so looking at Ariens, if a Crossover 179 cc two stage and a 208 cc commercial single stage are similarly priced - which way would you lean? Midwest - Lake Effect snow, most storms are about 6 inches but there is at least 1 storm a year where its 18 inches or more. I know "in general" a 2 stage is better, but is a one stage commercial going to do almost as good of a job, and likely last a bit longer due to the beefier "commercial" build?
The single stage throwers will only do a couple inches of snow. They work GREAT if you get a bunch of 3" snowfalls. The crossover isn't going to handle the really deep stuff very well either. If you're getting lake-effect snow, you should probably have a true 2 stage blower. You'd be happier with it anyway.
I would say if your looking for a well built snow blower ariens is your blower would never buy a cub cadet now power you need a toro if you want torque and good engine Honda but there is know best just preference I’ve ran them all and they all are good but I’m currently running toro!
Ariens are not "cheaper quality", but you can absolutely spend twice as much on a Honda. They're great blowers too. Just remarkably overpriced. I'll take a 15hp commercial Ariens over an 8hp residential Honda for $2500 🤷♂️
@@rocketsoutdoorpower6971 I got my used Honda 1332 tracks in mint condition from Honda dealer for $895 + tax. Compared it to my 28” deluxe sho. Both awesome but Honda wins in deep snow.
