Vanilla game mostly, the mods supported it while ago, but these days you would need to strip a good part of the mods scripts to make it work again. As far as I remember it is not that stable either, since the original game services are long time gone.

If only GC multiplayer was a little bit more stable and the mechanics were more accessible. My first technique would to be sending probing scouts of X-wings or Tartans to every nearby system to scout so as to see what the opponent has but I would also be starting a slew of battles I have no intention of fighting just retreating from immediately.

I'm surprised at the number of people that didn't know multiplayer GC existed. It's been in the base game since forever... at least I think. I had the Gold Pack and did the ol' switch-a-roo with multiple pcs to play LAN with my bros

I think you probably should have given Mark a 3 minute head start since the Empire upgrades tech slower than the Rebels. Has the recent patch made GC multiplayer more stable?

AFAIK is stable enough to play for maybe about 30min~2hrs before crashing in some way. I highly advise saving after every major conflict. Be sure to remind the host to save as well.
