I know it will never happen, but it would be awesome if there was just 1 streaming service from MLB that had every team and every single game. MLB could give all of the money from the subscriptions to the teams and they could keep the money from ads to keep the service running. You could have it where you could pay to watch 1 team each season or get access to every team.
I watched a yt video where someone did the math and it was like over $600 a year to watch every game of 1 team and over $800 to watch every single mlb game
Most Underrated Cardinal of 2024......Ivan Herrera..............seemed like ppl. FORGOT about him for a while!!!! And come mid- to early-Sept. seemed like Pages was starting like 90% of the time and were seeing like a .100 pts. difference in Average.....FINALLY the last 2 - 3 weeks, it's like the team woke up and used his Bat a Lot more! Last few months he hit something like .325 w/ a .960 OPS. For a team that needed Offense SO BADLY, they SHOULD HAVE been using him MORE!!!!
How much Payroll are they cutting? I mean, Goldy, Lynn, Gibson, Middleton, trade Matz ... That alone next year is like 65 mil. You could basically have the same team you have this year with a lower floor but also a higher ceiling w just internal replacements.
I was fine with reduced payroll even before the tv situation. A lot of fat needed to be trimmed off the team regardless. Of all the players they spent big on only 2 were good in Gray and Contreras.
I was a business professor and also a lawyer for a number of years. DeWhit is getting terrible advice or listening to his own family or both. He is doing almost everything wrong. However, as a lifelong Cardinal fan, Ifear any change in ownership as Nashville and a lot of other cities are alluring destinations for a wealthy owner. I would hope that a historic team like STL would be blocked but baseball is infamous for letting teams do whatever they want.
I know the messaging to the fan base has been horrible and he has let the minor league system fall behind some. What else has he done wrong in your opinion?
Winn had a great year, Contreras was as advertised until JD broke his arm. Burrelson had a very good year, Scott and Seine showed promise as did the catchers, but every other position player was average to brutal. Overall the bullpen was excellent to very good, but the starters were average to Mikolas bad. At least we may of found one young starter. The coaching staff has no business being in the major leagues, but that's solely on Dewitt and Mo.
I loved Lance and would be happy to see him return if he were 💯and on a team friendly contract. I want Walker to succeed as well. However just don’t see it. Guy looks way too stiff and slow to react to pitches. Sure Heba big guy, but he needs to prove to me that he’s actually a baseball player.
Sorry Andrew & Sandy, don't agree w/ Pallante as Best SP AT ALL!!!! Heck, I'd argue no better than 3RD of the 5 who were in the rotation near the end of the season....heck, arguably 4th if you include McGreevy - only better than Gibson & Mikolas....about the same as Lynn. Pallante's BB-Rate - STILL BAD!!!!
couldn't say Winn due to some occasional prolonged Slumps (i.e., 4 for 44 in early to mid- Sept.) and Late in the Year his K-Rate increased dramatically.
Aug. 24th - end of season: for Pallante? Take away his 2 best starts among his final 6? and this is what he put together in the other 4.....(0-2), 16 SO's, 20.2 IP, 26 H's, 14 R's, 13 ER's, 12 BB's, for a 5.66 ERA, 1.84 WHIP..............the 2 Good Starts among those 6? against the AWFUL Pirates at Home and against the Guardians in one of their last gms. of the Season in which they didn't have anything to play for.
Honestly, Mozo. Who gives a extension to a coach for last place? Now he gives Girsh a undescriptive job for failure.....Then acts arrogant about it? Imagine if Edward Smith ( Capt.of the Titanic) had lived? You think he would have been given another ship to sink?
You do realize that Smith was a scapegoat, as was Admiral Kimmel.. The problems with the Cardinals are on the Dewitt's and MOZELIAK. ( I can actually spell his name) Anyone else below them including the fans, are victims of FO incompetence.
Need to know what make anyone think MO will add any offense to this sad sack lineup? He didn't for 24 and this is another reason he does NOT need to be back. Pathetic
