You can put a couple of cotton balls with your own sciential oil mix so you know you are not harming your family’s health with chemicals, I’ll be definitely trying that since I want everything to smell pleasant and restful when I get home. Thank you for sharing!
It sounds wonderful! But I thought synthetic fragrances in commercial air fresheners are carcinogenic. I’ll love a natural alternative to this wonderful idea because I care for the health of my family more than having a wonderful scent in my home.
They are, since they are organic stable chemicals that stay in the body without any enzymes to break their benzene or similar polymer chains, hence they contribute to free radicals and high levels of tissue toxicity.
Use the cheaper green Air Filters..I used the ones that were 14.00 each..blocked all kind of stuff, it said on the package--.and yeah it blocks your air flow too, and I had to call repair!
So as the beeds shrink after while i refill the jar with the water and they regrow again. If we add laundry softener instead the water or 1/2 water 1/2 softener they will regrow again and smell even stronger
Luckily for me I have a AC outlet close to my return so I plug in my diffuser and put some lemon essential oil in it with water and the return sucks the lemon smell in and freshens the whole house.
Hi I know this video is four years old but this question would help me out a lot. You do have any issues with the plastic of the air fresher melting when you have the heat on?
If ur poor, u been doing this ur whole life. I did this since a kid and im 38 lol. I put it on the back of fans to freshen the room or house In the vent of my car, i will kinda fold it up and just stick it in the bottom of the vent so its stuck in there good, n it lasts only a few days at best. However, the real hack, is spraying them with cologne after the original scent of the sheet has dissipated. That is where you get super good scents, or ur fav smells. Ive also jsut sprayed, a little bit, of air freshener through the back of portable ac's and on the blads of a regular fan which will last a little bit to if u let it dry before you turn it on.
You might want to put a better quality air filter with a higher Merv rating at least an eight are use 11 to 13 and it is really good at capturing dust a lot of stuff also look at the odor illuminator one with activated carbon Still a pretty good little hat you got going though if it works for you it works
Our HVAC guy says NOT to use the more expensive filters. He said they make your unit work much harder when it’s pulling the air in because of those filters being much more dense. He said as long as you change the cheaper ones out in a timely manner they are much better for your HVAC unit. We always used the expensive “healthy” 😂 filters in the past but after he told us they were pretty much a waste of money and were harder on our unit we just started using the cheaper ones again. Anyway, just thought I’d throw that out there. As soon as the nice lady pulled her filter out of the closet I knew someone would remark on it. So I just thought I would try to not make her feel bad for using that particular filter. Who knows, maybe her HVAC guy told her the same thing as ours did. 😊
Can i put that one into the ceiling vent. I am renting from this witch landlord and some really bad smell coming through the vent. I think she spraying things i could hear every so often spray when i listen close to the vent and it smells really bad. Because of that I'm looking to move. I live in Canada its hella cold here..i have to close the vent because i just cannot stand the smell
My cat peed in my floor vent..idk why!!! But it's a bad odor in my bedroom and I can't get rid of it. I've poured pinsol in my vent..it's still lingers. It's getting cold, winter is coming..idk what to do.... please someone help!!
I’ve never lived anywhere that has this kind of set up. The filter barely fits in the slot assigned for it. No way could I fit something inside there. My filter also is located on the hvac unit not separate behind a vent somewhere
There is no where to sit those in my vent intake. Also if that happened to fall down in your unit it would ruin your complete unit cost a lot to fix it??
Also at Walmart they have the actual air fresheners that clip onto your filters. I bought one today curious to see how well they work. My unit has no place to put an entire container. Dryer sheets might also be a great idea.
@@michaelhinchey I live near the Gulf of Mexico and don't go to the beach because red tide usually makes it smell bad along with suntan lotion and cigarette smoke. Even when I can get away from those, the air doesn't seem that great to me.
Please research the ingredients of the products you're using to add fragrance to your house. They are toxic. To think that you and your family are exposed to a constant barrage of toxic chemicals is dis-heartening. In fact, my city neighborhood air is often overrun with these toxins from all the fragranced laundry products used by so many. Now, I'm moving to the country = ) Thanks for considering my comments.
If anyone is looking for brand suggestions, I found some gel beads by the brand Simple Truth (they are a natural/eco-friendly brand). It says it has no toxins on the label, and I looked at the ingredients and it doesn't seem like it has bad ingredients, but I don't know. Just a suggestion for anyone interested in more eco-friendly/healthy yet easy to set up/no DIY required air fresheners. It says they last 4 months but I can't promise that since I haven't tried them yet.
Agree. My daughter and I both have MCAS. The chemicals in these cause so many problems for us that we get major physical symptoms . I can’t even go near home good sections at stores now . We also can’t stay at most hotels because they pump scents through the air vents or spray fabreeze. We are sometimes sick for days after exposure . I wake up and feel like I have the flu !
your air filters are TERRIBLE quality.... they are barely filtering anything, which is causing your system to run much less efficiently because the inner working are probably coated in dust. if you've been using those awhile, you might consider hiring a duct work cleaner... you will be utterly shocked how much dust and dirt they pull out of your system.
I was genuinely enjoying this video. Your acute attention to detail strikes a positive nerve with me and then I come to see you using a $0.50 air filter. 👎😔
Rian Mattes I said “hmmm, 18 comments. This will be great”, then wouldn’t you know it I found it. Negative Nancy, there is always one trollin around somewhere smh
Cameron Deadmon I think it sounded negative, not sure she meant it that way. I’m curios why aren’t you using a Hepa filter, that keeps more odor and dirt from entering your house? Great tip. Thank you for sharing.
Our AC tech told us because our unit is older, and we have a dirt back yard- not to use anything other than these super cheap green filters. The nicer ones cause the system to strain, because they have trouble pulling air through. He said to use the cheapest one we can get and change it twice a month.
