@@debramoore7513 Aww Debra, it's ok, it's been 4 years now and though I miss him like hell, Freddie keeps him alive for me. For sure we'll take him, we'll pick him up from 16 years ago, before he got sick, he'd LOVE it, he was so silly and fun.
Oh Joanne, I'm so sorry about the loss of your husband💔 He and Freddie are in good company together, until the time comes when you will get to see him again🙏
This song makes me cry, because it was the epic song of Freddie's last tour, of course we didn't know at the time. But looking back, watching Freddie sing it knowing now that he only had a few short years left. So sad. Great reaction.
I've been listening to this song for coming up to 40 years it'll be soon, and it's made me cry every time. It always makes me think of McCleod having to outlive everyone he loves particularly yes her in the movie and then since Freddie died it's had another meaning and another life over time for everyone I've lost. Powerful, impressive, and for a song to evoke such song emotions, many of them mixed emotions all at once, just through instrumentation and a genius set of minds, it's one of the most powerful pieces I've ever known. First heard it as a small child when it first came out and it even just got me right here at such a young age. And helps one learn about life too I personally believe. Love it. So yes I agree with you and understand exactly how you feel about it
RIP FREDDIE & SEAN CONNERY 😩😩😩 My mom was a huge Sean Connery fan & loved Queen. So this movie was a double whammy for my mom!! She passed away in 2018 of Alzheimer’s!! Who wants live forever? 🥰🥰 I cry every time!
I don’t think I’ve ever known that about your mom (that I recall). 😢 My dad also passed away from Alzheimer’s - such a devastating disease! Hugs, friend 🙌🏼🙏🏻
This song always makes me cry. It's hard to sing it, because of that. Something deep, about what makes life precious...and the sorrow, and tangible grief of a voice of one who knocks on the door of immortality...but knows the fading, intimately. Freddie knew, his days were growing shorter. His perspective is reflected perfectly, in this song.
This song has such impact on it's own, but in the context of the movie... it is gut wrenching. People often don't understand the lyrics "Who wants to love forever... when love must die" until they watch it.
Such a powerful song and one of my favorites. Always brings a tear. Freddie has a powerful live performance at Wembley 1986. Enjoyed your3 part series of Queen Highlander series. P,ease continue to react to Queen. Suggest White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon 1975, Stone Cold Crazy live at the Rainbow 1974 and Under Pressure live at Wembley 1986.
HELL yes, this and The Show Must Go On also by Queen. I cry everytime I hear them. Only one other song can have the power to do that to me& that is Still Loving You by The Scorpions(check it out too guys). Niagara Falls!!
I did make me well up. I also understand that it made Seal cry. Seal said that he had always wanted to sing the song after hearing it first on the film but when he tried to sing it unfortunately he just couldn't reach the heights of Freddie Mercury in terms of some of the notes. So they had to make some subtle changes.
What a vocal delivery. Absolutely stunning. And in contrast to Brian's very pure, almost choirboy sounding vocal which created a wonderful build up to Freddie's. In the film it was Freddie who sang the beginning as well. Just beautiful.
you should look at Adam Lambert singing it at the isle of wight festival in 2o16. Brian May said he had never heard it sung like Adam sang it. Its heartbreaking.
This song makes me think of my brother Lee who died in 2017 from stage 4 cancer it came out of nowhere and killed him I remember his journey his fight this song reminds me of that I miss you Lee in heaven no one lives forever.
You guys should see Freddie sing this LIVE at Wembley 1986! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 (If you thought this version was sad... Freddie's singing is so INTENSE, it leaves you speechless.)
I love the highlander film being British and having Scottish heritage bur I also love Queen what a band and what a voice Brian may and freddie Mercury as
Not a dry eye in the movie theater I went to. The feels of if you lose love what's the point of living forever. Every time I hear it, it makes me cry like a newborn. The film is better reaction video to watch because of the story. Lovely Heather and her beautiful faithful man. She was his one love.
Just think Freddie originally never wanted to be do the highlander sound track Rodger and Brian really had to convince him my favourite is prince's of the universe
Not only is the song great in the movie The Highlander but also even more sad is that Freddie Mercury got AIDS before live aid in 1985, this song was written in 1986, it was even more painful for him to sing it because he knew he was going to die from the disease.
