i was gonna wait to post this when i am more lucid but WHO CARES
here we have Nidah being her usual self, upholding the laws of mortality, missing(?) her mom, and being adorable all at the same time. A “fun” idea just occurred to me. Imagine there’s someone really skilled in magic, and one day a loved one of theirs passes away, but they keep them alive and well through the use of magic. And then Nidah sees that they’re still alive when they’re not meant to be, and crushes the egg, except it doesn’t and the egg turns black. On the magic users side, they’ve just seen their magic turn their loved one into a monster. Oh shit.

yeah, but because I nitpick some things, I noticed the it wasn't entirely consistent, mainly with orange, in one point it's used for curiosity or interest and in another point its used for boredom or a lack of interest. otherwise I love this

What an interesting character Nidah is! Death is often portrayed as very solumn, though she seems like the opposite - a rather agitated bird? She was so cute when she fluffed up! What's with all the cracked eggs?

They're meant to represent the souls of the living! Part of her job is to prevent mortals from prolonging their lives with magic, and watching the eggs is the easiest way for her to tell when something is up!

Yes! The spiral is the symbol of life magic, and so those who wear it are prolonging their lives with magic. Nidah is the goddess of death, so she has a problem with that.
