I grew up in the 50's & 60's. My dad was just starting his appliance repair business. We didn't have much. Soda was 10 cents & a bag of chips was 5 cents. My mother never brought soda or chips with her groceries. I remember she bought luncheon meat & hoagie rolls on Sat & that was a treat for us. Not sure if my mom & dad got a hoagie...I bet it's a no. They are both gone or I'd ask. I know things were touch & go. But we were happy & didn't know any better. Good times❤❤❤❤❤

Jessi, I too have to say Thank you for being transparent! So many "social media" influencers are not and it helps to realize that you are a "real" person that has struggles just like everyone else. It helps you to be more relatable to your viewers. I grew up with not a lot of money either but we had what we needed. I think that helped a bunch because when my husband joined the military he was making next to nothing. lol We had kids right away (I was 6 mos pregnant when we married) so we had to learn fast how to make ends meet. It definitely makes you more appreciative of what you have. Thank you for being real and keep being you!!

Thank you for not insisting we need an all white "aesthetic" home. Really the average person doesn't have that kind of home, yeah we have mis-matched pillow cases like you mentioned. I appreciate you discussing this! I found myself unhappy in my space because it didn't look like the influencers on Instagram. Thank you for humbling me and showing me that this is normal and it's okay to express yourself in your home through decor, furniture, organization etc.

I couldn’t relate to you more! I was putting myself down, striving so hard to keep up with other mommas. I thought what’s wrong with me, why can’t I do this picture perfect like they are!?! Then one day my kids looked at me randomly at different times and told me I was the best mommy ever, that they thank God for me. 😢. If that doesn’t prioritize your life I don’t know what will. I’m a wife, work, homeschool my 2 kids, highly active in church and countless sports/activities. So I do what works for our family and it’s made a tremendous difference! Love your channel ❤

I remember when I married my husband, I was 21 and he was in the Air Force. E-4. Times were hard back then! I feel you! I worked as well. We used to get a rotisserie chicken only if payday for him was on a Friday! He’s retired now. Thank you for your service! Yes, you too. You worked just as hard to maintain the home!❤

Because your babies are only little for a short time and there is plenty of time for you to do organizing and keeping the fridge differently etc.. Enjoy your babies while they are young. You have a beautiful home so don’t compare. Everyone is not the same. When son gets older let him play in his room. I used to suffer anxiety and depression but I got on medication and feel a lot better. You’re great, you have a baby and that comes with depression . I went to garage sales myself when my kids were little. Sometimes some things are not what they seem with people"

I have to tell you, please don't get bothered by these things. You are the only person I watch like this on fb and the reason I do is because you have what I don't...a beautiful home and the energy to clean it. I have MS and my fatigue is unimaginable. I watch your videos to get motivation to do even the simplest of things. You are doing great and your home and cleaning routine is perfect, in my opinion. ❤️

Our home is a fixer upper that we inherited from my husband’s grandfather. It’s not the prettiest home and sometimes it makes me feel down to see others homes on social media. I just have to remind myself to be grateful for what we have because so many don’t have a home. I also know how you feel looking back on your childhood memories and realizing that your family didn’t have a lot of money but the love and happiness made up for that. I was raised by a single mom until I was ten and then my mom met my stepdad. He stepped up for us and hasn’t stopped since. Now I am married and have a little girl and fur babies. My husband and I want to give her the best and teach her to appreciate what she does have but it is so hard in todays world.

I just stumbled on your video for the first time. I think your home is goregous and you talking about depression and anxiety in a positive but honest light is refreshing. I've recently have been feeling overwhelmed trying to keep up with stuff. Im juggling staying with my mom after she broke her hip. She is home after rehab. Trying to motivate and help care for her while juggling keeping everything stocked, clean, repaired or replaced and wanting to go back to school. Hi Jessi, I had to stop the video after you said how you're feeling about yourself. Stop, please don't think that way about you and your home. You are beautiful and you have a family living in your home. Be proud of that. You have a beautiful home and you're taking care of it all. Some of us look at your videos and wish we had a home like yours, because you are showing how to keep it beautiful. I became disabled and had to sell my home after I lost my husband at 41 with 2 children to bring up on my own. I was always cleaning (ocd lol) inside and out to keep it beautiful. Now I sit here alone in an apartment watching you take care of your family and home and your Husband is in the Service, Thank him very Much!! Jessi you are not lazy by any means. I have OCD and I feel like I could always do better. Organization is something I try to keep on top of. But if you have a husband and children, it's a losing better. That's ok we would be lost without them. The refrigerator may look beautiful and perfect but we only see it when the creators allow us to. We don't see it everyday. I would dare to say it's not that way constantly. We have so much on our plate daily. We do the best we can and that's enough. You have a beautiful home and you encourage me. I have gotten lots of ideas from you. I have used them in my home. Hey Jessica. I couldn’t agree with you more in this video. I also have stopped following channels I used to love watching because they made me feel down about myself. Things can become toxic and you have to protect your sanity/mental health. It’s okay to just be normal with a messy fridge and closet. I mean we are the normal people, those with the clear bins and organized closets are “the crazy people” 😂. I considered myself a traditional wife/mom with a twist. I am a full time working outside the home physician substitute/registered nurse who grew up kinda like how you mentioned in this video. Loved watching this today even though you filmed it awhile ago. Jessi i have felt the same about these influencers that seem to have it all together but the reality is just not there. I have raised 6 kids, have a dozen grandchildren. I work full-time outside the house and watch 3 grandkids after school. That they are looked after and loved is what makes the difference. I will tell you my kids who are in their thirty and forties don't remember if all the pillow cases matched or if the pantry was perfectly cleaned. They remember the time we spent doing things together and ice skating, swimming, dance, and sports lessons. Those are the things that stuck and really matter in life. 25:25 I am watching you while my grandkids are swimming. ❤

It's funny you mention wanting what others have or comparing ourselves to the next person or next mom, because I do that a lot with you! Your home is beautiful, your family isn't separated, you have all the home decor I would love to have, you have all the cleaning gadgets. It's sooo so easy for us to want what everyone else has, but we have to be very intentional with our gratitude and realize that it's not about materialistic stuff, it's about the experiences and our joy and happiness. I also grew up in a pre manufactured home but it was beautiful because my parents made it that was! My dad worked on the yard and it was amazing! My mom was not healthy so my dad worked 3 jobs! Nice surprise video!! I’m watching while doing some Christmas decorating. We were “regulars” at yard sales loved them growing up! I was a little girl in the 80’s we also used Green Stamps IYKYK, saved cans and also my parents grew nearly all the vegetables we ate. All that was normal back then. My dad worked for the Housing Authority and he would bring home lots of furniture and toys that we loved and some of that furniture my parents still have 20+ years later.

When my kids were small, we got most large gifts on Craigslist mostly for financial reasons, but I agree about the wastefulness.

But I agree with you that sometimes when I would watch certain influencers I would look at all this stuff they would buy or these crazy birthday parties for their children and I really thought to myself.
