I went with Sennheiser for my bass years ago because it was the only one that didn't change the tone coming from my bass. All others lost some bottom end and caused me to compensate from my head. Which of course I had to change back and forth when I went wired.
I had an early sennheiser digital guitar wireless probably 10-15 years ago. Always worked well, but I'd go thru two 9V batteries per night. I'm glad they have come as far as they have.
Hello! If may I add something to the RF discussion here, digital doesn't allow you to "just go", like analogue doesn't either. RF rules haven't changed, carrier does eventually, but that's a totally different story. To be clear: the only thing digital transmission can do that analogue can't is encryption. The rest it's just a matter of different technology. Keep up the great work with this channel! Regards. Leslie
but what about the improved 134db range? doesnt it improve the 60-18khz to a 40-20khz signal range? i was about to switch my whole system just because of this feature
@@IagoVital I'm talking about the RF side, not the audio part. Input stage and dynamic range are a different story and there's discussion margin for sure there.
When I hear it needs an app to function, I think “how long until the app won’t work on my new whiz bang phone?” Kind of like consumer electronics that don’t have buttons so if you loose the remote, it’s worthless. But yeah it looks awesome and I think the planned obsolescence would be a negligible side effect for professional artists. Besides, it’s fun to buy new stuff!
Hey there! Juste a quick question If I have multiple guitars, and I want each one of them to have its own transmitter, is that possible with only one EW unit? I bought two transmitters for my two guitars, but I am unable to make both of them work wirelessly on the same system. Thanks a lot!
So i have the EWD...but it kills my Shure IEMs...I dont know how to get them to not cross talk, I have scanned and rescanned my IEM Shures a dozen times and they just dont work together...any suggestions??
Also, your router isn’t throwing it into fits because the router is in the GhZ range (as is line 6 and others) while this although its digital (in its conversion) it appears its transmitting over traditional wireless ranges (500-600 MhZ or so). Does the unit somehow defeat the issues associated with those bands (which have existed for decades now)?
What you say about the gain staging not longer being necessary is not true. I have just received one of these units and I have a hard time getting this to match my cable output /unity gain (gain 27dB/AF out 18dB is one possible combination, see the manual). Increasing the AF out increases the noise floor plus I still get clipping warnings all the time even with vintage humbuckers. I think it also sounds notably different than using a cable. Anybody have the same experience???
Looking to go wireless myself and just cannot decide wether to go for the classic analog G4 or this EWD. I play bass on medium to maybe just a few larger stages on festivals (nothing too large, though). Having just 10mW of transmitting power, can it handle a fair amount of distance? And is that 1.9ms latency something that you can actually feel in a live playing setting? I'm definitely going with Sennheiser, just don't know which one to pick...
@@VladCotrus Went with the EWD and no regrets so far. It can handle anything in terms of venue size, both large festival stages and indoor venues. Never had a dropout or an interference with other systems.
Great video! I noticed at 3:30 the link light goes from green to orange. Same thing happens to me and I'm wondering if I should lower the output of my transmitter to keep the light in the green at all times. Anyone know if it's OK to have that light go into the orange?
Have u seen what many cellphone batteries do after a cpl years??? My wireless unit is about 30years old 😂 I’d like to see a cellphone battery last that long. Those batteries are known for swelling and exploding. No thanks
@@jesushair2784 lets be honest. Technology has come way too far to have to rely on the coppertop for a power source. Ive never had any battery swell and explode. But it could happen but your AA could also leak inside your transmitter.. Nothing is 100% free from corrosion..
Am I the only one who is disappointed of removed RJ45/Ethernet? :/ I would like to use that app over the network on a huge distance (like >300m over our fiber network on events). It's not a huge deal but you know.. locking mute or so is very handy.
