I used to always think Clancy Brown was the voice of Painty the Pirate (Since both Mr Krabs and Painty both sound alike). It wasn't until years later that I found out it was Patrick Pinney from Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures and Fraggle Rock: The Animated Series.

I thought it was the voice of Mr. Krabbs that does Painty. It sounds like him.

As a kid I was terrified of that thing. I've never actually seen a full episode of SpongeBob because of that.

Wasn't there a few live action episodes starring the pirate? I remember the pirate hosting a party (that had a mermaid in an inflatable pool), finding a map, and stumbling upon a tree of forks. Or was that a different person? There's also that clip of the pirate being chased by a robot that's been floating around in depicted-by-Spongebob videos.

I have a theory that BurgerBeared got cursed, which was too turn into a painting whenever the theme song is sang, then at the end of Sponge Out Of Water he just sings the song for him too live his casual life because he probably got used to it after 15 years until the second movie

I may have a theory.. so, i coudent comply that people thinks painty and patchy are the same person but.. this is not true. because think about it.. patchy cannot get to meet spongbob and the real spongbob community said that patchy cannot meet spongbob. But painty met spongbob on an episode called "Your Shoe is untied". Well I might wanna dig this deeper. i think i got a another theory.. i think somebody put a curse on patchy and turned him into a painting or another possibity is someone has murderd patchy and his soul got placed in the painting or. maybe patchy is posessing painty the pirate.. and hes painty the pirate . i dont know though. im 100% honest that patchy and painty are not the same person so yeah.. i dont think patchy and painty are the same person.

there’s a missing episode but it’s not scary it’s called "Party Pooper" when spongebob invites his favorite friends but they break the rules. so there’s a odd thing, there’s an guy who acts like painty the pirate and he was really the same and the parrot was a doll, they was invited with a random funny grandma that can go into the speed of light. and sadly painty the pirate was just seen only in few scenes

Guys guys guys. I got some news about the 3rd Spongebob Movie! I just found out there was a game that was actually called Sponge in the Run! It’s on mobile I just wanted to say this, cause it is awesome!

Aside from the intro, he appeared in Your Shoe's Untied. In the horrible Truth or Square, he was replaced by a creepy animatronic.

What if Painty The Pirate ends up being SpongeBobs human self?

Here's my two cents on the matter... We know Bubbles the Dolphin from Sponge Out Of Water is capable of Time manipulation. One of the seagulls asks "Why don't ya take us back in time so we can finish our song?!" To which Bubbles reluctantly agrees. I believe he's so reluctant not because he just has disdain for the sequence, but because he knows time travel is tricky business. Regardless, he agrees and turns back the clock. Most would just see this as returning to before the debate, but I think it's a little further because of the massive entourage that helps finish the last line in the song. That entourage isn't usually there, so I think Bubbles sent them back in time further, to before SpongeBob was aware of Painty's/Burgerbeard's existence. While SpongeBob and his friends knew each other existed, they didn't all know Burgerbeard/Painty existed until the second movie. SpongeBob knew about him thanks to the events of Your Shoe's Untied, but he never told his friends about the painting who paints him as a celebrity. Once the events of the second movie passed, and they were all aware of his existence again, SpongeBob was a lot less strenuous with keeping the secret, hence the meta references to the theme song in newer season episodes like Old Man Patrick and Handemonium. The core cast knows about him now, having met him for what they to believe to be the first time, so it's ok to take cracks at the events, and prove to the audience that they really exist in the show's canon.
