6-9 ice cream sandwiches/bars (depending on size)
15 oreo cookies for base + 5 more for topping (you may want to consider crushing an additional 5 cookies to add as a middle layer if desired, like discussed in the video).
2-3 different types of ice cream
I used about 3 cups per layer and used 2 kinds
3-4 cups whipped topping (like Cool Whip) about one large tub.
Chocolate and caramel sundae topping for garnish.
Lightly spray the sides of a 9" springform pan. Line sides with parchment paper, just tall enough to to to the edge of the pan.
Crush 15 oreo cookies in food processor, add 1 tbsp milk and process again, or simply stir milk in well with a spoon.
Cut the ice cream bars evenly in half lengthways and then across the middle to get four pieces. Line the pieces along the edge of the pan, standing up like a picket fence. Put the pretty side toward the outside of the pan and cut side in.
Add the crushed oreos/milk to the center of the pan and spread out evenly. Pat cookies down.
Place in freezer for one hour.
Take ice cream out of the freezer and allow to soften for 15 minutes.
Scoop out portions of ice cream and spread into the bottom of the pan (over the oreos). Fill to about half way up the ice cream bars. Drizzle with chocolate syrup and caramel syrup if desired, I recommend adding a layer of crushed oreos here as well.
Add second amount of softened ice cream, fill until just under the edge of the top of the ice cream bars.
Spread Cool Whip in the center until it reaches the top of the ice cream bars and spread out evenly.
Put Cool Whip into a piping bag with a star tip.
Pipe decorative edge as desired, fill center space with 5 crushed oreos and drizzle top with more caramel and chocolate syrup.
Freeze several hours or overnight.
Remove sides of pan and peel off parchment before serving.
