I’ve lived in Boulder the last 10 years and I’m a huge college football fan (from the Midwest, so not exactly emotionally attached to the Buffs). I’ve always said that once the CU community makes the decision to actually care about football, they could be phenomenal, perhaps a perennial national power. They have a lot going for them (Colorado/Denver loves sports, Boulder is an ideal college town, there’s not lack of $$$). Well they made that decision last year. And here we are. It’s awesome to see what is happening in Boulder right now.

I agree with the assessment and I heard Coach Prime say they need an answer for the run. You basically see the run coming in slow motion. I do think they can still compete with Oregon. I hope that they use Harrison and challenge some of their other receivers to step up. Most important is they got to get a defensive answer for that cross in the middle. CSU exploited them with that play. I'm praying they have a good game and everyone stays healthy after.

You are absolutely correct that the buffs were out-coached especially on offense. The only thing I would add is when one of the top skilled players is taken out of a game, and it was a dirty hit, and he goes to the hospital, for some reason, even a great coached team can lose its way. CSU became full of themselves because they felt that there was no way they could lose this game when they had controlled it all night. The buffs team was the MOST resilient and refused to lose. This is a sign of a winning attitude that comes from the top. Therefore having heart along with resiliance is everything in football. Coach Prime is not Mr. Xs and Os because it hasn’t been his role at the college level. One has to be honest with this because it is noticeable that he allows his coordinator to do their job 100%. What he is is a winner and top talent motivator BECAUSE it shows how much he loves his players. On top of that, he is extremely entertaining and I hadn't enjoyed College football in years prior to his arrival. What Coach Prime is bringing to the table brought me back to college football.

Secondly, he also made it clear in his press conference why they went offense first in overtime; they wanted to put the pressure on CSU. Colorado has the premier quarterback, Shedeur, so let’s see how CSU responds to my premier QB. Colorado did do a better defense, gainst the Nebraska crossing routes. Coach Sanders said, "we are 8 players away." Tense: TCU, Nebraska, and Colorado State became tense in the 4th quarter. Colorado does not become tense during the 4th quarter. Distractions: At Oregon, Colorado will not be distracted. It'll be about the team and no one else. Travis Hunter...87 or 85 for the Buffs, was able to receive the ball, because Travis Hunter was not on the field. Against Oregon: Shaddeur shall shred them apart, because of the various distributions to his receivers, because Travis is not on the field. Too often, Shaddeur would focus on Travis. Need some scheduling parity. To be included in the CFP, you need this criteria - 1) Everybody plays a 9 game conference schedule. 2) Two of the three remaining games are against other P5 opponents. 3) The remaining game can only be against an opponent one level lower, such as a G5.

Yes Sanders has the best stats in the 4th quarter because some of the other top QBs haven't had to play in the 4th quarter. Caleb Williams and Drew Allar have played 1 drive, Penix Jr has not played in the 4th quarter yet this season. Also, in my mind the best clutch performance this year was Ewers leading Texas to a victory in Tuscaloosa. Can't wait for more close games as the season rolls on!

@@aaronclay4665 he scored a rushing touchdown with 4:54 seconds left in the game. I am not taking anything away from him my point was he has had to play into the 4th quarter of games because they were still in doubt. Where as the other quarterbacks hardly or no stats at all in the 4th quarter because they were in games that were not in doubt. Between the other 3 QBs I mentioned above they have a combined 2 series played in the 4th quarter of 9 total games played. This the stats that Klatt was stating that he leads FBS in all the categories in the 4th quarter could be seen as a bit misleading...that is all... Sanders has been impressive thus far this season, but I personally still think that he is only at best the third best QB in his own conference
@joshanderson5075
@joshanderson5075 Год назад
@@tdup191 Texas entered the 4th quarter down by 3 points on the road at Bama, where they hardly ever loose, and hand them their worst defeat (10pts) since 2004, I would say the level of difficulty was far Greater for Ewers. Compare to Sat night where Sanders has to lead his team 92 yards, at home, on the last drive of the 4th quarter against a team who, at that point, was 3-10 in their prior 13 games, and who ended up committing 17 penalties for a school record 182 yards. In my opinion, Sanders leading the Buffs to victory does not trump Ewers leading the Longhorns to victory at Bama!

Excellent analysis, especially the top 10 breakdown, and all the struggles that teams had this week, and the CU-CSU game. Everyone is loving on the Buffs, but few of those people are identifying all the problems that need addressed, and the consequences of not addressing them. I find it interesting (but not surprising) that CU got punished in the rankings (only moved down 1, but got jumped by 3 teams), but all those top 10 teams that struggled just like CU did against unranked opponents, didn't.
@wesleyowens4089
@wesleyowens4089 Год назад
Well for one none of the top 10 teams struggled as hard against as bad of a trash as Colorado did against Colorado State. But also Kansas State dropped from 15 to unranked for losing on a last second field goal in the road to a power 5 team. Bama dropped 3 spots for their struggle on the road against USF. And FSU (the only one you could argue looked as bad as Colorado did) also dropped a spot. There's also the fact that the top 10 teams didn't have anyone near them in the rankings play well with to pass them while Colorado had several teams right behind them play really well so they jumped them. Also those teams mostly only struggled for a limited amount of time before actually putting their competition away and the final score looked respectable even if the game wasn't. What is bs is Tennessee still being ranked after getting destroyed by Florida but Kansas State not after barely losing to Mizzou

I'm glad someone else is finally saying the truth. I've been screaming from the rooftops since after the TCU game and waving the red flags, but if you speak the truth and don't hail Sanders the greatest coach ever, or the team the most talented ever and you don't agree their winning the PAC12, then you are a racist hater. I've been called a racist like 32 times now this season, just for speaking the truth, and honestly calling things like I see them and grading the team and coaches performances. These Colorado lines on both sides have been exposed over and over again in every game and they've been lucky to not face a good enough team to take advantage yet. They have yet to face a true talented, true top 25 team this season, not even close. The move from the level their coming from to power 5 really is a significant change, and reality is about to hit this program right square in the face. The teams you've played to this point are on the level of group of 5 or lower TCU was highly overrated and have plummeted out of the rankings, because they lost everything to the NFL and are completely rebuilding. Nebraska just might be in he top 3 of the worst power 5 teams in the nation this year, definitely the worst QB. Colorado St has some decent players, but they are far from a good competitive team, yet the Buffs had to throw everything but the kitchen sink and a hope and a prayer to beat them. Well their's no more scratching by, or hiding behind trashcan competition. Every flaw of this Colorado team is about to get exposed and exposed badly through the rest of this season. Oregon first and then USC. These will both be losses and it won't be close, especially against USC. They will also loose and loose big against Washington, which might just be the best overall team in the nation right now. Their also loosing to Washington St and Utah. The games against Stamford, Arizona and Arizona St will all be close, skin of the teeth battles that could go either way just like the first three. I'm not saying this to be a hater, I'm actually rooting for Sanders and Colorado, but these Buff fans have gotten out of control, and have completely unrealistic expectations. You have a bunch that are casuals at best, who have no real football understanding or knowledge. You have some who are bandwagoners, who have never cared about Colorado football, some probably didn't even know Colorado had a team till this year. If Dieon can take this team from 1-11 to 5-7 or 6-6 then some just don't understand how monumental of an improvement that really is. I partially blame coach Sanders for this, thanks to his comments about not settling for just being better and wanting to win it all. Wanting is one thing, but actually even having a chance, or the talent to get it done, are two completely different things. A lot of these fans are convinced that they are going undefeated, and winning the PAC 12 and making the playoffs and even winning the national title because coach said to believe and "Were Coming" . These are the kind of clueless, no football knowledge fans, who when things start going bad, and they get embarrassed and the team starts loosing and they don't understand why, they are the very ones who start prematurely calling for coaches to be fired and all kinds of other nonsense. I'm a true Colorado fan, have been since the 1990's and even I'm starting to get annoyed with these pretend bandwagon stans.

Buckeye fan here. As of now I'd say one of the PAC 12 teams is maybe the best. Washington, USC, Oregon State or Oregon. No doubt teams like Georgia will be there in the end. They are good and have the talent to repeat but their offense has not been great. They will need to run more this year. Alabama looks bad on offense but I expect they will improve a lot. LSU could be the best team in the SEC West and maybe in the conference. Michigan has been average when you consider the talent they have but they will get better as the season progresses. Penn State looks like the real deal. Ohio State woke up the offense. It was against WK, but the QB play looked way better. Notre Dame looks like one of the better balanced teams out there. In a season like this the thing to watch is WHO IMPROVES the most. Some teams have a very high ceiling but have not hit their strides yet. Some are already firing on all cylinders (like Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, even USC). Penn State looks like they could become a physically dominanat team with a killer run game. And Georgia...the ceiling is high and they can turn it on. So can Ohio State. So can Michigan, maybe even LSU.

This seems true to me too. Who is going to emerge? Who emerges from the pack? Who takes it up a notch AT THE RIGHT TIME? Could be anybody in the top 12 to 13. This is a lot more fun than waiting to see Alabama or Georgia or Ohio St stumble. There are some great offensive powerhouses, but I think who comes up with the defense is going to be standing at the end. In a year like this come back to the old adage-defense wins championships.
