Mike, I can't breathe. I wrote my autobiography over a year ago and I talk about my abortions. I was pro-choice for years because I didn't want to feel like crap after having the abortions and having someone tell me I was a murderer (it was my body after all, right?). I became pro-life several years ago after becoming a Christian. The remorse, regret, and pain this has caused me and I'm sure my unborn children are devastating. This is the type of regret that never-ever goes away. I thank Jesus every day for His grace and mercy because without Him I wouldn't be able to wake up in the morning.. Thank you for being so willing to show us and talk so frankly about abortion and what it actually is and what being pro-choice is supporting. I hope to always speak this truth in love and help others not make the same life long devastating mistakes I have made.

I had an abortion about 7 months ago at 5 weeks and the guilt is tremendous. I am a changed person and believe that I am forgiven but it really is hard to feel that way sometimes. I always thought that it wasn't bad because it was "just a sac of cells" but afterwards I can't stop thinking about how far along id be along now and how selfish I was. Thank you for sharing your story because I was wondering if the guilt ever goes away. I also wondered if I would see my baby in heaven.

Out of curiosity: Have any of you givem names to your unborn children? For me, it's the hardship of miscarrying at around 7 weeks gestation. I still wonder if my putting my body through the stress of a new workout routine (powders, pills, etc) while I was trying to get pregnant is how my pregnancy ended. We had a name picked out for our second daughter (Autumn) but changed it. 14 years later we almost gave that name to our third daughter but changed it and decided to use it as a middle name for our unborn child. We chose Sam as a gender neutral first name. Both were chosen because we made the final decision that while we liked both names, we didn't want to use either name for any children we give birth to in labor and delivery. I now have names picked out just in case of any future miscarriages.

I'm a Christian and was a former counselor at a Pregnancy Crisis Clinic. Most of those coming in were young girls who said if their boyfriends had threatened to leave if they didn't get an abortion. They really thought the baby was not human and only a clump of cells, etc. Most, if not all, though, got the correct counseling/facts, saw an ultrasound where they could actually see "it", changed their minds. We helped with adoptions, etc. All were very grateful and didn't regret their decision to not abort. What you don't hear are all the true stories about those who did and how devastating it is to them.....emotional, spiritual, physical for the rest of their lives. It's something they can't redo. It's not as "safe' as presented either. And yes, these "doctors"/clinics use the babies many times to sell for profit. Some are even born alive but they tell moms it was dead bc they get more money from living ones. It's beyond evil. It's very simple to me in that it's just a scientific, biological fact they are developing human beings at ANY stage, which begins at conception. They're not developing dogs, cats, etc. All these arguments about when they have a "soul" is demonic nonsense made to confuse and promote abortions.

You might have a morally bankrupt position if: 1. You resort to lying with statistics. 2. You replace everyday terms with euphemisms. 3. You lie about biology. 4. You use pretzel logic to defend your position. 5. If anyone disagrees with you for any reason, you immediately resort to ad hominem, using straw man arguments, yelling, or expletives instead of well thought out reasonable, honest, logical responses.

Also, the baby is in the most protected place it can be, surrounded by its mother's body, kept at a perfect temperature, receiving nutrients and antibodies against disease from the mother, getting everything it needs while it grows, until it is ready to go on without the umbilical cord and ready to breathe air. It is a violent invasion to rip a baby out of its mother. Even miscarriage (or "spontaneous abortion," as they called it when I was younger) does not leave the mother's body ravaged and damaged and vulnerable to death from infection. It is a terrible thing, but the mother's body does have natural mechanisms to recover from it. There is absolutely nothing natural about abortion. Women's bodies were designed to provide a safe and perfect place for life to begin. It is a privilege and a miracle to bring a new life into the world. Nobody should be violating a woman's body to kill the precious life inside of her. The fact that leftists in the U.S. and other places call it "healthcare" is the height of dishonesty and twisted, evil thinking. I'm glad your government does not engage in those horrible lies.

What changed me from pro choice to pro life was just thinking about my own beliefs on the matter. Even when I was pro choice I knew I could never have an abortion. One day I just asked myself why I would never have one and it took me longer than I care to admit that I finally admitted it; I would never kill my own child (and from there it was a pretty short ideological jump to all of them being living humans and it shouldn't be accepted or celebrated to kill them for convenience).

20:45 "It's decided by one person, but it's really about two people." No, it's about three people. The fact that the fathers cannot hard no the murder of their own children needs to be addressed, too. Dave Chappelle's bit about this issue is a hysterically dark reductio ad absurdum, but if it continues to be ignored outside the confines of politically incorrect comedy, he's going to end up being a prophet instead of a warning.

I used to be very prochoice. What changed my mind about abortion: 1) the question of "what if she is raped? Why should she live with the consequences of another's actions?" Turned into, "does the rape baby have the equal right to live as the baby concieved through premarital consensual sex?" 2) 2nd trimester abortion procedures (one video I watched had a nurse at an abortion clinic state that they "bag" and "dispose the parts of it (fetus)".) 3) side effects of abortions being minimized or denied by the left ("it's something you can just get. It's a healthy option". No, there's more to it.) 4) the personhood of the fetus/baby being reduced to "a cluster of cells". This is simply a tactic to make abortion seem less traumatizing. Those "cluster of cells" are often full on limbs being ripped apart
@sparaxisblanc2473
@sparaxisblanc2473 4 года назад
#3's why I changed my mind too! However I am pretty annoyed that America does a poor job recording any side effects though. Only 28 states bother to record anything and then doctors write down the immediate cause of death instead of the event causing it (it makes sense, but at the same time it helps to know what happened.)

Thanks Mike for highlighting the similarity between a foetus and one-year old. If I may just add something, here's a thought: if the baby in the womb is not alive, then what is being prevented through abortion? If they are not alive, then they won't grow, because dead things don't grow. But if you're getting rid of them because you don't want them to grow, then that's evidence that you already acknowledge that there is life, which you are trying to get rid of before you can't legally do it. The very act of abortion is enough to show that someone is trying to extinguish a life. If there was no life, then you wouldn't have to do anything, and you would still remain childless. You don't go to an abortion clinic because you're uncertain whether a child is growing inside you, you go there because you want to make sure that a child won't be born, because the law says that if you allow them to grow, or be born, then you have to take care of them. Now, how is that different from killing your one-year old because you don't want to have to take care of them? The motive and result is exactly the same, but for one you get charged with murder, and for the other you get congratulated by some for exercising your right to choose.
@iyaayas
@iyaayas 2 года назад
I admit I'm only 5 minutes into the video when I read your comment here so my response is most likely out of context and the spirit out of the argument. Make sure to keep the context because "If there was no life, then you wouldn't have to do anything..." can be applied to cancer cells. Just wanted to give you a heads up in order to mentally prepare for that argument just in case you haven't run into it. I wasn't prepared I first heard it. The other arguments that I usually respond in my head to as, "that's just stupid" are along the lines of killing plants, blood cells in the body, the sperm and egg live separately so using birth control is the same as killing a potential baby (Catholics hold to this argument and consider non-abstinenance birth control to be immoral), cancer, a cyst, mole, etc. I'm still not prepared because it's baffling to me that those things all = human life in those arguments and I don't agree with that.
@henryodera5726
@henryodera5726 2 года назад
@@iyaayas A foetus isn't the same as a cancer cell. Just off the top of my head, one reason for the distinction is that the foetus grows into a separate human being. Do cancer cells grow to become living human beings with their own bodies or consciousnesses? Another way I could put it is this: if a foetus is considered to be something that belongs to the woman then two conclusions must be made: 1. The foetus also belongs to the father. Since a foetus is made up of both the sperm and the egg, then the father should have equal right to choose to kill or preserve it. Just because the father's property (his sperm) is in someone else's body, does not give that person the right to claim it as their own, unless the father legally gives up his right to it. 2. All children are the property of their parents regardless of age, and if they are legally allowed to abort, then they should also legally be allowed to kill their children regardless of age. Since all human beings were once foetuses, then there is no logical reason to declare them their own possession, if their form as a foetus belonged to their parents. But if adult human beings are deemed to be their own possession and not their parents, then how can a foetus be deemed as something that belongs to the parent? Sperm is the father's, and the egg is the mother's. But when those two join to become something else, then that new thing should either be deemed to be both their property for as long as it exists, or neither of their property, but its own autonomous being. Children usually do not belong to their parents. Their parents just have custody over them until they become of age. This is why a parent just cannot just break off his child's arm when he feels like it, or kill it when he doesn't feel like taking care of it anymore. It's the same with a foetus. The mother is the custodian of the foetus and not its owner. Therefore, she has no right to prematurely end its life. She could give up custody if possible, but she cannot just destroy it.
@henryodera5726
@henryodera5726 2 года назад
@@iyaayas Another way to look at it is this way: a woman's body belongs to her and not to her mother, right? "My body, my choice", right? Even if she were in a coma, it would still be her own body and not her mother's, right? Even if she should lose consciousness, it's still her body, right? She can even make a will about how her body is to be disposed of in the event of death, right? This means that the law recognizes her as the owner of her body to some extent even when her consciousness is absent from her body, right? So when exactly did the woman acquire rights to her own body from her mother? She didn't buy it from her mother, did she? And she didn't create it herself, did she? So when did she get rights to her own body? Another crude way to put it is like this: in the act of sexual intercourse, parts of a man's body may enter the woman's, right? Other than sperm, his penis may also enter the woman's body. Does a man's penis belong to the woman while it is in her body? Does it not still belong to him? Even if he should lose consciousness while in the act, is it still not his? So how is that different from a human being who is still in the earliest stages of development? Therefore, even if a human being does not have consciousness while yet a foetus (which cannot be proved), it is still his body, isn't it? It is not his mother's body.

There's a lot of contradictions with pro-choicers. This particular one bothers me....Many are the types who talk often about 'inclusivity' and how the disabled should have equal rights and be able to access them, (and rightly so.) However, you find amongst those pro choicers who acquiesce to some term limits on abortion, they often waive them if the baby is disabled. Essentially they're saying "well I believe in abortion but only up to 2nd trimester...unless the baby's disabled and then later is OK." As if the lives of disabled babies deserve less protection. This strange paradox is enshrined in law in lots of liberal western countries where abortion is concerned. There are many laws that protect the rights of the disabled or those with learning disabilities.....if they are lucky enough to have been deemed worthy of life before birth.
@TheDemolition2000

Pro-choice is 100% a heart/morality issue in a person, not intellectual in nature. Pro-choicers might try to come up with intellectual reasons in order to justify abortion post hoc, but the foundation and the real reason for being pro-choice is moral and not in any way intellectual. That’s why well formed arguments do not ever seem to work, and are probably never going to win pro-choicers over. It HAS to be rhetorical; we have to start using rhetoric and word-games like they do. 1) We need to up the anti, and tip the scales, by displaying the TRUE graphic nature and grotesque images that belong to the abortion procedure. The moral discomfort and also disgust that they feel must outweigh the comfort they receive from supporting or having an abortion. 2) We also need to stop holding back and pulling punches on stating how evil a person must be for them to have had an abortion, or to be a person who supports abortion. Rather than the first tactic focusing on tipping the moral discomfort and disgust scales in people, this rhetoric is aimed at the selfish and self-righteous tendencies of people. People neither want to be seen as evil, nor to think themselves as evil. I hate playing these rhetoric games, but this seems to be what grabs the attention and fellowship of the masses, not well formed arguments-as displayed by the fact that they’re still not pro-life. If there’s one thing pro-choice is good at, it is dishonest rhetoric; and unfortunately pro-life needs to start using strong and honest rhetoric (which we have not been to the proper extent).

It was just a heavy period. Now I wonder if it happened because of some kind of abnormalities with the DNA. If that's the case, I'm glad God took my baby home but I won't know until I die. We named our baby Sam Autumn. (Sam is gemder neutral, Autumn is a name I picked out for my second daughter but changed my name. We almost gave it to our third daughter but we decided on a name with a deeper meaning instead. By using it for true baby 3, we're acknowledging that we love the name but not enough to use it with our children we meet outside of the womb.

I grew up a christian and I went to church as a child but I had ran from god in my teen years. I ended up moving in with my grandparents who were very faithful and showed me God's grace. I then thought what am I going to do with this baby?! I chose to learn more about adoption. I felt god guiding me there and for the first time in a long time I listened to him. I placed my son for adoption. I chose life and I chose to create a family. I chose a family who weren't able to have children. They prayed for this day. God had a plan and used me to complete it. The rape & incest objection is almost always a red herring. Test this by granting it to them. If you suggest, "Ok. If I agree that abortions should continue to be allowed for rape and incest, would you be willing to ban all other abortions?" Every time I've done this the answer has been 'no'. They don't care about rape and incest, they are just trying to corner you with a moral argument.

To the young man who's dad finds it strange that he has decided to keep himself pure until he marries, here's an encouraging verse for you :) "Therefore, since Christ suffered [a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. 3 For we have spent enough of our past [b]lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles-when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. 4 In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you. " 1 Peter 4:4 The World will think us strange that we do not think like them but thank God that Jesus is able to keep us from evil. @ Mike Winger, thanks for the great answer. I enjoy your videos, thank you for taking time on my questions. I'm eager to learn, so I ask my personal questions plus questions I've been asked by others. I think it was IP, and in the couple videos I've seen, he says "God came into the universe and takes it out of its chaotic state, and assigns function etc." I don't recall him saying God created everything, but only came into it, also other videos imply everything already existing, like Adam and Eve (plus other humans) already being there. And old testament polytheism. so he had me quite confused. But I'm open to hearing him explain his perspective, most theistic evolution theories I've seen seem to try and squeeze God into their confines of science rather than accept that God CAN DO ALL THINGS. I can respect his work and effort put into his videos, but Michael seems to quote alot of others, such as Walton. Plus he also seems to rely on what other biblical time cultures believed as well, and those culture's gods etc. Like how when God says to worship no other gods but him, Michael mentions something about other "lesser gods" or spiritual beings, like God is over other gods and not the ONLY God. So God is saying to worship him as supreme God over others, and not "I am the one and only God, so loose your man made idols." I may not be a scholar but that seems very incorrect. But he does defend and believe in Jesus Christ and the resurrection, salvation through Jesus alone, morality is impossible without God, etc. So I don't think misdirection is intended, and some of his videos have interesting points or facts. Thanks again for your videos Mike

I'm watching this now because I only discovered Pastor Mike's channel fairly recently. I considered myself pro-choice for years. After we married, it was necessary for my husband and I to conceive thru IVF. Even up to the point of getting pregnant after our 4th round (Praise God!), I called myself pro-choice. But because of IVF I had to get a very early ultrasound (3 weeks) and I was blown away! Even at that stage you can see a heartbeat! It's a tiny flashing light! I don't care what anyone says: that's life! Then I had a series of ultrasounds to check the progress before I was turned over to an OB/GYN. I saw the "gummy bear" stage (that's what they called it). Then at 10 weeks at the OB, they couldn't hear the heartbeat with a stethoscope, so they did another ultrasound. There was my little girl... fully formed and looking like a baby! She was jumping and kicking and flinging around all over the place! There were other things that happened during this time that kept bringing me closer to God. But that would make this post even longer! I didn't get saved until 5 years ago at the age of 45. But what a journey! I know this is long, but I hope that my testimony blesses someone! 🙏

Even as an atheist, abortion is pretty barbaric, I'm on your side of this issue because I don't accept the concept of Hell. Death, even a painful one, is not nearly as barbaric as an eternity of suffering(I consider torture) from most Christian's concept of Hell. If I really believed in Hell, I would receive comfort in the belief that those who die before "accountability" are, according to most Christians, guaranteed passage to an eternity of heaven. The vast majority of all the humans who ever lived will not be so lucky especially the ones in the distant past who never heard the gospel. Guaranteed passage to Heaven is a much better deal than most of us will receive. Do you have a video on Hell? If not, please consider making one. I'd love to watch :)

Mother, child and the father. I heard an argument about child support regarding abortion. If a father has no choice to keep the child, he should also be able to abstain from being financially committed. What if the father isn't ready to be a father? Should he not be able to deny being the father for the same reasons a woman decides she doesn't want to be a mother? I resonate both with your care for your wife's health and with your reluctance to decide on vasectomy without biblical advice. a) Technically: how about condoms for the time being? b) Morally: At least, vasectomy wouldn't be terminating a conceived life. Under the law, castration (even of one's animals) is deemed an abomination. To see how this figures under the New Covenant (where all the more the believer's body is no-one's own but "unto the Lord") would require some evaluation of the reasons given and the spiritual, ethical and typological meaning of this taboo. ...which I am not sure of. Maybe you have already done some study on this issue in the meantime. Keep on digging. May God give you wisdom.

In my country the standard position for almost a century has been "Abortion is wrong, but it needs to be legalised and regulated for safety purposes." When Americans started coming to my country pushing the 'pro choice' message, and the government, despite having polls showing less than 2% of the country is 'pro choice' in the American sense, that is when I started opposing Abortion as something the Americans are pushing onto other nations and their own working class as a form of population control. Living in a place with no freedom of speech though I rarely voiced my anti-abortion views until I became a Christian and no longer care about social consequence from the ungodly. Becoming a Christian is when I noticed that Exodus is describing a society of rat race, the illusion of progress, and abortions being pushed on people who are working too much to put thought into other areas of life, just like the modern west. In the American context I was always pro-life though.

That's because you were there for birth control. If you were there for an abortion then they will not want to know your age, who the father or the situation in which the child was conceived because then they would be required to report it in some states. So they don't ask and encourage all involved to keep those details quiet.

Mike, the first chapters of Genesis are clearly not poetry, the writing style is literal, plus, the Gospel of Luke traces Jesus'line all the way back to Adam, also woman are to submit to their husbands because of what happened in Genesis, that's the new Testaments claim at least, there is no good textual reason to reject a young earth, because if Jesus can be mostly traced back to Adam, that means that the earth can't be that old, also, God made us in His image and likeness, separate from animals, so us being animals , (which is what evolution implies), is not consistent with that, because He formed us from the dust, how can you read the whole book if Genesis and still think it's possible, this is not just an inhouse discussion, when you claim that God used evolution to fit in with the culture, you're calling God a lier, because He made it clear that's the way He did it. God bless

I was in no way intending to put Mike on the Hot seat about this topic, I genuinely love Mike's videos. He has a lot of knowledge and wisdom about the bible. I was just curious because theistic evolution seems very contradictory to the Bible. But I'm not against science in general, because I think God wants us to discover things in the world and stand in awe of his Glory and creation, *His Creation*. It's sad that the world has turned it into "God vs Science" Thanks for the videos Mike And I could NEVER consider abortion EVER! we've had 5 kids, very unfortunately we lost one of our daughters at birth, it was the most devastating thing I have ever experienced! I would NEVER choose to not have a baby. The heartwrenching pain to hold a lifeless baby is forever life changing, but her presence in our lives was pure joy, and a blessing. I loved seeing all our ultrasound pics, even when they looked like kidney beans lol. I love my kids and am definitely pro life. Amen, children are the gift from God! On the topic of Theistic Evolution, I like how Ken Ham explains adding millions of years to the Bible, say pre Adam and Eve and the fall, puts death before sin. That's a point to think on. Did God make dinasours to rip each other apart initially? Or was this an effect of the fall? Like disease, pain, and death. The whole "creation groans" because of the fall. Take care, B.

Although I am a Christian, I'm not pro-life simply because I believe abortion is a sin. I'm pro-life because I believe that the right to life is the most basic of all human rights, and abortion infringes on that right. Just because someone is a Christian and doesn't personally approve of abortion doesn't mean he/she wants it to be illegal, which is why I disagree on the idea that Christians can't separate their faith from being pro-life. Also, I understand most biologists believe life begins at implantation, not fertilization. Any thoughts on that?

To be fair on the double homicide question, charges for murdering a pregnant woman are often less for killing the fetus. Scott Peterson, for example, was convicted of first degree murder against Laci Peterson but only second degree murder on Conner Peterson, the son that Laci was carrying at the time. The left-wingers out in California didn't want to acknowledge that Conner was a full human being, so they convicted Scott on a lesser charge for that murder.

Romans 14:5-6 “One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.” I’ve always learned that the traditional Jewish sabbath was on our calendar’s “saturday” but society has switched to Sunday’s and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. Sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath to be ruled by it. It is a blessing from God becuase he knows that human beings need rest and time to slow down. I’ve always believed a man could make Thursday his sabbath if he finds a church and actively stays in the word. And I know some 7th Day Adventist’s who will fight you tooth and nail that Saturday is the only correct day and the rest of us are all wrong and improper. I think that’s not right. It’s rude and judgmental for wrong reasons. Just like how Paul scolded Peter for being judgmental against those who weren’t eating clean and kosher, this romans verse relays the same idea. As long as we make a decision on a non-salvation issue and we are completely confident in it and don’t change biblical truths by it, we are in the right. As Martin Luther said, sin boldly! If you are to make a mistake, let it be one where you felt you were doing the right thing and believed you were truly honoring God through it. It’s easy to take these concepts too far and really twist scripture....but as far as things like dieting and sabbath rules, I think it‘s a reasonable explanation
