Indeed it's not. Even 'conventional' SMD repair is already something at work I know by now (my hobby-experience with simple SOIC stuff, 0603 resistors and such benefits me greatly at work where I'm about the most experienced SMD guy) I've got Fineplacer automated SMD placement and removal soldering devices to my disposal as well and learned to work with them by now. The first time I saw a J-lead device (PLCC chip) being placed I stayed around to watch. Absolutely awesome to see the solder melt and at some point see the chip sink down onto the PCB with the solder just wetting beautifull between pins and IC. We can't do BGA's yet (aviation electronics is a very conservative field of work) but I'm sure time is all it takes until we do get the stuff to do BGA's and I'm eager to try it as soon as possible ;) . Fortunately, we also have an X-ray machine to inspect soldered BGA's ;)

Hey brother, your videos gave me the courage to work on GPU's! I just bought my first 2080, it arrived with a badly cracked PCB and i belive a blown MOSFET although i havent checked for shorts yet, i can see the tenth chip has a small burn mark on the side. There are roughly 18 0.1mm broken traces on the PCB and so far i've soldered about 6 of them. But I paused due to worn solder tips and lack of UV solder mask. Hopefully I can get it working, I bought it for practice and paid roughly $80 for it. $100 if you count the solder mask and new tips. :-) Anyway, cheers for all the great content and thanks for instilling the confidence i needed to take on this project!
