She had good reason to be scared of everything because she didnt have the shelter and feel of protection from her mom...babies at this age are still being carried and held and fed the tit all the time. anna never has treated alba right since she was born. and i think the sniffing of her butt has everything to do with it...i dont think she likes who albas father is and doesnt want her..sad but true..because now with her new baby[who is by her new man] she sniffs her butt constantly and just loves and snuggles and feeds her..alba is to this day scared of anna and gets comfort and love from friends not anna..she wants to see her new sister but knows her mom will smack the shit out of her..im just glad shes finally away from the crazy beatch ..but thats how life is even for humans ,some get the good parents and great life and some get deplorable unimaginable lives...

Yes they are distantly related to us but they are not human and live by very different rules then humans. Their world is brutal to both young and old therefore they need a very different education. Anna is doing what any good monkey mom should do, teaching her children to survive and thrive in their world. Try not looking at it from the human perspective. These mothers don't have the choice of becoming pregnant and having babies like human women do. They have no say in the matter. But they know it is the price to pay in order to have the protection and security of a troop. But mothers like Anna take their jobs as monkey moms seriously and try to make sure these babies can survive in their world despite the fact that she didn't ask for this.

It isn't starving. Every time they are up on the tree, the mother nurses it. Of course long videos of that wont be entertaining compared to the drama we see now, so the VOs are pumping us with this notion its abused. I have yet to see a mother beat its baby to death.

You are right on, as that is spot on. Mom is tough for a good reason, as her little one will survive. The VO's don't show it, but she gets sufficient fountain time. Mom also protects her, as she recognizes her baby is a bit behind her age group. Oh, I dig mom's playful pushes, as the rascal gets tossed around...
