I guess trains, buses and bikes don't feature in the SNP's vision for the future. As much as they are progressive for Scotland, the SNP seems to be regrettably backwards-looking when it comes to transport policy, particularly given that the brief is (mostly) devolved. Such a shame... good luck anyway.

Enough is enough. I will be voting for SNP, as will all my family - some being lifelong labour supporters. We need more power for Scotland. We might have not got independence... but still we have this opportunity!! Don't vote for a lesser of the two devils. Make your vote count. The turnout for the indi ref was amazing, it put fire in everyone's belly.

John Donaldson it does look an awful lot like a car advert though... it rather suggests that this is how the SNP see things, namely from the confides of a car, which is (in my opinion) a rather regressive viewpoint.
As a Scotsman I am pleased Scotland has a voice in Westminster now. But I really feel sorry for the English, they do not have a party like the snp, to stand up to labour, to stand up to the Tories. Sure you can say ukip, but they're main gra is to take the uk out of Europe. There is no one fighting for the people. Looking out for places that are poverty stricken. Of course only you by yourself the first one stand for your own people. If even you don't stand for your own people, who will? But have UK split up just because of a small difference? What can be done alone? UK is no longer UK if Scotland leaving. Scotland was also no longer Scotland when it left the UK. As a Singaporean i have seen how Ireland image fall after totally out from UK, yes indeed they got freedom but even a freedom must be reasonable. My Singapore also now feel it, we are too small, we are rich but even our middle class cannot own a car and house except for apartment, this is because our land is limited, we also host millions of foreign workers and lot of our people now seeking home at neighbor country because who wants torture yourself in such of limited things? This all comes at a price, i mean different thing had different end maybe, maybe what you need right now is to force the UK to think about itself, care about the UK itself before thinking about another country. UK civilization was so advanced at the time that some predecessors started helping other countries but it's been a few decades now with a lot of inner problems in the UK and i think it's only natural Scotland would be dissatisfied with the UK Govt decision

Sometimes I don't get the prime minister of Scotland. The U.K. as a single state is the fifth economy in the world, second in Europe, member of the Commonwealth, member of NATO, member of the G7 and G20, permanent member of the security council of the United Nations. It's a great country recognised so even from foreigners. Why the SNP want transform Scotland in a tiny, insignificant country on the world stage a part of the country? I can understand they want some autonomy but they already have this, maybe the British government can discuss again this but independence is not serious. Nowadays everything matter in global terms. If Scotland decide to rejoin the EU will be a small, tiny country inside the German-French empire called EU. The number of European Parliamentarians is based on population, the council of Europe which have much more power is based on population. Is clear that Germany and France don't want count like smallest ones. Scotland could even damage is own people. Scotland is on the same island of England and Wales, I cannot even imagine check, border and control, currency, security between these nations. Come on Scots! You have your tax system, your education system, your health system. We are a great country because we are unite! I love the English, the Scots, the Welsh, the Irish, but above all I love the British! long live the United Kingdom!

Aidan Cassidy These food banks need to be regulated, i think they should be means tested. What the people in Maryhill need is a culture and attitude change, not more money handed to them that was taken from hard working people's pockets. And ill tell you this, under the SNP, food bank usage will rise. They have no credibility when it comes to spending and raising taxes and have not even indicated how they would solve the issue of people going to food banks. Party of the benifit class supported by deluded people that think there is some sort of social status awarded to them for having over the top nationalistic pride and for caring about people who would probably rob thrm if given hslf a chance. I don't buy it at all. Vote torry and look after the hard working people of this country (the people who HAVE built this country and are continuing to do so) earner not takers. Aidan Cassidy one orther thing BTW, there is nothing wrong with food banks. Going to a food bank is no different from going to a jobcentre ...the only difference is that what is given out by food banks was donated by choice whereas whats handed out at jobcentres was just taken from other people against their will. I think we should do away with jobcentres all together and create a voluntary welfare centres that work off donations. Then all the people who want to be financially responsible for other people can do so. Take it away from government and put it in people's hands.
smcg job centres don't give you money . . . . they give you opportunity's to get jobs. They aren't affiliated with benefits. And you seem to think that people in benefits are lay abouts and thiefs, this is simply not true. In fact more that 50% of benefit's are pensions and most of the rest is single parent subsidies. This idea that people using benefits are all scroungers is simply scare mongering and scapegoating.
smcg "there is nothing wrong with food banks" !!! are you insane? you do realise that many people who use food banks are in employment right?? and that most people who receive benefits are in employment. we have more food banks now in 2015 than we've ever had. the real problem is the failed economic policies of a litany of westminster goverments, both Labour and Tory. there aren't enough jobs which pay a living wage and the current austerity measures (of which Lab/Con will deliver more!!) are penalising the people who most need help. we desperately need change my friend.. where is your social conscience? the idea that we can rely on the wealthy to voluntarily donate what is needed is so ludicrous i'm laughing as i type this. get a grip.
