Wow man! This was crazy! Love the cook though for reals, as we’ve said, we really want to do some lobster tails on the griddle! Great cook for the first time doing this - much love man, hope you and your family are staying safe! GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙
Thanks guys! It was different cook for sure. Have to really be mindful of temps and times or that sucker will be toast. Haha. Really enjoyed lately getting to know more about you guys. One day, we'll mingle.
As a lifelong New Englander, you nailed your first ever lobster -- and 100% on the griddle! That looks amazing -- you and the Griddle Guys are my go to channels on youtube, so cool you did this collab.
It is VERY nice to see a man of faith not afraid to say a prayer on a public forum....I watched a Christmas episode you did awhile back with your Brother and how patiently your Daughter waited for breakfast until the blessing was said... Good on you Brother. Merry Christmas to you and yours and God Bless. The Longs
Awesome job HH. For future (lobster) reference, I believe the “humane” way to take him out of his/her misery is to put it on ice in a cooler or something like that first. The cold from the ice will put the creature into a deep(almost comatose type) sleep. That way when you do cut him/her open there will be absolutely no pain for the creature.
The Griddle Guys weren't kidding when they said they were sending you a big lobstah 🤣 It was fun watching you cook lobster for the first time. You did great👍❣️
Been watching you for over a year. Best episode yet! My first blackstone is sitting in my garage in the box. Wife says I can’t use it until Christmas since it my present. Might have to try this for New Years! Peace and happiness to you and your family this Christmas.
Looked really delicious Matt. I think you did alright, I've never done a whole lobstah either I usually just buy the tails at the store. That fresh one had to be fantastic. Class act with the prayer and the censor bar. Have a great weekend brother.
I have prepared and eaten my fair share of seafood. This looks as good, if not better, than anything I’ve had! When preparing lobster, I use just enough heat to solidify the meat and give it a uniform texture. This is motivating me to definitely get around to slapping some of these bad rascals onto the griddle! Looking great, sir! Love and appreciation from Harnett county!
I think you handled that kill as well as anyone. The only thing, I might have refrigerated him for a time prior but, I think you did just fine. Respectful of a living thing that gave his life for your sustenance. Nice job.
I watched TGG’s cook what you sent and brother the North and South both did a great job. I really enjoyed both cooks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
For a first time cooking a lobster and one that big that was a great job. I've been cooking lobsters for fifty years, but I never cooked one on a griddle. I've boiled or steamed them and finished them on a grill, but you made it look easy on the Blackstone. And I liked what you sent the Griddle Guys too!
Awesome cook Hussy, as usual. That was very nice of you to say a prayer before cutting into that beast of a lobster. Well done I'm sure it tasted delish!! Cook on brother!!
I have spent most of maybe 20 of my 55 summers in Maine, so I have seen the lobster before. That was simply amazing. The box you sent the Griddle Guys I would have been too scared to open. Great job and you guys work great together.
This was a crazy cook. Dispatching a live lobster is no joke. That it tasted of the sea, was tender and succulent is testament that you did a fine job. Are there New Englanders that are saying holy crap what did you do? As far as this New England kid is concerned you did a fine job.
@@thehungryhussey dude I love both of your channels. Always good stuff. Word on the street is if you are comfortable splitting a lobster, cooking that over charcoal or live fire is righteous. I have not tried this, because I have never split a lobster. I bet your Kamado would do quick work. Haters are going to hate. And there is nothing worse than lobster roll debate to divide family friends or neighbors. Hot with drawn butter or cold salad, what type of bun, New England style grilled hot dog bun thank you very much. So don’t fret if some folks think your first cook was not up to some imaginary goal post.
Anybody can boil or steam a lobster (same ole, same ole). You have a great imagination for bringing flair to a dish and even better when you do it on a Blackstone. You are the griddle master!
Maggy: "Good Lawd Baby Jesus, Dad doesn't know whether to check his a$$ or scratch his watch on this cookout". "And that there lobster is pitching a Hussey fit with a tail on it". "Dang it boy, throw me some groceries!" Great job, that was a huge lobster!!
Just watched the farewell video. I was like what the.... But, I get it now. Congratulations on the new home. Great cook. Keep up the great work brother.
Hey Hussey this is Derek from Cape Cod Ma, you nailed it ! One suggestion next time don’t rotate the lobster cook open side of the shell facing up the entire time. Love your videos thank you.
Lobster inards are called “mustard”. Another great video Matthew. Some think the claws are the tastiest part of the lobster. A note: Florida lobsters do not have claws.
That was GREAT COOKIN!! Thanks I'll have the confidence to cook lobsters on my Black Stone too. By the way Larry was a fighter!! Took a while for him to stop kicking....
Awesome job Hussey. Larry was a good Lobstah and Great Job with he prayer!!! I wouldn't even know where to begin with cooking a lobster, all I've ever done was eat them...lol
I do not own a Blackstone Griddle but I can tell you I've been following now for some time and I see 1 coming next few weeks to add to collection of grills. Great job looked great.
You did a good job Hussey. I’m up north with the griddle guys and I’d definitely eat that haha thanks for the video. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and your family
Did good Hussy I just watched them cook what you sent them did not do to bad with it. I would eat with them. Keep up the videos. Merry Christmas 🎄 my friend.
Hussey, I’m from the Maine coast and you did a good job! I just hope you and the Griddle Guys keep doing this trade stuff. That could be a show in itself.
Hi, I come from Southwest Nova Scotia Canada and we fish and eat some of the best lobsters harvested in the world. We usually steam it in a pot of hot salted water for around 10 minutes. I have friends who bake the lobster in the oven so in many ways your technique is similar. BTW, there is no reason to put your "sauce" on the shell since it will not penetrate the shell. Lobster is excellent eating!
I know it wouldn't penetrate, but where I cracked the claws and it would run down I thought may help. Kind of like when you season blue crabs, the dry dust goest everywhere.
Like I told the "Guys", I've been N,S,E,W in the states and cook a huge mix of styles, you all did a great job cooking out of your elements!! That "Labstah" though 😲. Larry was a big ol'e boy!! Great job!
Great co-lab Matt! Great challenge idea. The Griddle Guys are cool guys too! We've been watching them for a while. Although I think they owe you another box of groceries! They kinda skimped on just a lob-stah. 😉
Hey, Huss. Not bad at all for a Southern boy cooking his first whole lobster ever. 👏 😁 You never cease to amaze with your griddle skills! A real pleasure to watch you work your way through that. Very fun! Take care and hope your holidays are fantastic. Any plans for a Hussey's Christmas Live? You and the family be well!
I've got that same cast iron piece...I wish the bottom was as wide as the top. it's a bit precarious trying to use it on the gas stove in the house. other than that, they're great for keeping your stuff warm after removing from the heat.
Great video Hungry Hussy. I don't remember who I started watching first you or the Griddle Guys I never miss either one of you. By the way, it might be easier to commit the final act if you didn't name him. After watching you and the Griddle Guys I want some Lobster and Red Eye Gravy.
I have eaten lobster, but never saw one cooked on the grill, but you are a better person than me. The lobster you cooked does look nice cooked on the grill and it must be tasty also.
