And just in case anyone is curious how to find the answer, here goes. So you make $40,000 a year x 10 years, that would be $400,000 total. Then, you have to take into account the fact that you spend $2,000 a month, which is $24,000 a year, which is $240,000 over the course of 10 years. So take $400,000 - $240,000 = $160,000. That would be the amount of money you have left over after expenses. But remember, you want to have $100,000 saved, so take that out of your excess money, because you want to save it. Then, you end up with $60,000 you would have left over to spend over the course of 10 years, which is 120 months. So take $60,000 / 120 months, and you get $500 spending money after expenses. 😁
