I've always held the headcanon that he was among Sergei's men during the Tanker incident and he simply died either at Snake or Ocelot's hands. It would be a tadbit convenient if Sunny's father got killed mere days both after Olga's pregnancy yet before the Tanker incident considering Olga's belly still looking thin by the time Snake meets her.
Maybe she is a clone of Dr. Strangelove, because Olga's voice actress is the same as Dr. Strangelove (Vanessa Marshall). She has the same accent, white hair as Olga, and is intelligent, just like Sunny, which explains why Otacon feels so attached to Sunny.
I don't hate this theory. I kind of assumed that Sunny was engineered in one way or another, the father never seemed relevant but Olga and the Gurlukovic line seemed the only important aspect. Considering Ocelot (and therefore The Patriots' involvement), it would make sense they would have The Boss' remains for a project like this. Alternatively, Ocelot being the father, at least biologically, would also preserve that same genetic line the Boss considering Ocelot is the child of The Boss and The Sorrow and if it were the intentions of The Patriots to make another Boss, I wouldn't put it past Ocelot to be at the very least, deeply involved in the creation of Sunny. (Someone below suggested she could be Dr. Strangelove, an equally valid choice) Then again, there could be no conspiracy bar a similar situation to Raiden - Sunny could simply be a child that is being 'bred' for war. The significance of the father is irrelevant because the child is Olga's and she is person they are trying to 'replicate,' with intentions of continuing the line the same. Whether Sunny is a clone of anyone else, genetic or memetic, I still think this lens does still give a justifiable credence to the importance of Sunny being part of the 'Les Enphants Terribles' family. She's David and Hal's kid at the end of the day! Kept safe by her foster brother Jack from Uncle George and Uncle Adam/Eli. Ultimately, whatever genes that make her up don't change that, and whoever's footsteps she follows are up to her to decide. Sunny, hopefully, is the first person in the family to not live within that awful pre-ordained machine the rest of her family fought against, and that deserves to be celebrated.
It comes off as way too convoluted for either Ocelot or the Patriots to randomly select the naturally-concieved child of a russian soldier woman as the perfect candidate to be subjected to some shady attempt to clone the Boss so i can't say i see the plausibility in such a scenario especially when Sunny never says or does anything which even makes her ressemble the Boss in any way.
@@javiervasquez625 Yeah I think that's completely a fair and adequate reading of Sunny. I would say I'm a bit partial to the Strangelove suggestion, but you're right, simplest explanation is she's just a regular kid born in a military family. I think there's still some credence in recognising the eugenicist undertones in the preserving of Gurlukovic's grandchild, a Russian military man wanting to 'return' to a stronger Russia - how it parallels the eugenicist overtones in 'Les Enphants Terribles' cloning of the The Patriots' 'ultimate soldier.' You're right, I don't think Sunny was cloned as part of a big conspiracy, but Sunny is a microcosm of the things The Patriots represent - genetic and memetic control, among other things.
@@ShaunCloudSwain I mean, wanting to "preserve the Gurlukovich's genes" doesn't need such an extensive amount of extra baggage commentary when people from all walks in real life have shown the same tendency to consider their bloodlines "pure" enough to be worth preservation, making Sergei's stern obsession for a genetic legacy seem less about his nationalist aspirations and more so his own arrogant, entitled sense of superiority driving him to continue his specific bloodline to indulge that sense of entitled superiority.
Probably one of the masked soldiers that had knocked her when drunk, and no one knows who as she had knocked plenty of them. Guessing one of the father had his neck broken by Snake at the Tanker and thrown off the ship.
Olga was literally around 18 years old when she concieved Sunny so i seriously doubt Sergei would be that "liberal" to allow his daughter to have as much fun as she pleased with whoever soldier came to her with the propossition. Whoever Sunny's father was you can bet he must have had a strong relationship with Sergei who saw him as a good candidate to be his daughter's husband and father of her children.
I’m sorry but you contradicted yourself. Sunny is not a clone, you even said it yourself, Olga went to a hospital while in labor not knowing that it was ran by the Patriots. Don’t you think if Olga would have known about her situation, she would have been forced to go to a hospital ran by the Patriots? I think Olga knew that she slept with somebody and got knocked up. It’s not like the situation between EVA and Big Boss. Also Olga as far as we know, isn’t some special soldier like Big Boss and the Les Enfant Terribles was made specifically to clone the greatest soldier to exist. On top of that, why 1 child? The project was suppose to have 8 children and EVA had 3 of them. And if the Patriots planned on having a genius child with another Les Enfant Terrible project that could possibly destroy all Patriots AI, then there is a fatal flaw in the system. This theory is too wild with a lot of holes.
Lol, that's impossible as Olga barely even knew Ocelot back at the Tanker as confirmed when she questions Sergei on "Ray's pilot" been qualified to hijack it.
Ever since I learned of the Les Enfants Terribles in MGS1, my theory was that there could be many more clones of Big Boss out there. Then we had Solidus in part 2. Made me wonder what else they could have done. The scary version, the Patriots would have seen or predicted their own downfall and taken provisions for that. What if they secretly cloned some more Big Bosses for later on as a sort of restart. The theory is great. Maybe Olga was a surrogate mother like Eva. She said you still needed a mother for the clones. So Olga definitely could have been the chosen vessel, as Liquid and Sergei were working on a plan in MGS1 etc. They could have had it in storage for a few years, and when Ocelot hijacked the Tanker he thought he would kill all of them. She survived, so that was how the Patriots then took her child from her etc
Agreed, it comes off as way too convoluted for Ocelot to do something of the sort, almost 40 years after the Les Enfants Terribles already succeeded on doing the same thing with Big Boss's genes.
Wow this is a very interesting theory I never considered that. It would make sense too because they needed a child to pilot Sahelanthorpus back then too. And yeah they did have The Boss remains. Very interesting.
Although that's pretty out there, it would make for a nicer reason as to why Olga was wearing the exoskeleton in the Plant chapter other than to simply play the part of "That Ninja" in the S3 project.
@@thelamergamer1894 Why? The Patriots needed someone to play the part of the "Cyborg Ninja" as part of Jack's simulation and she had already been turned into one of their agents after they snatched her baby from her, hence why she was chosen. It's utterly convoluted to turn Olga into a Cyborg Ninja based solely on her having once had happy time with Frank Jaeger.
@@thelamergamer1894 There's nothing "poetic" about a random connection between someone who slept with someone else one random night before been randomly selected to become a spy out of sheer random convenience and the Patriots AIs been that picky to select the 18 year old russian soldier woman who clearly did NOT get pregnant by Frank Jaeger before his death at Shadow Moses.
I'll be honest. I expected Johnny to be the father in this theory. Frankly, I think it makes more sense for Johnny to be her father, but I think this theory is fun too!
I thought maybe Ocelot but I don’t think so because he was old. I thought maybe Liquid, but I think it’s crazy. Maybe Mantis but he died in 2005. Or it could be Johnny.
I think Olga getting pregnant was planned by the patriots. The hospital and the russian mafia were run by the patriots, so I believe they planted a "father" to get close to Olga in the same way they planted Rose for Raiden. For what purpose? The only thing I can think of, is that they had set the S3 plan in motion shortly before the tanker sank and had already planned to use Olga to help carry it out even back then. She was clearly still in her first trimester during the Tanker mission, so the timing is almost too perfect. The only problem with this theory, is how were the patriots able to predict Olgas survival of the tanker sinking? I guess it's possible they could have had back up people to replace her, but we'll never know
I feel like the theory sounds good but I don’t think Gurlukovich or Ocelot had the people necessary to pull it off the only 2 people were Naomi Hunter and Para medic aka Dr. Clark.
Excellent video my friend.. gift of the silver tongue they say its the mark of a good officer 😉... it's ocelot lol. He was in league with Sergei since Shadow Moses. When you mentioned The Boss theory. I hated it for 60 seconds then it like...wow, my God. Any number of men would want that. Even Otacon without telling David. Vamp could've even done it. It's the perfect excuse of "her being taken away right after" just like ocelot on d-day by the Philosophers. Bravo though. Great video. Love this.
What if I said it's more than likely that Sunny is actually the grandchild of Dr. Strangelove? Compare their hair. I know it's a lot like Olga's, but it's also like Strangelove's. Think about their technical prowess in dealing with AI specifically. So if Strangelove was her gramma, then her mother or father must have been Strangelove's child. That person... is Hal Emmerich. But the real question is: Who is Hal?
Yeah and I'm one of them. This is an absolutely laughable so called theory. One of the worst. Saying a father doesn't exist I cannot take this crap seriously.
Maybe Chad otacon’s sperm just swam to Olga and boom. Here comes the sun(sunny) I’m sorry. It just that to me, Hal is Sunny’s dad no matter what, blood or no blood.
Gray fox died before MGS2 and even with Olga being pregnant during the Tanker Chapter it isn't noticeable, so she wouldn't be more than a couple months.
@@BigBossultrastealth No real talks about it it likely isn’t canon because it’s a retread of mgs2 that doesn’t fit the overarching story of the franchise but we haven’t had a game set after it yet so🤷🏾♂️
People who hate fan theories are just insecure little twats. They seriously fly off the handle entirely too much based on a few people speculating about stuff. Sometimes fan theories turn out to be true too. They probably drown in their own tears when that happens lol.
