@Himanshu Gupta no, I don't think so. This guy is smart enough to become a nurse by the time he was 24. So he obviously had a normal functioning brain. He clearly has issues with accountability. He's blaming everything on his parents. Even him losing his nursing license was blamed on them. He's a lazy person that needs to accept his responsibility for his own actions.

Emotional trauma stunts our growth and keeps us locked in our childhood trauma. Abuse and narcissistic control can cause great damage to the fragile psyche of our childlike selves. I had severe abuse and torture and developed dissociative symptoms as a way to cope with the intolerable brutality of my childhood. As a result-- it lead to a host of mental illness, addictions, self harm, and even almost suicide before I found safety away from my abusers in order to start healing. I have done extensive healing work and made much progress- but the brain trauma I experienced altered my ability to properly develop so I have the emotional capacity of a 3 year old at times, some cognitive dysfunction, and slight autism. I am very highly functional and I have fought hard to survive and heal- and I continue to do so. This is very common with trauma survivers- we get stuck as children. We can heal though- and we deserve to. We are all worth it. Thanks. 💚💚💚

Im the victim of narcissistic abuse and infantilization. The parents make you believe you cant do things on your own, tell you that its too hard for you, they’ll do it for you. And usually one or more of the parents puts you down as a child and reminds you how you fail at things, how you aren’t capable to do what other kids can do. They psychologically keep you crippled. This is infantilization, he’s right. This is the parents fault but now its up to him to change it. His father not helping him cosign a car is a clear sign that he is a infantilizing narcissist and wants him to stay there and control him. My father for example would put me down and tell me how i cant do anything right, and “stop put that down you failed you’re not going to get it right trust me. Now, come do this application for me, good job see you are smart. Wow you are very smart” I would be told these things when i did something for him. Eventually you have to say, enough is enough, part ways and live your life. Dont let your parents or other ppl make you feel bad for not doing things for them. You did that for 20 something years, they tried to take your life from you. Focus on you and only you at this point. I wish this guy the best.

This is true. We never hear the full story. It seems that his parents were narcissists and undermined him and stunted him developmentally so that he can still depend on them. I myself have been considered disabled since 2004. And yet I live by myself in the studio apartment I feed myself I take care of myself I maintain a part-time job. @Brightlightening17
@Brightlightening17 3 года назад
The problem isn't just living with your parents when you are an adult. The problem is when the adult child has no ambition to make a life for themselves in their own place. The problem is when the adult child feels entitled to cohabitate with a mate, and start a family on their parents resources just because the parent has resources. The problem is the negative and hostile excuses the adult child expresses when the parent even asks about what their adult child is doing to get their life together, and move into their own place. The problem is also when the adult child has issues, but won't be consistent with getting the proper medical care that they seriously need; nor, will they let anyone else help them get that urgently needed care. Instead, they self-medicate...which is another problem all by itself. They just keep taking, sucking, and draining the life out of their parents. And the one time the parent says "no" to the adult child, their nasty and ungrateful attitude is projected at the one person who has struggled, and been patient with all of the adult child's stubbornly self-inflicted screw ups as an adult. A parent has no choice but to put their adult child out legally, when they deal with selfish drama on a daily basis.

To anyone who has gone through this--- Emotional neglect and childhood trauma leads to grown adults that have the emotional and mental capacity of a child. (This is me. I experienced severe emotional, mental, physical torture and trauma which led to severe CPTSD and dissociative trauma. I had to get away and get support to learn how to care for myself and heal. ) My question is- what happened to you during your childhood that stunted emotional growth? The responsibility is on the parents for raising a codependent child and never teaching him how to fly. The responsibility is now on you to break away from the abusive narcissistic patterns, move out, get outside support to heal the family trauma, forgive them, and learn how to provide for yourself. They may never change or meet your needs and you have a choice now to walk away . I'm sorry that they never could be the parents you needed and wanted- they may never be there for you the way your little child needs- but you can learn to parent yourself. You can heal regardless of them. No one else has to change in order for us to heal and find peace. Only you can change for You. You always have the power to change yourself and your reality.... You can do it! We are all here to- Break the cycle of narcissistic abuse, trauma, addiction, and codependency. A better life is waiting for you- believe you are worth it!!! I believe in you. Believe in yourself.

I am in my 30s. I also blame the recession that ruined my career and job prospects. I blamed the women recruiters who were looking for men with looks to hire rather than skills. The women concept of alpha and beta that they frame their judgment on men are the cause of why millions of men do not get to live their potential.

And there are tens of millions of these adult individuals in America who simply refuse to leave their parent's homes and refuse to go out and get a full time job. We need to end all tax breaks related to household dependents and-- dramatically reduce taxes-- on people who actually get off their asses and go to work.

Sorry to hear this, but you are right. I also went through this abuse as a child that it paralyzed my will. As an adult, I had setbacks and that just worsened their narcissistic abuse. I got ill when I graduated from college and was going to become a teacher, but this time my parents just went on a psychotic narcissistic phase and they tried to undermine me and sicken me more with their toxicity and their way of not giving me time to recover and to think and to apply for jobs. They literally obstructed me to be an adult and put me behind years, I also did not have luck in getting jobs but I was also self-sabotaging myself. The depression and the paralysis of narcissistic abuse made me waste my 20s. I am in my 30s and I don't feel like a normal adult. I have retrogressed emotionally, physically and I cannot speak. They literally want me to sound like a kid because if I sound to much of a man they just put me down and say that you cannot be adult if you still depend on your parents. The housing crisis and my luck in not getting jobs despite my qualification fed their narcissistic abuse more.

The only comment I have on this video is at 1:49 honestly why does it matter if someone still lives with their parents as an adult? What’s the shame in it? People feel ashamed to live with their loved ones because society shames them for it personally I don’t live at home but as long as the adult child is independent and takes care of themselves why is their residence a big deal? With this guy though I understand it being different because he’s not independent and is still living the life of a 10 year old I was just speaking on this topic as a whole

I have a relative that works for a homeless shelter. A lot of the people that live there are Haitian migrants who illegally entered the US. We, the taxpayer, provide them with everything! Housing, healthcare, dental, spending money, finding jobs, filling out job applications, childcare vouchers, food stamps, transportation, translation services, even legal services. The state was willing to provide this one Haitian guy an apartment all paid for with utilities for a year as well as retention of homeless benefits if he and his family would move out of the shelter. He then asks "What's going to happen after a year?". When he was told he would need to work and support his family, he decided to just stay at the shelter. Entitlement is out of control!
