There's something so funny about how low stakes this is, but I also find it strangely touching to see you just having such a fun conversation with Jason Griffith. It genuinely makes me so happy! I loved this video. My vote goes for Black Doom!

I still have to pick Gerald when it comes to Shadow's dads, but I would pick Tom as the best Sonic dad.

So I'm gonna say: Gerald had good intentions at the start, but fell off the deep end after Maria was shot by the government. An institution he was supposed to trust in ended up murdering an innocent girl who was ill. That could set many people off. Black Doom had no real noble cause. Sure, he may have wanted to feed the populous of his comet, but the murder of sentient beings, capable of rational thoughts, is nothing short of abhorrent. Gerald is the better father who fell from grace. Black Doom was evil from the very start.

I vividly remember when you and Jen randomly walked up to me at the con and got me involved with this, I was like "What in the name of Mobius are you two doing? XD". In all seriousness, great stuff as always Vinny and this was such a funny but still awesome idea for Revo this year.

Black Doom is a canon blood donor and knows what he wants for his son, whereas Gerald decidedly made Shadow fit in a capsule that plummets straight towards the earth, causing immense trauma. I think this side of the family needs a lot of therapy.

This is a really cute video, but I think I disagree. I would say Gerald is technically the better father with the caveat that there both bad, and Shadow was right to break away from them. That said, Gerald altering Shadow's mind for his own ends makes him lose a lot of points. Still, I believe his relationship with Shadow was better before the incident while his relationship with Black Doom feels purely transactional, in a I own you kind of way. I see where people are coming from as far as Black Doom being the better father though. Black Doom may have also manipulated Shadow, but he certainly didn't cause his amnesia while Gerald actively messed with his head.

That was pretty awesome, Jason seems like a pretty cool guy. I'm not choosing either of those guys cause they're both awful. 😂. This might be cheating, but I'm going with Espio, you can't tell me he's not a dad to Charmy and he's the best.
