Climate change and extreme weather events are already increasing health service demand and severely impacting the ability to deliver universal health care.
At the same time, healthcare has a significant environmental impact as services are resource intensive and generate substantial waste, creating environmental harm which subsequently affects human health. The need to develop net zero and climate resilient healthcare is increasingly recognised in Australia and overseas.
This session will explore how healthcare can become more environmentally sustainable and resilient to climate change.
