U.P ride September 2019 was a blast! Awesome trail system up there. All footage was in the Gwinn, Little Lake, and KI Sawyer area. Rzr 900s, Rzr Highlifter, Pioneer 700, and Wolverine X4 are the machines on this ride. The footage doesn't do the hill justice, but it was steep! Thank you for watching!! Yes probably my favorite place to ride, no population, the whole state is a trail system, and I have free room and board since my sister and brother in law live up there! Doesn’t get much better then that

Back n the day we all rode dirt bikes were took skill balance and BALLS to ride that stuff not any more

Definitely not being rude, but if the wolverine still had the larger guy in the back right passenger seat that could be the difference, that's quite a load plus the other passengers to be going up that hill climb,. Maybe he was already out but I couldn't see, but if he already lost momentum by that time he would have to restart the hill climb

Yea your exactly right.. we did try it with just Travis driving and couldn’t do it either… then the following year we went back to the same hill with Trav having different clutching and a Weller tune and made it about 30 ft further but still no dice

i have an X4 and have had 2 RzR. With some real tires the X4 out preforms the RzR's I had.

He's running 28'' Kenda Executioners right now, but he is always talking about switching and trying different tires based on terrain we will be riding. He is also talking a lot about a Weller Racing ECU tune. I think he will be pulling the trigger right after hunting season is over here in Wisco.

@@grizzlygreg8922 need to do a sheave 1st. Get the clutching right with 18g weights if hes gonna run 28" tires.

It wasnt a tire problem it was all performance, the ecu doesn't allow me to hit the hill with enough speed in low. And in high it is just to long and steep it just bogs out.

So grizzly gregg, first of all, how would you compare wolverine relibility to polaris ranger and can am defender? Is it better? About the same? Or worse? Which will last longer with less mentainence? Razor for me is too much of a sport utility like the yxz and Its something that i dont plan to get at the moment. Heard that yamaha gonna drop the 1000cc wolverine rmax this year so just making sure

General Rule: the more performance you buy the more fixing/maintenance you will have too do. Wolverine is a excellent choice all around for overall trail riding! And it’s reliable. I only bought a Highlifter cause I go for every water/mud hole I run across lol.... and yes Yamaha is dropping the 1000 R Max on September 3rd I believe, depending on price tag, could be a game changer for me!

'His is an 850, mine's a 900, how does it make that much of a difference?' At least 400 lbs extra weight on the Wolverine X4. Soft sand is the X2/X4's weak point.........it's not a YXZ1000, which is more of a competitor to the RZR. The X2/X4 is geared for torque\bottom end, not high HP wheel speed. Duplicate the same incline with a rocky base and it would have been fine, even with stock clutching.

We discussed all that off of camera. I agree with everything you said. He hasn't done any clutching yet but he wants too.I might be in a future video during the winter months.

About 70% of what I ride is soft sugar sand. I'm using 28x10 blackwater evo's on stock wheels with lighter primary roller weights. Still havent been stuck yet, in anything. And when I ride with my buddies who have big lifted units, mine plays recovery vehicle

I'm just thankful to have riding buddies period. He had to get rid of his rzr for a 4 seater to bring the kidos and he choose the X4 because we have a lot of tighter trails we ride. He has winched out me a number of times already also lol.

Rzr is a sport that means speed plus your tires are highly aggressive mudd type his are basic dirt tires swap the tires it’d be a different story but great video.

Yea I hear ya, he has done a bunch more mods to the Wolverine also, we want to go back in the spring to the same hill and try it again

We are in Northeast WI, but this video is from U.P of Michigan right next to the old k.i Sawyer Air Force base. Trail system is awesome up there!!!!
