Who's afraid of Coronavirus? 

It's almost strange to hear John speak on current events. It's like he exists in a timeless state outside all such matters.

I can only imagine how many peoples moods and emotions are comforted by your words John. Good on you lad.

I reckon Jon could talk to the coronavirus and his wise words would persuade it that it had made some bad life choices and start a new career as a probiotic.

I’ve had a terribly traumatic day. Five minutes of listening to John and it all faded into nothing.

My grandfather died when i was very young, so I really enjoy watching John speak and give advice, as almost a surrogate grandfather. He gives off a sagely atmosphere, both in appearance and the way he speaks, everything is very deliberate and calm.

I’m not a believer in the god of the Bible myself, (I used to be, but that’s another story) but I do know the invisible presence he speaks of and know that his beliefs are no less valid than mine are. There truly is no reason to fear, but it’s easier said than done. Letting go of fear is one of the most monumental things you can do for yourself.

I'm 24 and an atheist, I dont believe in life after death. I would absolutely love to believe in it. But I cant, given all the evil that is happening around the world. (With that said I absolutely love your videos on meditation and the philosophical anecdotes). I am scared of the virus not for my sake, as it is mostly older people who are in danger of complications. I'm scared for my parents, my dad being my biggest support system and the absolutely best man I know - I cant bear the though of getting them sick because I didnt take the threat seriously and went to clusters of people like concerts etc... my dad is 60+ and mom is 60. They have their own existing health issues and it terrifies me to think that if they got sick and it were fatal, that was it for our time together. I will never ever see them again. And never had the chance to do something to thank them for all the support, especially my dad. Life after death seems to be a solution to my worry - I tried very hard to believe that. I cant

Fortunately some of us value real life more than a fantasy future of nothingness.And would like to prolong it as long as possible.It's a shame you hold the gift of life so lightly Mr Butler.Everybody has their own beliefs.Only some are believable and some are pure speculation within an individuals mind.

There is a time to be born and a time to die. God knows that time, therefore It's important we are right with our Creator and not walk in unforgiveness. However, He gave us common sense and that means taking the basic advice on self care. It opens up a bigger question; how delicate we are in the body, it's temporal. However our Soul and Spirit is who we are. Perhaps this could let us think about our eternal life and our relationships with others. Nobody knows what is tomorrow...Be ready...

Just curious is John a Gnostic or a Christian mystic? Either way, I'm not a Christian but lean more towards western esoteric practices, but theres so much universal truth in his messages, love the videos, always helpful.

Dear John and Phil. Thanks again for this video. I have had on my mind the urge to ask if it would be possible to have conversations on specific hindrances that cloud the mind for so many. For example, I’d be curious to hear John’s thoughts on doubt (something that personally eats away at me), on anger, on self disparagement and an inability to accept/love oneself, on restlessness, on addiction, on loneliness, and, as partially addressed in this video, a conversation on fear/anxiety (another big one for me which really makes life difficult). These powerful forces seem to overwhelm so many, and I think John’s understanding of these phenomenon and any comments on better ways of understanding/relating to these forces, and how to deal with them, may be beneficial to many. Yes, we're all going to die, but would you rather die of a horrible disease or natural old age? Would you rather die after seeing your child grow up and have children of their own, or leave them fatherless at a young age? Your death has an effect on more people than just you, regardless of your personal beliefs.

I love the opening question. Then when John appears without wearing a mask, that says it all.

The reason for all the precautions is, that over 10% of those infected, close to 20% need to be hospitalised. 5% ends up in an ICU. They simply dont have the hospitalbeds and facilities. On 5 million cases that would be 500.000 to 1.000.000 hospitalbeds, 100.000 people in an ICU for perhaps as long as a week. Or even longer.Thats the worry.

Fear can lead to a longer life. Being afraid of the right things kept our ancestors alive. So it's understandable why people are so attached to their own fear like velcro as the man said in this video.

I didn't realize that 3,000 deaths don't matter. My apologies. Sarcasm aside, fear can be a tool to get people to do what is necessary to protect themselves and each other. Aren't religious Christians afraid of hell? Sorry for sounding mean. I just want people to wash their hands and to make sure the people affected get the support they need.

I find this video so very comforting, l am sending it to others who are in allot of fear. I get what John is saying, it's so wise and reassuring. Yes. I feel so grateful that my fear of death is leaving me. I am not attached at all to life. I live it my way in truth, but look forward to going HOME when it's my time. I just dont want to be in pain - otherwise l plan to be present fully to the leaving. Being un-attached to clinging to life is liberating. I love how real Phil is re he's wrapped in protection and how he was so honest and accepting as was John of Phil's fear. Just delightful and no shaming or judgement from either men. I love that!!!. As always John is spot on. For anyone interested Jesus gives a clear teaching on our attraction to guilt, pain, death and fear in the nondual spiritual text, A Course In Miracles, chapter 19, section 4, The Obstacles to Peace, page 406. Thank you!

The irrational approach of Fear is an expression of the nervous system's fight and flight response when it perceives a threat so biology is at play here and the desire to stay alive is a powerful instinct and part of that is the brain's 'negativity bias' which is hypervigilant to 'perceived' danger and produces a lot of negative thinking and perceptions. It's part of our survival mechanism, which could help us stay alive. The problem is that it can be detrimental when we can't bring our cognitive brain into gear and see the situation more clearly. Our survival brain is important but as human beings, we have a spiritual dimension which brings us in touch with compassion and wisdom that will keep us much safer than compulsive fear. If we know how to calm that negativity bias down and return to our resilience via spiritual practice, meditation, prayer and resourcing we can help get ourselves out of that fear survival cycle.

Many thanks for this Mr Butler and Phil - we've had to had to put up warnings in the residential home where I work, but I do think that society of today has a tendency to overreact and magnify issues such as this. I'm not trivialising Coronavirus in any way but I believe the media play a huge part in sensationalising situations.

Almost 2024 here, and it was WILD seeing the interviewer in practically a hazmat suit. Poorly fitted N95 mask and all. Good heavens, what a time it was!

People, don't fear the virus. But please DO protect yourself (and therefore others). Don't take his words the wrong way by acting foolish and contaminating your surrounding. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FEAR AND BEING CAUTIOUS!

I find it interesting that religion has always told people to fear God and fear going to hell. How many people have been prevented from being at one with god due to this horrible philosophy. I think the only hell is the one we create for ourselves. I wonder if John has any thoughts on this subject. Great video as always.

This man has an aura of love that cannot be denied. Its amazing to see him as he is in a world where the hearts of many grow cold. I've always believed that God the Father is love. That to be closer to him is to feel more and more love.

First thing, trust in God the father. Worry not, Jesus instructs us, if we simply put faith in God and let His will be done, so much in life would fall BACK into place. John is very wise and thankfully we can hear his advice, but always trust in God my friends :) Thx John
