They're using an effect called a bit crusher!! It can compress audio, much like how games in the 90s and early 2000s used compressed audio files to save space on the tiny space of CD roms
I'd say it sounds more like a 90's point and click graphic adventure computer game. The only 2000's game that I remember which sounded like this is Super Mario Advance from GBA.
What makes wood Jerry’s actions at the end so much more selfish, is the sheer fact that none of them even wanted the varnish just Jerry, so he left them all to die because he felt the varnish was so important that they would obviously then turn on him to take it.
@@Suno-ta-sei wood Jerry was different I believe. I think he just wanted his family to want to live along with him and he came to the conclusion that they were in the way of his survival so he decided to let them go and survive on his own. Which he did to his utter horror.
@@MrDonKP You think wrong. He didn't want them to live with him: he left them to die. He neither wanted them to survive: why would he otherwise lock the door behind them? Although, in your eyes, wanting to survive would be selfishly murdering each other through parasitism. Wanting to live, according to this Jerry, was putting your own needs before others. You omit why he did what you phrased so positively. Are you trolling? It's likely. You built up a case full of bs.
@@the_very_cozy_burrito The actual Summer says a lot of things that she firmly believes while in the moment, but whenever she's in a crisis where she doesn't have the upper hand, she breaks. (very similar to Rick) This Summer sounds exactly like the Summer who wanted to carpe diem, or the Summer who thought toothpicking was her thing. Like a lot of teenagers, she doesn't actually know what she wants, she just gets caught up in the moment of the latest thing she's found to be cool.
As much as Wooden Jerry was a spineless traitor, Wooden Summer was all talk when she wanted to fight the decoys and have a "glorious death", she ends up running away to the escape elevator.
Probably to show how low-effort the Wooden Smiths' creator was, he wasn't going to bother with flesh-and-blood decoys, so he went with wood. Wooden bodies, wooden personality, and wooden speech.
She wanted glorious death in Decoy Battle, not dishonorable death in Squid Massacre. There is a difference one was a sneak attack the only just found out about and the other was similar to the brawl at the Smith house later in the episode. Quite a couple good Ricks in there though. Like the bucket list one. Kind of agreed on that Jerry's bucket list about seeing a game at every major ball park "Nope." Decoys kept getting killed like every nanosecond. That Jerry should've at least aimed for something more achievable.
Exactly. People blame Jerry for letting them die, but not only would he be risking himself, they WANTED to die in battle. But people will go to any lengths to shit on Jerry. 😂
@@FalonGrey Out of so many Smith Families fighting and even dying together, he fled wanting to live. Many of the other Jerries at least died with their families. Heck in his last moments one Jerry actually took an entire Smith family out with him.
just like a jerry, running from glorious death in decoy battle, that summer will be witnessed and shall be carried to the gates of valhalla, where she will ride eternal, shiny as chrome!
@@toasthead well yeah but it still grants the upper hand and being unprepared. A “death of glory” is knowing exactly what you’re going into and dying in valiant combat, not being taken by surprise. Still a chance it’s just bad writing, but a lot of “warriors of old” had this same mentality and like to know what battle they are going into, even if they know that they are going to die
@@PikachuLittleNo, what makes him a coward is abandoning his entire family and countless other smith families because he wanted the varnish all for himself even when the others clearly didn’t want it.
Whats fuck up is that he betrayed them because he wanted to keep the varnish for himself. The varnish that nobody in his family cared for to begin with
The glockenspiel family were my favorite decoys. They wanted to help decoys instead of killing them (except Glockenspiel Summer who "craved decoy battle"). Too bad the Jerry of the group had to betray the whole family and kill them over "varnish".
