Can't tell you how much I enjoyed this comradery and competition - lots of character shining forth from two stand up guys. And Kai, you looked like a responsible Dad out there. Just the right level of fun and adventure for a father of Twins - twin girls, who will need you all their lives.

I don't think I've ever seen hookipa looking that fun and inviting. All footage I've seen is like 50mph side/offshore winds

I like the way you round out your turns Kai. Progressivly maintaining speed outof every turn and maimtaining speed. Thats surfing to me. Speed flow and style.

Kai looks much better here than he did in that last contest video he put out. Here he looks like he slowed it down and is gliding through smooth mythodical turns whereas before he was way too fast, and his turns were quick waist snaps where just the board snaps and his body didn't flow with it. Definitely looking better. But needs more practice. Mimic Mick Fanning on the face of the wave with the bottom turns and flow then mimic Andy Irons and Kelly Slater with the rawness and crowd pleasing hoos and awes, and finally, land airs regularly like a Gabriel Medina or Filepe Toledo and you will find yourself a multi- world champion -- haha. Sounds easy enough.

I heard Laird Hamilton in an interview once say that if Hookipa was on the North Shore it wouldn’t even have a name.
