Backpacking to the top of Pikes Peak but with a twist: Meeting and hiking with strangers who became friends. We all enjoying the challenge of the adventure and the beauty of nature but learned a lot about ourselves over the 5 days.
Tom is was a great trip. I had low expectation because of my perception of Pikes Peak and the commercialization at the top but the hiking, camping, new acquaintances and scenery made the trip very memorable.
Great video. I know getting the camera set up on the trail and then going down to hike back up while being filmed adds to your fatigue but really gives a nice perspective of the journey. My knees are past doing this kind of hiking now but watching you guys made me feel like I was hiking along. Totally agree with what Candy said, what you see along the way and the experiences you go through make it all worthwhile.
Chris - It is great you are going through all the videos and watching them. Happy to hear you feel like you were hiking along with us. I know how hard it must be not to be able to hike due to your knees. I used to run all the time but no longer can, I miss it horribly. Every time I see someone running my wife says I am like a dog who wants to go play but it locked behind a fence, so I get it. Hope the videos help bring back that feeling of being outside in the wilderness for just a moment. I am still able to hike and backpack..... for now and always enjoy my time out in the wilderness. This is one of the least watched videos as it was early in my attempts to capture an experience and have learned a ton since then. Again really appreciate you taking the time to watch this video and the others.
