I have to wonder what the origin of the word 'Rani' is... 'Master' and 'Doctor' are clear, and in the Zygon episodes. It's suggested that their names are earned, or aspirational titles: 'The one who makes people better' Versus 'The one in charge'. Rani apparently is a Hindu word for 'Queen' so that could suggest something...

Rani Regenerates and it's no surprise that she'll have a significant impact on the timelines as it will be surprising as bio-regeneration and the butterfly effect. She'll but as whom. Maybe Miss Flood or Miss Twist or neither, but consider what Doctor believes about Gallifrey and his family and enemies like The Master and others including Rani is Gallifrey no more or did a clever time lord change the history of their world final full? Pocket Universe was created by Rani inside an old type 40 tardis, not the doctor tardis but her own. She stole a tardis and ran to Earth and hid from Gallifrey. The intriguing thing is she and The Master and Doctor were in the Time War but didn't the Master survive that war so isn't possible for Rani to survive as well and possibly find a way to Earth long before the Doctor comes back. Rani ends up near Ruby Rd and has been living there for many decades under the guise of a Miss Flood or Ruby's Gran don't forget Rani can still live as the Master has done in the past. Or perhaps it's Ruby herself? Rani is thought to have stolen a device that can grant her limitless regenerations and life-stilling energy powers. A ring she often wears. It can cause her to look like those she still lives from.
