We have a ton of these overflow ponds where I live. Colorado has so many rivers and one way we utilize the mountain run-off is our seasonal overflow ponds. They fill up in early spring and typically dry back out by fall. When they aren't full of water they become havens for wildlife. In fact, every overflow pond is in a protected wildlife area and we have a paved walkway called The River Front Trail that literally spans 24 miles of the river as it flows through our city. Pretty cool and I like your execution with all the grasses!!!

GOD I love the designs, AND I love the water-minded, ecologically minded design! I hate cars and parking lots, but you've put a very charmed little spin on it. Love to see it!

Thanks and it's the Dutch part of me, we need to constantly think of water, though the nature parts is (and I am very happy about this) a growing things when it comes to design, like the realisation that a lot of things nature can do themself if you give it space. May I ask why you hate cars, (I do too, not from that) I am just curious?

@@PoisonBlade I'm a huge Cyclist, and hate competition and feeling unsafe on the roads. Plus, I'm in North America, and everything is so car-centric in design, I've biked through neighborhoods that don't even have sidewalks D:

I have seen the entirety of Kayan al-bashar and Eve Zoo, so I have no idea why I never ended up checking out Naturalis. This looks gorgeous; the naturalistic environmental design of the parking lot area is truly a sight to behold. However: you mention that parking lots are easy to build. I'd like to disagree there, because after 1300 hours in the game I still haven't figured out how to make them look nice 😂

the tip is to use a lot of trees and dont make 1 huge lot but multiple smaller lots that you can connect with paths to the entrance... also more trees!

I don't know if this is a thing in Europe/the Netherlands but one term you can look for regarding accessibility is 'universal design' - which means you design buildings (and urban environments, considering your field) for universal access, so anyone: elderly folks, kids, people with mobility or other limitations etc, and access the thing you make.

You may have made the garden ''wheelchair accessible,'' but you really didn't make it 'wheelchair friendly.' With path being narrow and having so many tight curves in the design it would be difficult for a wheelchair user to stay on the path.

You would definitely need or want assistance but then most of the time you don't really stay in these gardens, nowadays its more taking pictures and you move on, so there would most likely be someone with you for the pictures

My daughter studied graphic design in the states, she had a couple classes in 3 D architecture, Maya or Mayan software, not really sure of the spelling, and she enjoyed but ultimately realized it was not for her. She has been drawing on a Wacom drawing pad since the 4 th Grade. We, I mean her and her father, had a fit when she asked for an upgraded Cintiq pad. That price!

She does most of her graphic designs now on a Dell laptop that she can draw directly onto screen. Amazing tech growth in this field.

I think it's a bad thing that I immediately knew what you meant with supermarket parking, like the plain dull asphalt everywhere kind of parking (at least a sea of concrete was on my mind right away). And I am sure you can build something like this and no need to thank me for sharing, I love making vids and builds so its a pleasure for me to share. 💚

My husband's a school bus driver and I'm a bus assistant so I see buses driving around a lot. And I'm just going to say that you'd be very surprised at places buses can get into. If the buses are entering one at a time I think you have plenty of room. :3 This is such a nice design.
