos are amazing so please keep posting as much as you can and I would love to hear any theories you have! For the wright family, maybe Ethan can be her uncle, he could be half elf, half human and his half brother is full elf and that’s Sophie’s father Pretty sure it’s not Grady, if a girl who looks a lot like him with unknown biological parents who gave their DNA comes to live with him and later searches for said parents, pretty sure that’s a detail he would mention Brant and Gethen probably won’t help the Black Swan Elwen maybe but I don’t think so My guess is either the deceased Mr. Forkle, Kenric or someone from the Wright family

I realized Sophie’s father would be most likely to be someone with blond hair as it is a ressesive gene so her father most likely have blonde hair unless her father has brown or black hair with a blonde gene which we will never know so it will most likely be someone with blonde hair

i actually cried when one of the Forkle's died, so I rlly hope he isn't Sophie's biological father. I'm hoping it's Elwin, he has always cared for Sophie. In Unlocked, on page 54, at the bottom it said something like "it seemed like Fitz and Sophie were a thing. Huh. MY little girl is growing up" Could that mean he is her bio father?

I haven't watched the video yet, but I think it's either Gethen or a whole new character.

So there are only two people who I really hope is Sophie's dad, both of which was mentioned in this videos. The other Mr Forkle and Tiergan and my theories for this is some what the same. So of course there's Mr Forkle who is basically said to be her creator and Sophie and him share such a strong bond and when I read about one mr Forkle dying and saying "my moonlark" I immediately put him on my list of possibles. Tiergan is more of a hoping guess and I thought about it since Tiergan took Sophie to Hollywood, LA during one of their telepathy sessions. I noticed that he asked her why she thinks that her parents don't care about her and she responds that they must not care if they let the black swan experiment on their kid and now wants nothing to do with her since she got to the lost cities and Tiergan is described as looking sad and heartbroken when she says that (btw I don't know exactly what they say but this is what I got from it) sooooo ..... Yeah

For Brant’s last name I think he might be related to either Kenric (similar last names) or since abilities are often genetic and we don’t know much about Marella’s mom or even her dad…….what if Brant is related to Marella

I think Elwin is Sophie’s Father for many reasons like: (yes I’m ranting) is Elvin Sophie’s dad? I mean he definitely cares about Sophie so much and helped save her life a million times if not more haha but also Sophie has said that Elvin is kinda like a father figure to her and I know he doesn’t look that much like Sophie but she must have just gotten her looks from Oralie. And honestly it kinda makes sense in book 2 when light had such a huge effect on Sophie if her dad was a flasher! Which Elvin is… and if you read unlock book 8.5 and read Elvin’s medical records and you can see him up and basically trash talking the council on their decisions IN THEIR RECORDS!!! COMMITTED TREASON TO DEFEND SOPHIE!!! and also he has made it clear that he ships SOKEEFE so.. I rly hope it’s him tbh! ALSO!!! Like Oralie and Sophie both sharing the eyelash picking habit Sophie and Elvin both share the habit of sleeping with stuffed animals.. see where I’m going? Shannon messenger has been hinting at this since well forever! The only thing that bothers me that might tell me I’m wrong is how he looks and how he didn’t know much about the black swan before anyone spilled the beans about it.

Question... Could Brant's last name possibly be Elysian? At the end of book nine, It said, "I am Elysian," or whatever. So couldn't that be a last name? And also why Gisela knew about Elysian?

My brain! I was sad about kenrics death, even though we barely knew him, and I was thinking Sophie's father was gonna be Bronte, but I'm only around the start of book 8, and had spoiled the reveal of Sophie's mother a while ago, but the Gethen theory seems likely-

Here are my top three picks Elwin (Cause he would be such a good dad. Also in his medical writings for Sophie he has some suggestive lines. That could just be bc he's that kind of guy, but...) Gethen (Not related to him being Sophie's father, but he could be a good guy, just say'n. I'd be cool to have an antihero in KotLC who's inside the Neverseen) Fintan (Idk why...it just keeps coming up in my head so I feel like I should put it down. There's no real reason why) Brant could be related to Marella and that's why her parents didn't freak out when she came out as one....

here are my theories/ hopes- 1. mr forkle said at one point that sophie’s bio dad is an elf, so i don’t believe it can be the human from london. plus i don’t think that would add much to the story. 2. it also can’t be gethen, because in book 1, when gethen tried to kidnap sophie from her human family’s house, didn’t mr forkle later say he did not recognize him? yes, he could have lied, but in this case i believe him. 3. my theory before i starting looking up others’ theories was that it could be wraith, as we still have no clue who this is, but it would be significant. it’s not blur, i’ve seen theories that i think are correct that blur is jensen’s brother. 4. i saw reddit theories supporting it to be fintan, as he hid his involvement with the neverseen. the significance would be huge. 5. it would also be cool if it was tiergan

Plus, at the end of lodestar, he tried to kill Oralie with the sword in the stone, so that also adds to it. Plus I feel like Shannon is going to try and make her dad bad, because two good parents just wouldn't make for a very good story honestly 😆 Adding to an earlier video you guys had about alden being evil (which I am confident that he is): Alden's middle name is dedrick, right? Hi, I have a theory about it! What If Sophie's biological father is Councilor Bronte? I mean, he is the only inflictor listed and after book 2 (Exile) he REALLY love Sophie and trying very hard that she will love him and we can see how it is important to him. Elwin and Grady can’t be her dad since Mr. Forkle said that they went into incredible measures to make sure that their biological parents never met and they would have to know that Sophie would get into trouble which would make the Council meet with Elwin and then they would NEVER let Grady adopt her if he was her dad since Oralie would OBVIOUSLY meet him. Oh and even Jolie was ruled out and I’m pretty sure that someone said, “The Black Swan would never have someone like that so close to home.” Which mens that it can’t be Grady. HOWEVER! Gethen actually makes a lot of sense! Oralie and Gethen might meet but it takes one look at their jobs and you can easily see why the Black Swan would chose him. COUNCILOR and NEVERSEEN MEMBER. Damn though. If that was real and Shannon does the, “Your… my dad?” I would throw the book at the wall and scream, “WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!” Although I’m pretty sure that because this theory exists Shannon isn’t going to make it a reality because she NEEDS to surprise us

He said stuff about single elves and normalizing that, but Shannon never mentions blind/deaf/"disabled" elves or adds them as characters. I am not making accusations at all-authors decide the characters to add to books.

I know this is a spoiler but Sophie’s biological mother is Oralie🎉🎉🎉

So this theory might sound super strange but hear me out. Sophie finds out that Councillor Oralie is her biological mother during a meeting between her and Sophie to help Sophie better understand/control her enhancing towards the end of Legacy (book 8) after Sophie's 2nd ability reset since her inflicting and enhancing were not working the way that Mr. Forkle had designed it. I searched it up to get some ideas about who Sophie's dad could be and it said, Elwin. Still, then I thought "this doesn't make any sense" since Elwin is a Flasher. Flasher isn't any of the abilities that the Black Swan gave Sophie when they genetically modified her genes. However, it could/would be an ability that Sophie might manifest later even if the books say that she will only display 5 abilities, so there could be more abilities that Sophie discovers. Maybe one of them would be Flasher. :)

I personally do not think that Sophie's dad is Brant because im pretty sure he died when he was in his 30's and Sophie is 15 and he would probably be like 20 or 21 and if it took them a longish time to create/make Sophie he would probably be 19 and who would ask for a kid that young for there DNA and then the kid say yes.

I personally hope that is NOT elwin, I think he is awesome and I rly hope elwin adopts keefe. I am a sokeefe shipper and I think it might be a bit awkward if they started dating and they shared a father(even tho its not biological). IDK if they makes sense.

Ok y’all don’t come for me for this but- I have a theory that Sophie’s dad is Lord Cassius, Keefes dad. The reason why is because if oralie and Cassius mixed it would look like Sophie. Keefe and Sophie are the only two elves that are connected to silveny. Keefe can oddly understand Sophie’s feelings In one book Cassius suddenly wanted to join the good guys (yes bc of Gisela but also maybe keefe and Sophie?) Cassius is oddly friendly to her( his favorite child?) He literally wanted a powerful child Also in one of the books I forget but it said that they got in a arguement around the time Sophie was born (sus?) There’s a lot more but I’m lazy so yea

I disagree with all of them but for reasons, well not the last one. For the first one, I REALLY doubt the Black Swan would use a human. Mr. Forkle said sometime in the books that she is "100% elf", and if her father was human, she would only be 50% elf. As for brant, just *no*. And for Grady, he hated the Black Swan, like you said, and NO ONE would give their DNA without even knowing what for. Another reason is if he really was, I seriously doubt that he would be able to hide it from Sophie for so long. Oralie didn't, and Grady LIVES with Sophie. And for Genthen, like brant, JUST NO. But, if he was the father, WHY IS HE WITH THE NEVERSEEN?

1. I don't think the black swan would have used someone's DNA without their permission. So that probably shoots down the neverseen and Grady. 2. Didn't Forkle say her parrents did not know each other? So no Kenric. 3. We have been explicitly told it is not Bronte, Alden (If I remember), or Forkle (at least one of them). 4. I agree lord Cassius probably could not keep it a secret from Sophie and Keefe. 5. Elwin is a possiblity, but I guess I am assuming Sophie will share at least 1 ability. 6. Maybe Prentice, Tiergan, or the Dead Forkle? 7. Are there any male polyglots?

I hate it but I think her dad Is Cassius Sencen. I love sokeefe but why can cassius and keefe the only ones that can read her emotions? Cassius is blond, and maybe he focuses on Sophie so much because he is disappointed in Keefe, and wants a successful child. This could also be why he wanted to join the black swan.

I know I've mentioned this under another video, but if elwin actually is blur (still not sure!!) *and* sophie's dad, that would be... uhm, interesting 😂

I don’t think Sophie’s dad is human or Elwin. Yes I know people really think it’s Elwin, which the reason I don’t think so is Forkle said that Sophie’s mother(Councilor Oralie) and Sophie’s dad don’t know each other, which is obviously not true if Elwin is Sophie’s dad. I don’t think Sophie’s dad is a human because well, she’s fully elvin (pretty sure this was confirmed somewhere). Don’t think it’s Gethen because why would he be willing to donate his DNA if he’s the enemy of the group he’s donating to. Even if he was not part of Neverseen when he donated it, don’t you think he might’ve of used him being Sophie’s father to taunt Sophie? I mean he wouldn’t have any reason to keep that a secret, unless I’m skipping over something. I have no theories about who Sophie’s father is but I do think some of these theories have some holes. Sophie's father is Prentice and I am not changing my mind on this! I don't care if she's been told that he isn't by Mr Forkle. I feel like Mr Forkle lies all the time to protect Sophie and I feel like in the case of Prentice he is protecting her from the truth. I haven't really seen anyone talk about this but, I don't want Sophie's father to be anyone who is like a father figure to Sophie. I want Elwin and Teirgan and anyone else who's been kind to her to just be good people. By making it Elwin it just kinda seems like he's only been kind to her because shes his kid. And it makes more sense for her other parent to be someone evil.
