@@falo4043 It's not like King being a grab character is the deal with T7 atm, it's still a great unique playstyle for the character, the bullshit is with King's delayed fundamental moves and his shove attack which still takes the absolute piss out of AK's shove.
@@welsh_steel2285 Kings shove, ff1 and most of all his df2 (even Majin thinks df2 is busted) makes AKs mids seem trash in comparison lol, but at least AK got better lows than king now so that's something
@@Silvers_7 Also AK has better crouch dash grab timings/faster start up. For King, if you are really good, then you can just fuzzy duck Kings crouch dash grab almost everytime.
I think it's Zafina for me. It's not fun having my entire movelist being made irrelevant by a single backdash. And yet she has fantastic range and tracking on her key moves
Actually it should be like that, most of your move list can be evaded by a single korean backdash or sidestep. That's the identity of backdashing and sidestepping, and it was like that in the previous games. Now only zafina is left possessing a Korean backdash and sidestep that should be the proper one. I think every character in the game should be buffed like that, because right now, i can't consider Tekken as a 3d game. Almost every move in the game is homing (even though the "homing" property is not stated in the move's instructions). You can't get the utility of backdashing and sidestepping while you should've had. Devs do this purposedly in order to make the game so easy to play and with this way, selling the game to the noobs. Because defending is so hard in the game, but mindlessly attackking is completely easy and when you tracing out the sidestep and movement from the game, you are making defending unnecessary. So because of this horrible decision, you cant decide who is a decent player and who is not because of it is so easy for a noob to beat a experienced and a better player than himself/herself
same played very little Tekken tag 2 with drag and some rando characters for starters then actually played him in Tekken 6. wasn't great at the game so busted f,f2 and his tackles were very fun
I hate Hwoarang, but I feel like most of us who hate him are low-mid level players who can't handle all his stupid strings and mixups and we can't be bothered to lab him for hours on end. He carries people in most ranks, but at the top level, people don't really mind fighting him cuz they know the matchup well, and top players usually only dislike top tiers, like 2d, zafina, marduk, julia, leroy, fahk, etc which makes sense. Also I think AK, Dragunov and Lee are the least hated characters universally , which makes me happy as I main AK lol.
@l'avenir proche People hate the evasion that character is capable of If you know the matchup or try to lab him, he is very to laughably minus on a lot of stuff and uber sidesteppable (right side) lol
I only play Steve and Yoshi, so if I can pick up a character I've never played, go to ranked and just start winning by pressing random buttons, I start disliking the character. I pick Shaheen I counter hit launch randomly mid string all the time. I pick Marduk I just tackle and do his annoying low and df1. I pick Eddy or Hwoa I give the controller to a monkey and it will discover new set ups and tech on its own within minutes. I pick Negan I never lose plus frames and if I do I power crush launch ez pz.
Hwaorang will continue to be one of the most hated of the default roster, due to the growth of the character from T5. it's such a unique curve to stop his assault as he can flow chart all day if you leave him to it and you need a really dedicated Hwaorang buddy to get really used to the matchup as he's so overloaded on moves and variations. If I was a T8 dev I would rework him immediately, in a game where you have to remember the moves and animations of over 40 characters, Hwaorang is like 3+ characters worth of knowledge check.
@@yokun1885 are you saying that there needs to be a collective coming together of sorts on who people hate so they can be "bro's"? In contrast if they game was lovely and balanced in all aspects peoples thoughts would jumble and it would be chaos??? I see the positive of redesigning Hwaorang into a more tame character, it would destroy that boring twat called K-Wiss xD
@@yokun1885 did I or anyone else say that Hwaorang is op? The only op thing about the character is that he has good throws to go with his potential oppressive mix up game. You're not understanding me much, when I said overloaded I mean with too many moves. Along with too many moves he has an evasive punch so to be a defensive player vs him takes almost a pro level capability. If your idea of a character concept is to have a character so full of moves and variations that it's almost impossible for the defender to read your next move then this is against Tekken's fundamentals, let alone Hwoarang's. People who main Hwoarang don't like to admit it, especially with all the hard work they do with JFSR and crafting a natural oppressive strategy when on the offensive with the character.....but this guy carries them, hard (he doesn't win tournaments btw because nearly every pro in the top 64 or higher has huge experience with Hwaorangs, 1000+ games worth of experience, which most people don't get!). I'm not surprised there is a fanbase for Hwaorang, there are people who just want to win, cheaply, I see plenty of them in quick matches with 4000+ wins, it's an unhealthy addiction.
@@yokun1885 Trust me the many times I’ve raged with Hwoarang I had to use AK to punish the kid with timing and strategy, I’d say rework around the character
Hworang is not only the most hated character in the game, the mains are also the most toxic people out there. I´ve got so many hwo´s who won one round, ki charged, left the game and sent toxic message. I think no other players did something like that exept for hwo players and no joking, this happened like 5 times already
Wow.. Well, sorry about that. I main Hwo but I’m one of the nicest and I never charge people or write hate mail. You must be from a different area as me because Bryan players are the most toxic
@@Stiffs8000 I see. No harm done, bro. I’m from the U.S. so I guess more Hwo players in Europe are toxic? I don’t know. Maybe because they know they’re hated or they just assholes
@@Wutangmethod EU Hwo main here and honestly there wasn't a single time a Hwo main was toxic to me. It's Bryan mains that are the most toxic from my experience and a few Mishima mains cause they believe they are far more superior than everyone else. Side note: I only play quick matches to avoid overall toxic players so it might be different in ranked
Lei, for me it's always Lei. Not only is his match up obscene but his vocals more grating than Laws. How do you design someone to be more irritating than Law, Namco?
I feel that I can't hate on a character's playstyle if I myself haven't made any efforts in learning the match-ups. Having said that, I hate how I can't go into practice mode with the DLC characters and lab them to get a better understanding on how they work and when to punish them.
I don't like lily. From playstyle to looks. Like I know it's a video game and I'm not bothered by any other character's unrealistic moveset but when she does her floater where she twirls up and he hits you with her hand. I'm here thinking "how tf does that lift me up?" It's like watching my ho bar go down when she's not even hitting hard.
I have less problem with characters (Kuni is the only exception) and more individual players. Like it's very obvious how a lot of DLC players are carried by their character's novelty and crumble as soon as they can't abuse their strings anymore.
Welp %99 of the player base crumbles when you take them offline or not allow them to use seable low, seable strings and throws they just know how to abuse online system not tekken.
I’m a Hwo main and it sucks getting so much hate.. But I’ll never stop playing him. I rarely get hate mail anymore because I play more respectful and not cheap. I admit, some Hwo players are annoying as fuk. It’s because they have weak fundamentals and spend more time being offensive rather than playing more solid and strategic.
Hwoarang is cool. The only gripe most people had with him is that he is frustrating to play against, with all of his 50/50, plus frames after plus frames, and various stuff you can do if you can master him.
I never labbed him because he doesn't really interest me. That being said he pisses me off big time in ranked. Maybe the player just like to play him full retard full mash BS but I hate it when I face one.
I hate everyone equally. OK maybe I hate a bit more King, any kind of Jin and this one character that I never know it's gender... And Lee since he has annoying sounds
Yoshi? It's a 50/50 for me. In terms of moves and gameplay, he's low to mid tier for a reason. Good players love the character and his shenanigans. Match audiences (as far as I've seen online) like to watch him do his stuff. But players who play against a good Yoshi hates him. xD
@@AngeloGene that's probably accurate. I live in the Yoshi capital of the US, Seattle. We have Jermanji and JustFrameJames here. A lot of people complain about playing against the character due to his tech traps at the wall, flash, spin and other stuff lol. I have 0 complaints about Yoshi personally but people do hate him
Character I dislike based on fighting style: Negan/Akuma Character I dislike based on design: Lucky Chloe/Julia Character I like based on fighting style: Hwoarang or Kazuya (yeah yeah I like Hwoarang) Character I like based on design: Bryan/Lili
It sucks to Main hwoarang I love him just because his character and story but Ik he does have tools in his kit that makes him hated lol surprised players don’t universally hate Julia or zaf tho
i don't understand why people hate hwoarang so much. In my opinion characters like Alisa and Katarina are so much worse. At least hwoarang is cool and unique
I don't hate the character.. I hate playing against him. He seems like a super chill guy, nice style with lots of leather and likes motorbikes. Represents Korea and Tae-Kwon-Do pretty well. Also, he's gay for Jin. Deserted the military only to pursue his platonic lover. What could go wrong?! The fact that he doesn't seem to ever be minus nor his players ever stop hitting buttons. His playstyle is NOT LETTING ME PLAY THE GAME TOO, FOR FUCK'S SAKE! Why is he the only one who can have fun?
@@henriquecampos4120 Yeah i get that it sucks that he's the one pressing buttons most of the time haha, i play hwoarang a lot and hate it too when i play against one. The thing is, his whole design is based on that, whenever he is in flamingo (which are important stances for him), he has to do attacks cause he can't block. I know it can be annoying, but it's also what makes him unique and i like how he can be so vulnerable when you make the right reads/blocks. When it comes to some other characters like the ones i mentioned, i feel like they aren't as special or cool which is why i would rather say i ''hate'' those
