I believe in my boy Book at TGU for two reasons: 1. Home country advantage 2. Saturated points, but he has shown that he can win a big tournament [even winning the Leroy Japan one] Of course, the other major question is going to be how many of the already qualified players are going to gatekeep, or if a lot of them actually skip the event to save on costs/energy. If the latter, some of the hypothetical top 3 finishes mentioned in the vid might actually be feasible.
The format is so complicated. I know there are time constraints but the real kicker for me is that so many people working so hard to qualify into the loser side of the bracket. If finals day was everyone in winner's side only. Or like the red bull single elim format where its ft2 ft3 ft5 or something even that would be better IMO

@@doogies Punishment 3 in Bolivia where leemishima got 1st, there were a few international players there (shadow, qudans, fear, kingreyjr etc) but far less than any other master tournament in the tour. It's def a step up from last year when no one outside south america went there, but i imagine if Farzeen was there this year he could have secured at leas a few points.

I believe the intention is to make it so players aren't penalized as much if they can't make it to every tournament. For example, they'd rather someone qualify by getting 2nd and 5th in 2 tournaments instead of getting 7th in 5 tournaments or something like that. That way as long as you can make it out to the saturated number of tournaments, you have a fair shot, any additional tournaments are basically extra chances to place better instead of a straight up advantage against players that couldn't make it.
Thank you, this breakdown really made it more clear. Personally i think regional should be given to the top person from the region and not just strictly dojos but thats just me. As far as NA, Shadow has to really hope that the people above him bar leemishima and farzeen make the top 8 if not himself.
This just makes the low turnout of the Master's event in Bolivia, Punishment 3, that much more puzzling. It was pretty much just the Americans and Qudans who travelled outside of South America.
@@doogies This is essentially their job. I could understand if the problem is visa but it just seems like every top player outside of a few ignored it. If I were to guess why Bamco made a torunament in Bolivia a Master event, it's to attract other players to a smaller region and promote growth. If that were the case, then it failed.
