Dan was a ventriloquist and Gene was his dummy. Dan was supposed to tell how he had saved the dummy from an attack from a rabid pheasant as a conversation between them both. Earlier Gene had a card that he was a one eyed one armed mime trapped in a box with 4 rabid ferrets. Who knew that card would come into play again in this particular situation.
