I feel like in this SF6 bus scenario, Luke is the guy everyone else keeps trying to subtly leave behind, but every time we think we lost him, he's already found his way back onto the bus
I love how everyone just gets left behind at the bus stop. And then there's Necalli who got locked in the bathroom, Fang who never makes it to the bus, and then Kolin, Ed, and Falke who get shot on sight.
I loved Adon ever since his SF4 ending, where he's watching Sagat, and being all "Hah! I'm so much better than him now! haha!" And Sagat doesn't even know he's there and wouldn't give a shit if he did, 'cause he's moved on with his life and isn't obsessed with fighting any more. And I found that hilarious. He's a joke of a villain.
I think Kolin has potential for growth (or even a fire version for her in SF6 instead of ice) Hoping Twelve gets justice and becomes Thirteen Makoto def. needs to come back
As a Necro main, I was dredding the Third Strike part, after what Max said last video. But I'm glad Max shares the same opinion that the whole cast either deserves a slot or doesn't deserve the axe. Also I'd LOVE to see hyper realistic stretchy mime tazer fight along side his Harley Quinn esque Goth GF.
Ken has like an army of Capcom bodyguards and executives and probably most of the development team on that bus. You'd be lucky to even peel one of the bananas on his head.
You're thinking too small, let them have Ken but make him completely bald. The only thing that can be worse than the banana hair is no hair at all, make them suffer if they leave Gen behind
I honestly dig Adon because he’s the “fallen apprentice” of one of the major SF characters. If he doesn’t show up again it’d be pretty neat to see Sagat with another legacy character that represents how great Adon could’ve been if he chilled out and wasn’t a sadistic prick
If Adon comes back, they should give him a new character development. Maybe make him realize that Sagat went easy on him, so he wants a rematch and then get beaten up badly. He can be cocky and spiteful but also a bit more mature.
@@rekkazan Yeah, like what if he’s still a cocky asshole but he’s still pondering why Sagat became so mellow and left his merciless side behind and that one question could add depth to him maybe.
You reminded me of Max's previous discussion of Luke being Ryu's protégé, and Sean coming back as Ken's. Adon would make a good third example as Sagat's.
I wanna see the bus scenario animated, how each character gets left behind. Especially seeing Abel in the corner just being the milk ice cream, Wonder bread neutral character. Imagining the absurd way Adon gets yeeted off the bus is just hilarious
Ryu and ken at the end feel like they forgot something but say its probably not important, then they cut to fang and necalli and all the other bottom tier characters waiting at the bus stop 🤣
@@tengudwn57 No words. Just looking at each other, nodding in sync. Dhalsim stretches his arm to open the window behind Adon before Dudley shoulder checks him out the window as they hit a bump.
I would love to give Gen another chance, I loved playing him in 4 and I really like his lore, having been one of the only other people to survive the raging demon. Assassin turned compassionate old man teaching kung fu to others due to leukemia is a badass backstory.
Your take on removing the Joker-esque element of Adon is actually an interesting idea. Maybe after getting more and more experience in the fighting world, he begins to lose that bravado he had in his youth and, if not mellow out, at least begin to get more serious, sorta like what they did with Alex throughout Street Fighter 3.
Wasn't Sagat feeling the satsui no hado in his last story beat? Maybe seeing his old master in such a state could spur some personal development in Adon.
Sean carrying on Oro's fight style art would be nice; since Oro was last located in Brazil, from a third strike perspective and would be better Sean to harness his skills and add it to his Metsuda family roots fight style, as well as continue Oro's fight style legacy; it would be like Ryu and Akuma's Satsu No Hado arts scenario, but in a alternate world and not corrupt like arts; Sean is already cocky, so him learning a fight style that involves, using only one hand and arm behind his back, after mastery, would be nice; he then can revist Ken, his previous tutor and show him his new skills he got introduced to by a Hermit(Oro); Sean would be OP in SF6.
I think if people really want Sean, they should at least be okay with Laura. Their little sibling interaction in the SFV story is kind of nice and could lead to some more character development for both of them if they're in the same game together. Laura always sees him as a little brother no matter how strong he gets or maybe have a situation where Sean gets more serious if he has to protect Laura from a dangerous threat.
@@micah459 Not saying you have to like her. Just that since she's Sean's sister she's should most likely be around if he is. I feel like a good chunk of people like one of the yun and yang twins and not the other. But, everyone agrees they should ALWAYS be together. Even with Akira they still brought Daigo into the game along with her, even if they couldn't make him his own character.
@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat It’s insane that Adon is Sagat’s rival and I love that they kinda are despite being in a whole seperate weight class for muay that. It’s really cool
I didn't play much SFIV but the bit that I played as El Fuerte was really fun. It sucks that the Ramon/El Fuerte archetype is usually really annoying to play against so most people who don't main them hate them.
Now hear me out: Give Rufus' fighting style and moveset to his girlfriend Candy and make her the new character who can call Rufus during her supers. I actually enjoy his weird kung-fu movie moves and even his antics, and I think it'd be really funny if he had like a fucked up knee or something and couldn't join the tournament, so Candy offers to take his spot and just so happens to also be a fighting prodigy who can copy moves that she's seen on TV. That way we wouldn't have to deal with his terrible character design and give his playstyle to a cooler, ditzy waifu. Win-win situation lmao
@@mbphilipblack8993 Abel was bland. With Luke being the series' new MMA inspired character & being positioned by Capcom themselves as a future big character for the franchise moving forward, I would not be surprised if we don't see Abel in another SF game for a very very long time.
@@DragonHeart613 Okay I get what you're saying, but the fact he doesn't know his past there's so much to work with and the connection to Seth and Guile is very interesting. He could also play a role in Luke's story as an older fighter potentially motivating him seeing himself in Luke adding to Ryus and Guiles mentorship.
@@DragonHeart613 Yeah I get what you're saying unfortunately he's been replaced with Luke but he was in SF5 in some story elements at best he'll be DLC nowhere near base roster.
Adon is sick. Street Fighter needs more characters who just want to be great and beat you up. No magic, demons, or goofy shenanigans. Adon just wants to beat that azz and show Sagat he’s washed. He’s the most FGC character next to Yun.
I really want Makoto. Seeing her in the RE engine would be sick along with her combos now with the drive rush, etc. ;-; I want alex as well. Think of the hype combos and mix up with his grabs and mind games
I would like to see Twelve come back in some evolved super-predator boss form. I feel the realistic style would compliment a creepy monster character like that.
there's a thing about ed, falke, and those other characters, including laura. it feels like those characters are being set up for more in VI. i'm expecting them to have much improved movesets in the same way that i expect luke to be pretty different in VI, because a lot of these characters are in their "alpha" phase.
@michaelkeha Easy, you don't. Just recently, there was a major event called Ahnnilator Cup. It was a battle royale among famous streamers and e-sports pros across several competitive games. The fg game chosen was SF5. Many of them paid for SF legends like Tokido and Infiltration to train them for a week. The veridict? SF5's execution is hard af. An Apex pro by the name of Noko said it was the hardest game he had played in his life. Dude literally called SF5 players gods. SF6 can't risk losing its core audience by getting rid of motion inputs, but what it can do is have a begginer character with no execution barrier aka Ed. Plus the guy is blonde, so it's a done deal 😉.
@@mappybc6097 All fighting games are hard to them since they don't play them. For people that do, SFV execution is pathetically easy in and out of its series.
I can't believe people still say "But they can't come back they're dead" in regards to fighting games. Literally every major fighter has brought back a "dead" character at this point except maybe (as far as I know anyway) Guilty Gear. Charlie was ON SCREEN when that was brought up here
@@Wilkins325 I get that. Max generally doesn't buy this line of thinking though and having watched this stream he definitely was being sarcastic here. It even came up a seperate time and he just outright said he was being sarcastic
The thing is when you kill a character, people don't expect them to come back unless hints are left for their return, and usually if a character DOES die the story now has to explain how they were brought back or that they were never ACTUALLY dead to begin with. Plus, on top of all that, if a character is killed and seen as important enough to bring back, then they should have some important reason to be there or it raises the question of why revive them to begin with instead of making a new character? There's a reason most fighting games don't kill characters often. Nash is a good example, at least imo, of a character being brought back done right. Charlie was brought back by the illuminati, with what seems to be the same tech used to make Twelve, and his return served to show even more of what kind of stuff the illuminati is capable of. Plus, SFV was supposed to show the end of Shadoloo, so bringing Charlie back for one last shot at Bison as well as to give some closure for Guile works narratively. After that? He stays dead (At least I'm hoping otherwise, again, why kill him the second time?) as now, his story is essentially over. While I can understand people's problems with this logic, as they still want to play the characters they like, it also leads to a situation where either no one is allowed to really die, aside from the villain of the game (which works for most fighting games to my knowledge since many of them don't even have canon endings for characters till the next game), or leads to dragonball syndrome where death and revival happen so often that a character dying means nothing so you may as well not kill them at all. Now while the former is fine and works for most games, it also means we don't often get stories like Guile and Charlie's. So when we do get stories like that, it should actually mean something. Tl;Dr Fighting games don't tend to kill characters often, at least not in canon endings, but when they do, I feel they should have SOME sense of permanence to them otherwise it defeats the point of killing them to begin with and makes death mean nothing in the story
Ed should 100% come back imo. Give him actual motion inputs. Expand upon his character. Make Neo Shadoloo something awesome. There's so much room to work with when it comes to Ed
I remember someone made a idea for a revamped Ed,to make him like a geese Howard type charecter... which honestly works...like a perfect mix between Balrog and Bison
I don't think they should give him motions. Except for an option qcf p for his flicker. But I think characters that are easy to use for controller players should be pushed more. Not for every character but there should be some simple to use characters. Maybe like 5.
I really did like F.A.N.G, but I could see him not being added to 6. But they did tease the fact he took up a student to train, so we might just see them instead.
Yeah I don't understand the F.A.N.G. hate. I guess it's just because he's kind of silly? but he's well designed, unique gimick, interesting animations and play style.
Idk I really enjoyed Kolin. I love the ice powers and the uniqueness of her gameplay it afforded. I also love her design and fighting style. Reminds me of like a Metal Gear character or something.
I liked her too, props to them fully fleshing her out from just being a part of Gill's intros intro a tragic survivor of war turned zealot who you gotta feel for. Also, it's cool to see SF finally go all in on an ice character.
For me the only thing I really hate is all the sounds he constantly makes... it's a bit much and if they toned it down a bit I think it would be less annoying.
I’d rather have G again than Q tbh but that’s just me. I thought G was so fun to play whereas I just could never get the hang of playing as Q. He’s got such an awkward style I just can’t be good with a character like that
Max clearly just doesn't like weird/goofy characters unless they're an explicit joke character. Hence why he doesn't like Blanka, Adon, FANG, Abigail, Rufus, Fuerte ect.
Out of all these, Rufus and Adon are the only ones I can get. Rufus is kinda just there (and is also said to be somewhat insulting as a fat character rep) and Adon's kinda meh. The rest are either fine or F.A.N.G. who should genuinely be kept in the franchise going forward and expand him even more
Dan was a joke character but oddly enough everyone seems to like him now. I didn't like Abigail initially but he looks great in the DamnD costume, in fact he looks much better in just about every other costume. I also found the damage he did at launch was absolute bullshit, but thankfully that's been toned down.
@@karnovrpg dan had more than enough time (and time in the spotlight) to build a fan following though Him being legit good for once in his career was a big moment too
After seeing the absolute glow-up Dee Jay received with his looks, moveset, and just overall vibe, I have full confidence that they could take El Fuerte and turn him into someone truly worth being part of the roster
Kolin, Ed and Falke were clearly set up for the next part of the story, yah i agree that their introduction was pretty uninteresting but im pretty sure they are coming back. I do think they have a lot of potential if done right
@@adamfrancescutti7615 yah, i felt like her character was incomplete, hope they give her a grand goal or something so her character becomes interesting
Kolin basically has to come back. We already know what she does in the future. If technically she doesn’t have to come back as playable but if Gill returns she’ll be there.
@@KirbyOnCronic i mean they brought her back to set up the future timeline so they must care a little at least. they coulda used her slot for another new character instead otherwise
3:20 I actually want Laura to come back to Street Fighter 6! I like to see her and Sean as playable characters and interact more just like they did briefly in Street Fighter 5.
This is way funnier than a "who comes back" but its also a lot sadder. What if they get in and people love them, what if YOU love them, what if they become amazing. I think letting people have their fun is better.
I miss DeeJay greatly as he's the Jamaican Fighter and we haven't had one since yes he's a bit "goofy" but his move set with the kickboxing fused with karata with the hint of breakdancing i'd say is unique and representative and he's fun to play as there's a lot they could do with him so sad to see a character overlooked/underrated the same with Elena, Abel, Fei Long, Makoto and C.Viper even Remy.
I could see a great story to introduce him. Since Rufus watches a lot of martial art movies and built his fighting style from them. What if King Cobra's an American action movie star that Rufus based it on? It could lead to a slight variation of the style, but from a master user of it. And also lead to a rivalry between King Cobra and Fei Long, such as for best Kung Fu actor in the world.
2:34 no you're wrong FANG is the best hope for a good vilain in sf6, he is not a god that no one understands, he is not M "Lame" Bison, he is a man that will burn the world to bring psyco power to a ruling position FANG MELTS people when they get in his way, what does gill do? talks? my hope for the final boss in sf6 is for FANG to be possed by psyco power, be distorted by it (something like Faust in strive maybe), and summon a Bison stand as a cheap boss mechanic
Best hope for a villain? Come on man. His design is shitty, his personality, his gameplay is shitty, he's a shitty character, just accept it. There's a reason why there's an universal agreement that he shouldn't come back, just like Rufus and Necalli.
@@pichu4455 bro look at street fighter's vilain roster... Balrog could just rob banks, vega just wants to torment women, m bison wouldn't know what to do with the world if he ever go it, sagat is so bad at being a villain that he is now a hero I will admit that urien is cooler than fang, but I still think fang being puppeted by psycho power would be one of the most sinister bosses ever
@@fernandopires135 Or they could just create new villains, as they did with Aki, which Is way cooler than Fang by the way. I agree that Shadaloo members shouldn't come back as main villains tho. They already completed cycles.
Adon needs to come back. Actual Muay Thai fighter. El Fuerte should come back but matured from hanging out with T.Hawk. Those 2 no matter how much you dislike them are hype, fun, and bring an energy SF needs.
@Cristo Alba bro if you think Rashid of all people is forgettable then you simply have one of the most niche opinions in the entire community. Rashid is insanely popular and has been since he was revealed and at this point is SFV's golden child of new characters.
Gameplay wise Ed is one of my favorites SFV characters but jesus tyhey really need to just give him a re-design and a personality. Since he's got the whole boxing apprentice thing going on just have him get beat up by Dudley and have Dudley become his new teacher and have him become all prim and proper while expanding on the Psycho energy stuff
I HOPE they bring back Guy. I've always liked his character design and moves since alpha. Let's bring back the Alpha-Counter mechanic. It's soooooo good
@@lolroflomginternet Not really. They are similar but alpha counters are done specifically after blocking a move. You essentially spend bar to punish anything that hits your gaurd. V reversal I don't believe does that. It can't be activated during blockstun.
I don’t why but I want to see a bus scenario where Hakan gets on C. Viper’s nerves on the bus and she brutally electrocutes him, causing him to comically fall out the bus and hit the pavement and smash his skull and face
Even though Max axes some characters I like on this list, for the most part I agree that maybe these characters should not be high priority for future SF rosters
I just hope that SF6 has a bigger and more diverse base roster at launch than SFV had honestly. 16 characters wasn’t nearly enough especially considering the abundance of great and interesting characters this franchise has. I feel like 24-28 characters to start off would be perfect
I think this analysis and thoughts behind who should remain in their previous generations and who should come forward is awesome! Always neat to see your insight and I agree with most of those takes as well. World warriors are the heart of SF and belong there throughout the generations, while certain Alpha and Third Strike characters come forward as it makes sense for their lore, generation, and playstyle.
I’m not quite ready to forsake El Fuerte. But, I’d also be pretty disappointed if he didn’t evolve beyond his SF4 iteration. I’d love for him to have an actual connection to the SF6 storyline or at least a solid rivalry with an established character… 🤔
The fact that we didn’t get Akira until Season 5 doesn’t paint a pretty picture for Rival Schools in SF6 for the first few seasons. Maybe later down the road.
Make El Fuerte a heel. Instead of a nice cook that just wants some super dynamic cooking time, he is now a cannibal who wants to devour his opponents. (Kayfabe only obviously.)
@@Pazuzu- eh, we already have ibuki as his successor, and i think the black girl teased at the end of the trailer is a ninja too. still, it would only take a few new traits to make him cool.
I would love Laura to come back. When SFV came out she was the only character I liked gameplay wise. I will say i'd like for them to reapproach her character. Bimbo characters are okay but Laura has literal air in her skull. Besides we need more female grapplers
I like Laura, i always felt they shoulda did the sultry older Woman voice for her instead of the bubbily goofy vibe she has. I like her gameplay and love her go dumb moments.
Also, fun fact, she’s the only Black newcomer we got since SFIV brought the franchise back. Maybe give her a new design, but I’d be down for Laura returning.
To be honest, I think the only way for SF to regain the attention of casuals is to use the Smash Ultimate/Tekken Tag Tournament strategy: They should bring back all the characters from the past games and make the ultimate Street Fighter game. At this point, this franchise will not last if they keep pushing regular players away and focusing only on the eSports aspect.
That’s what they did with SFIV after 3 lacked the World Warriors entirely. Plus Tag Tournament 2 wasn’t that successful, and 7 what was what put the series back on a upward trend. I think that will end up being the case, but personally I feel It would just feel redundant to have 2 games in the series be “this is the return of the OG’s”
I also like Ed and Falke's designs. I would have probably had Falke as a main if her projectiles weren't negative edge charge. If they get rid of negative edge, I don't mind them returning at all.
I would love to see F.A.N.G get a redesign from a goofy character to a more brooding/creepy and intimidating character, something like what Faust did between Xrd and Strive. Hell, give him the cyborg costume as his default look.
I like Adon :( I mean, I actually do like his play style quite a bit, and I do kind of like the crazy personality when it's combined with an aggressive style. I dunno, he just reminds me of Durga from Anarchy Reigns and I miss playing that character too. Now El Fuerte? Yeah. Hate that guy. A way more annoying El Blaze without the dumb charm. Just the dumb.
When Adon got up on the highway and dusted himself off, a truck got over enthusiastic to give him a hug and smacked him into further oncoming traffic lol
Is anyone more excited for new characters than anything? I know people feel wrong about Ed but him being adopted/watched over by Balrog is really cool. It makes me think that Chun Li’s adopted daughter and Ken’s son really can make it to SF6. And also side characters that actually became a part of the roster like Poison and Kolin can definitely happen with Effie from SF3. That would be really cool.
Decapre can be saved with a different moveset and design. That gender-flip mod for SF5 has Bison look like Decapre so do that. She inherits his moves for some story reason and stick with it.
If you are gonna make a new moveset and design then its better to just make a new character no? Is it really worth to bring back Decapre? She doesnt really bring or do anything to the franchise that Cammy and The other dolls already do.
Decapre's issue is that she's a clone of a character who has little to no fleshed out backstory to begin with. I would've rather her be a new Doll or one of the existing others instead of just making another Cammy with remixed Raven ideas from SFxT
I want Sodom to come back. Seeing the art style and paint splatters from the new trailers and everything, I think he'd be dope! Oh and Dudley! Need him back for sure!
Hugo, Rufus, Rolento, Decapre, El Fuerte, Hakan, Seth, Falke, Necalli, Fang, Necro, T. Hawk, Remy, and Ingrid, are characters I'd easily leave behind. Others that I think are meh but have cool redesign potential are Abel, Adon, C. Viper (yes I've never been a big fan of Viper sorry), and Kolin. Everyone else I either really want or I'm cool with
Nah man, Adon is really cool imo. I've loved his playstyle and moveset ever since Alpha 2. I always thought he was a cooler muay thai character than Sagat. Sagat is just a big slow turtle that throws fireballs while Adon actually moves and fights like a muay thai fighter.
I will never get why people hate F.A.N.G. He's such a fun character, I don't even play it, but everything that he does and says is just fun, people who doesn't like it, why, like, give me a good argument, he's desing is good, he's gameplay is good, the story is only consistent when he is on it, why?
I think Fang just looks too weird. There’s definitely some goofy character designs in SF but Fang is just weird in a way that doesn’t really fit with the rest of the cast, it’s hard to explain. Also his gameplay style I think is pretty niche so not that many people are going to be interested in him on gameplay alone.
@@spectr4736 Ok, weird, why is "weird" something bad, SF is full of weirdos since Street Fighter 2, and ever since, they always have a weird looking guy, sometimes not even human beings (Urien, Gill, Eleven, Twelve, Q, Seth) so yeah, he looks weird, but he's one of the most normal characters in the game series, is just a tall guy with venom hands xdd Also, what do you mean by "doesn't fit with the rest of the cast" in a series where we have: biogenetic gods, genetically altered super humans, demons, clone childrens, robots, psychic and soul masters or beings, a zombie, ancient beings/gods, shapeshifting weapons, etc.?
