It has been over 30 years and only Luke, ghost Yoda, ghost Kenobi, ghost Anakin of course, and Leia, actually knew what really happened. So, it's easy to say that the First Order believe Vader died at the hands of Luke and the Rebellion, or even "worse", the Emperor betraying Vader and seeing him as a bad figure.

I actually thought Kylo was one of the few good things in the new Star Wars, with all the symbolism and subtlety to his character.

I've thought that from the beginning too. Most of these videos are pretty interesting but this one is mostly nonsense and grasping at straws, even having several inaccuracies (Dark side users did indeed have Force ghosts and other apparitions through the Force, most notably Exar Kun who almost killed Luke Skywalker on Yavin 4 after dwelling there for thousands of years in spirit form). Kylo wasn't speaking to anyone, it's the same when someone is at a parent's grave site and "talks" to them. Obviously they're not having a normal conversation but they're doing it as a form of self-fulfillment and a way to cope. I find it actually amusing that the video tries to argue that Kylo is literally talking to someone, which never entered my mind during or now after watching the movie. Vader's helmet is the tombstone, if you will, and Kylo is having a grave site conversation with the man he never met but desperately wants to become.

I thought it was more of a prayer than a visit to a grave, but to each their own.

why dont people understand that force awakens echoed the new hope because they needed something familiar to bring people back in to the star wars universe? I could see maybe a Sith phantom of some sort trapped in-between the living and cosmic force. This is probably the closest lore-friendly one we could get. Maybe the force has rejected them if they've corrupted their body too much or something.

While he couldn't cheat death himself as he was a Sith, he could still 'help' others if he wished. Palpatine said he killed Plagueis in his sleep; the theory of Plagueis surviving rests on Palpatine lying to Anakin. Pablo Hidalgo says he's dead and Snoke is a new character, so unless someone gets permission to bring Plagueis back in the future, he stays dead.

He didn't follow the Jedi Orders rules as other considered to be pure Jedi.....he had some conflict, yet never turned Dark, and it's been canonically stated that Qui Gon managed to learn to become one with the Force after he had died. Which gives reason as to why he didn't vanish so sudden. And why they burned him because an empty vessel of a dead Jedi could very well become corrupted by Dark Side or raised by a Sith who could manipulate life perhaps. But for Anakin, he was and is the only Jedi to turn Sith, and turn back. The moment he turned back to the Light Side, he was able to allow himself to pass on, but his Dark Side stayed within the body, being that they are in fact two entities created by both Light and Dark. One could argue that both the Light Side was born at the moment it had passed, whereas once this occurred, the Dark Side could be fully born in the empty body, as there is no more conflict to prevent it from happening. There could be so many explanations to why the Dark Side had stayed and the Light Side of Anakin departed. Because as I said, he is the ONLY Jedi to have done this, and there is no record or canon of what exactly would've happened. Which is why this is the most plausible theory for him staying alive as Vader, without Anakin in the body, and return as Snoke, a full and pure Dark Side being that was once half of Anakin. Would make sense why Luke had exiled himself, he learned that Vader had actually survived and no true balance was brought to the Force....he had failed.

the clone wars cartoon is...ugh...canon...which means to be able to 'force ghost' you need training. Yoda receives this training. Qui Gon didn't receive this training but Yoda being trained can...converse with Qui Gon-- and Yoda tells Obi-Wan that he will teach Obi-Wan how...(which means Yoda teaches Obi-Wan how to force ghost). How Anakin has learned this is not explained in the Clone Wars or Movies (yet...episode 8 could explain this). So...we know after episode 6...Anakin does reveal himself as a Force Ghost. So the Video makes sense in that regard, that Anakin isn't telling Ben Solo what to do. But, I gathered from that scene that Ben Solo is talking to the helmet in HOPES that it will speak back (which it doesn't.) I took that scene as anyone who needed guidance from an other worldly entity would do...'speak allowed' in hopes for a sign...priests do this, desperate people do this etc. Ben Solo speaking allowed to an object of who he strives for is just that...a desperate person trying to gain insight into something out of his control.

That's what I got out of the kylo scene as well, just basically praying at an alter so to speak. But the clone wars cartoon did mention that Qui Gon got only partial training on being a force ghost which he never completed, which is why he was only able to speak to dedicated jedi like yoda but even then in a limited capacity and someone receiving the full training would allow him to at least freely communicate with them. Which then leads Yoda telling Obi Wan how he will teach him how to commune with his old master and the end of Episode 3.

Depends on the kind of ghost. A sith spirit can appear to anyone, but they are usually bound to a single planet or place, whereas a jedi's ghost can appear anywhere, but only to another jedi.

He wrecked Finn. Survived a Bowcaster bolt, and demonstrated VERY strong Force power. This is only the first movie with him. Give him two more to mature. Think about it, Kylo has been the only space wizard for quite awhile. Unchallenged. So training wasn't something he was doing. So when Rey 'awakened' he wasn't ready. If you want to go off first films then Darth Maul was the weakest ever. But most fans cut him some slack cause of the extended universe where he was would cut in half sustaining himself. But had that never happen everyones favorite Sith (which still baffles me some) would of been a guy who killed Gon-Jin, and then got chopped in half. Kylo demonstrated some interesting new abilities, while show casing a ton of potential. So just give it a chance.

Somberlain I seem to actually believe that snoke is really, darth plagueis. before you tear my opinion apart let me explain, darth plagueis is the master to darth sidious and while it is said that plagueis "supposedly died" from injuries incurred by sidious, plagueis had extensive knowledge on the midichlorians and the force itself. he has used this knowledge to create a technique/ability to reanimate or bring life back into someone who is dead, he used this technique on his master who's name I'm unsure of, to test it to make sure it works. now to get to the point, if plagueis had the knowledge to bring his old master back from the dead several times, what if he had found a way to bring himself back from the dead and go into hiding until he was presented an opportunity to strike, this opportunity being, his new identity as snoke, a figurehead for the first order who is being used to do his bidding.

Dark force useres cant be force ghosts. Revans dark side was still alive and his light side was a force ghost.

Maybe Vader's dark side spirit is trapped inside his helmet. But who knows, concept art for TFA shows a dark side force ghost, so if Disney wants a dark side force ghost, they can make it happen. Whatever says dark side users can't have force ghost is is probably legends. Or, Snoke is Vader's dark side, that survived his death, with his light moving on to become a force ghost but his darkness becoming Snoke.

I think that's what happened..Maybe Anakin is trying desperately to save Kylo, but his evil doppelganger, Darth Vader, is corrupting Kylo.

There is alot of explanation here, so this is gonna be long. (To be clear, caps are used for nothing more then for emphasis) Lets start with the statement. It would be impossible for kylo to be talking to Vader. So. ur bringing up revan, so kotor (Knights of the old republic). remember on korriban, valley of the dark lords? ajunta palls way to eternal life was his blade. he used the dark side to cling his soul onto it. even though he used the force as his SLAVE, not his ally (thus the greeting - "may the force serve you well"), once his fleshly body died he was able to live on through that object, his blade. this is how dark side users ensure the eternal survival of their spirits. they arent allies with the force, they cannot live thru, or WITH it. Once a dark side user is dead... he's dead. But by using the force as their slave, thru their "art" they are able to cling their souls to a particular object, and thus survive thru it. light side users, however work WITH the force (thus the greeting - "may the force be with you"). the force is their ally, they live through the force ITSELF. (the art still needs to be learned though and studied. remember yoda and the force priestesses in CW, also yoda in episode III talks about qui-gon 'old friend has learned the path to immortality'). through the path of light as their bodies die, light side users soul continues on with the force, I guess you could pretty much call their fleshly bodies a shell. (if you're still a bit unsure of what I'm talking about, check out this same user, stupendous wave "can sith become force ghosts". though there are a few things he hasn't addressed, he explains how the sith way to immortality is different from the jedi way pretty well). now that we get the whole "eternal life through force" concept, let's go on to kylo talking to vader. Vader turned to the light side at the end of return of the jedi. (this is one of the things that wave didn't explain in the video "can sith become force ghosts" - how did vader become a force ghost just by simply killing sidius. dark side was still very much within vader, not to mention that he likely didn't know about the ability to live forever thru the force, let alone study the art, and of course there is no mention of him studying the sith way to immortality by use of an object (to clear up the episode III confusion, in case there might be one. when palpatine was talking to anakin, the plagueis story was about how plagueis was able to create life and stop the living from dying, not live into eternity using the force) but nvm that now). Vader turned to light and somehow, what took yoda and obi-wan almost two decades to learn and master, only seconds before his death vader brilliantly learned on his own how to live thru the force, so he became a force ghost. Anyway, we see here that vader has turned to the light side, he is alive thru the FORCE. not thru an OBJECT. he could not have clinged his soul to the helmet. And he isnt using it to live. vader has no connection to it aside from the fact that he used to wear it. kylo could only be talking to Vader if vader was the dark lord when he died (again that's if vader had learned of the sith way to immortality, by clinging his soul to an object). but since vader turned to the light and his spirit is with the force, vader the dark lord doesnt exist and thus has no connection to an object (the helmet). there is no way to talk to a light side user through a dark side users techniques after death. I guess you could say that the force forbids it, maybe doesn't work that way???whatever. so kylo could not have been talking to vader, he had to have been talking to someone else. (If I'm missing or mistaking something here, someone please correct me.) Hope I've explained this well.

Who knows, that might have been to late then. As he had recently been in contact with Emperor.... something's lightning, he was probably critically damaged and had very little time left. I think what he did was right, as he proved himself worthy to the light side of the force by killing his master. I also think it was a sad moment when Vader, or Anakin as I'd like to call him after his action, died. It wasn't the lightest moment, but it wasn't the darkest one either. What I want to know, is how the fuck Kylo Ren managed to get Vader's helmet as it was destroyed in the fire.
