Melkor is meaner and more treacherous. Sauron was smarter.

Melkor was by far the most powerful and truly evil being in Middle-earth since his ultimate goal was either complete mastery or complete destruction of Arda, and he created most of the evil creatures that plagued the world for 15,000+ years, but Sauron was worse in some ways as he was more patient in his cunning, most treacherous with his wisdom in that he used other beings and artifacts better to magnify the power he possessed.

Who's stronger Lucifer or any common thief? Who's stronger Mike Tyson or Eddy Murphy? Sauron is just one of Melkor's slaves. It is an incomparable match. Melkor was the mightiest of all (except of Eru). He was smarter, stronger, more cruel... everything you think a million times more than Sauron

Thank you, excellent examples of who is stronger Mike Tyson or Sauron, it would be interesting to watch this match 😁😁😁 I also believe that Melkor was one of the Mightiest Beings and he deserves his own era.

Morgoth and Sauron made the same fatal flaw: Melkor dissipated most of his power into the world, Morgoth's Ring, which weakened him and chained him into a permanent physical form and Sauron immersed his power into the Ring of Power which made him in impotent spirit once the Ring was destroyed. It seems Sauron couldn't help himself but to mimick Melkor first into being the second Dark Lord then filtering his magical power outside himself.
